- Logitech has just updated their most iconic productivity mouse with the MX Master 3S but on the surface of it, well, it doesn't look any different, so in this video I break down how I've got on with it as a long term user of the MX Master 3!

Excellent comparison and analysis as always. Thanks for your fun and enthusiastic videos. I am always eager to see what your videos hold! Thanks again, and looking forward to the next. 👍🏽👍🏽
Glad you like them!
Love your review! I Love my 3S! The battery is insane, and the look and feel of using it is amazing! Those clicks finally gone, the wife can sleep in peace now!
Thanks for the awesome review. A lot of comparisons on UA-cam between the 3 and 3S only seemed to appreciate the quietness of the left/right clicks in the case of the 3S, but failed to mention the "mushyness" that came along. Thank you for including that detail in!
Thank you so much for comparing all 3 close up. This video was the best guide to make a color decision that I could find!
amazing review.. Watched the video after buying it & it helped me understanding all the features quickly.. Thanks
Extremely well presented and objective review!
Happy to support the channel. Respect to the people who buy stuff with their own money and review it.
Thank you! And yes, I definitely spend too much money 😅 but it’s worth it for these comments plus I feel like I can add things that reviewers who get sent these don’t say if that makes sense!
I just got this mouse the other day and I'm in love with it! The clicks are nice and silent (but not squishy), and it's incredibly comfortable to use. Not to mention the customization in the logitech software is great, especially for workflow and creative work.
Does it have an on board memory?
@@lecxarcangel5644 I think so, as long as it's connected to the computer with the Logitech software it'll remember your macros
@@lecxarcangel5644the software on the PC is the memory. If you dual boot a second OS on the PC and you have different settings on each logitech software your mouse will operate according to those settings.
there is no on board memory except for bluetooth pairing handshake memory.
@@lecxarcangel5644 Sadly, no. You have keep the options+ software running for using custom settings.
Thank you for the great review. 👍 This video has helped me decide which mouse to buy!
Great review! Well explained. I’m convinced now and get one soon.
I actually like the heavy weight of this mouse... It just feela solid while using and I am also using a great mouse pad so my mouse just glides over it no matter what weight. Also I love the feedback of click and would like to have a crisp click sound. So 3 is for me. I hope 4 would bring some major improvements i don't know in what field cuz it's already a perfected mouse ... But I would love to see the new innovations. Great work Logitech ❤️
I love your energy, thank you for detailed review
I ordered one today to replace a Kensington Orbit trackball. I've never been happy with wireless mice, but I'm going to give the 3S a chance. Thanks for your review. It was very helpful!
That's really neat. I'm hoping Logitech would release MX vertical mouse that has that quiet click noise just like this MX Master 3S.
Yes and a side scroll wheel to that mouse!
Thank you for the detailed video.
Do you know if the MX Master 3S is fully compatible with Macbook Pro M1 ?
I heard that MX Master 3 is having problems with Macbook Apple Silicon (M1) chip.
For example the side scrolling wasn't working at all.
I’ve had no issues with the mx master 3 or 3s, it might be because they aren’t running the Logitech software? I found no issues with any of the functions, default and my custom ones, but this is my personal experience using it with all my macs and PCs, unfortunately not every product works perfectly 100% for 100% of people, there are can be factors like other background applications that is causing interference etc
Great review. I previously had a mx 2 but it was stolen. As soon as I saw that the new model had quiet clicks, I bought it immediately. I love the thumb button, all the other controls, and the ability to switch between devices with the press of a button. This mouse helps my productivity so much!
Thank you for the comparison. It was very informative.
Thanks for the review, very useful. I bought the 3s for Mac because I needed a three button mouse for use with DaVinci Resolve and the magic mouse didn't really cut it. I have to say this is a great mouse, very ergonomic and I use it now for just about everything in preference to the magic mouse. Apart from one thing - vertical scrolling in text. If I'm running down a list on web or a document, then the magic mouse is really smooth, enabling me to read as I go along. The 3s is jerky (yes, I have set it to smooth scrolling) making it impossible to comfortably read as I go. Is there any reason why Apple can make their mouse scroll genuinely smoothly and Logitech can't? Or have I missed something?
Just bought one today! Can't wait for it to come!
Love you videos! Do you know if the regular MX 3 works with Mac? Because I remember the older ones like MX 2 or something had lagging issues with Mac.
yes. it's just marketing
Well you say not for serious gaming, but it's very hard to find a really good mouse that has silent clicks, which this does. The S part is a very large difference I think from the normalt 3.
