Ningen Isu is an amazing band. More than a band, it is a cultural heritage. A treasure. And their performances are a real spectacle!

moto9ma already explained the story. In the first two minutes the lyrics tell the story. But then the song turns into so called "program music" = an instrumental in which the instruments tell the story. In the beginning everybody laughs about the crippled dwarf. He fells in love with an acrobat, but she too disdains him. In despair he gets insane, kills her and burns down the circus. At the end it's he who laughs seeing all those who haunted him dead. This explains the drummer's pantomime and the prominent role of diabolic laughter.