I hope they make a lightweight version of this. I really love my MX Master 3, but it really gets tiresome for my wrists when I use it for my 9 to 5
😂😂😂
Thx for your comparison. Any chance to compare it to lift?
Now I'm using MX Master3 and it actually works with Mac and iPad, it's not the mac version and still works, I'm not sure why there was a mac version if the normal one works well. Maybe just because of the colors
Mac version uses colors that fit Apple's peripherals
Mac version doesnt come with a receiver, also bolt / unify receiver aren't compatible
@@scoty_does wait what .. unify receivers dont work on mac os? im sure im using one with my Mac .. i prefer it over bluetooth
@@asanthadenz Does the options software worth with yours? It doesnt with mine.
-The regular MX Master 3 works with an iPad. Just like any Bluetooth mouse would. Just gotta use Bluetooth.
-The Mac version does not come with a USB-A receiver as most modern Macs no longer use USB-A… I would guess that’s the main reason. Aside from color both versions are the same.
-You can use the USB-A receiver on both Mac and Windows, or you can use Bluetooth. Although on Mac, using Bluetooth your polling rate will be capped at 90hz (I’ve noticed this on all Mouse with Bluetooth, even Apples Magic Mouse). If you use the USB-A receiver you’ll get 125hz polling rate… so it would feel smoother in a way using the receiver on a Mac.
Thanks for this! I've gone through my third "gaming" mouse in as many years, and it's always the same dang thing - the scroll wheel. I guess using it for work, play AND personal work was a bit more than a game mouse could handle.
Great comparison!
Upgraded to the MX Master 3S from an MX2 Anywhere. I love it, silent clicks are a huge improvement. Managed to get it for just £75 so not much more than the MX3.
Got mine for $75 as well
Have ordered the 3s to go with my ipad mini 6. Logitech have also included the travel case for the 3s, sold separately for £17 so £119.99 for both is not bad value for the 3s. Will also be using it with my laptop for photo editing, using ipad mini as touchscreen for my laptop. Apple pencil 2 and 3s is great combination for working on digital photography.
Well considering the 3s is $100.......
Hiii, does both the 3 and 3s remember the programs you put on it despite using a different laptop/desktop?
Cause I really want to get one by my company laptop does not allow us to download anything and I'm not sure if the mouse has an on board memory for the settings you added to it
Your review is amazing, thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
I would like to note that the logi software doesn't support windows 8.1 or lower, I have server 16 and 8.1 enterprise and it doesn't appear on either but still works fine by itself as a basic mouse. Works great on 11 though
Great review, well done mate! Love it! But I hate this new mushy sound of 3S, I like the classic sound of a satisfying click.
How Flow option works when working with many additionalk screens? I have three computers on my desk, two of which have two additional monitors. The question is, does the flow works for extended monitors?
Wow someone with a genuine review of the product and not some paid by logitech crap review. Good work, worth my subscribe :)
not working for Mac: side scroll setting won't keep the chosen setting, e.g. volume up/down, etc. It works for a few seconds, then defaults to selecting various fields on the screen like search bar, images, or text fields. Probably something I did or didn't do but sending it back for something else
Great review, thanks!
Why the mouse often zooms the screen, had same issue with MX Master 3 and 3S on different computers with different Windows versions.
Sometimes I even take my hand off the mouse, press CNTRL to copy/paste and without even having a hand on the mouse - it zooms in everything - sometimes.
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
I am suffering for years with these mice
I really hope in the Master 4 they release both crispy switch and silent switch option. I really like the silent switch, but I am afraid Logitech returns to crispy click in Master 4.
Hi there. Thanks for the vídeo. The Master 3 click is so annoying. They should allow Master 3 user do an upgrade at least with a discount. Do you know if we're able to export config from Master 3 and import into Master 3S?
Are there any problem with the white mouse. There are plenty complaints about getting yellowish in time. Any idea?
So means the new 3s no more only for Macbook users? Means the 3s is versatile can use for all operating system?
Hello, I have seen that pale gray over time it turns yellow. What about yours? Did it turn yellow or brown?
on the contrary, 8k sensor did not seem as efficient to me as before compared to the old version. I do not use the product I purchased at the moment therefore
It looks like all past MX mouses in terms of high arch of the hand. The original MX was so arched it gave me carpal tunnel. Is this lower? I actually stopped using it and started using a G502 and that mouse is so low profile that it’s much much more comfortable to edit with weirdly enough since it’s aimed as a gaming mouse
How bright is the optical sensor? I am sensitive to mice with bright, old style sensors
Using Gaming mouse at my home office hurts my fingers in a long hours of use, do you think switching to MX Master 3s solves that problem?
Do you think the new 3s model will pick up more dirt and get dingy over time with that white color? I have the grey model and it stays clean but wanted to pick up another one to take to the office but hesitant to get the 3s fearing it's going to get dingy over time though I use it with clean hands.
Easier to identify different models in the review. He chose different colors. For real world use, black one is better choice.
This mouse is something I should have invested in for many years ago! Just love it.
Special thanks for buying all 3 colors. I want to see them all together in real life to choose from, and your review is the only one that did that. Thanks!
Which color did you choose
Hello! Thanks for the video! I had an question I bought master 3s from Amazon but when I tried to register on Logitech it accepted the serial number but it is showing white color but I have bought grey, so is it normal or okay to have such error or change? Please help!
Do you know if there is mouse acceleration? And if so are we able to turn it off?
Do you get issues with it catching stains - on the pale grey version?
Dont buy the White/gray version. It stains pretty quickly and you cant remove it.
I actually love the clickyness of it. I find it satisfying for my work
I don't think that the comment that MX Master 3 didn't work with the iPad because I use a MX Master 2S that works perfectly between my windows laptop and 12.9 inch iPad Pro. Not sure though. But I can confirm for the MX Master 2S
Really nice review!
Thank you so much!
did they fix the scroll wheel noise/rubbing issue?
Excellent review 👍
I would take 30% of the battery life for a 250-500Hz polling rate. I love everything about this mouse except the "mushy" feel the low polling rate gives.
Why the wheel and the side buttons were not tested??
which color should I get to match my silver m2 macbook
Would you recommend this mouse for gaming ?
I chose the 3 over the 3s because it was cheaper by 20 bucks and the main thing was that I like to feel like I am clicking on something and the 3s felt mushy.
How did you know the 3s was mushy? Did you buy them both?
@@cadelepski5161 my friend has one. Also u can try to display ones at some best buys.
@@dannggg So, did you try your friends or a display one? My 3S isn't in any way mushy, The very opostte in fact.
@@cadelepski5161 everyone has an opinion of what is mushy and what is not. It’s not mushy to you. It’s mushy to me compare to the 3
@@cadelepski5161 and I tried my friends
Does the thumb wheel overshoot when scrolling through an editing timeline? Or does scrolling immediately stop as you stop rotating the thumb wheel?
For me it is not overshooting
Does the white mouse get dirty fast? if so, is it hard to clean?
just managed to get the mx master 3s on Ali express for 48 euros with discount code applied. Super happy bout that.
Would’ve been cool to just release different colors or a new customization option since the design is already perfected.
Yeh I would have liked more colours too!
Just wish these logitech mice were more portable as in thin and adjustable for traveling like the microsoft surface arc mouse.
My only complaint is that the bloody thing is so laggy over bluetooth! I try to plug it in directly, but it's even MORE laggy then. I don't understand!
My MX 3 just broke and I went to by another but it's no longer available. As of today, the MX 3S is $99 on Amazon, the same price I would've paid for the normal 3.
The horizontal scroller of the 3s is the most unreliable bit of this mouse. It sometimes doesn’t work. Very frustrating
Both of my original mx master 3's suffered from the same dimples that would appear by the thumb rest
That problem isn't limited to Logi mice, unfortunately. I see it all the time at work on almost any mouse that has that rubbery coating on the thumb side.
Got the 3S for my M1 Pro chip in the 16" Macbook Pro. Using Bolt receiver. Zero issues, great mouse, using at 4000 dpi. I'm actually quite satisfied with the way it clicks, it's nice. The gestures enables me to do everything I was able to do with the Magic Mouse 2 (except for obvious finger-point scrolling on pages using the touch sensor on the Magic Mouse 2).
good to hear no issues with your M1 Pro, going to give it a shot with mine as I want that quiet click!
Is there a lag? I noticed the Master 3 drops frame to 60hz for cursor and scrolling with the 14 MB pro. Want to know if they fixed it
@@fahmidahsan6728 still seems to drop to 60hz, if I scroll with the touch pad it is smoother vs the wheel. On my 60hz main monitor I of course, can't tell a difference..
@@MikeMcCune thats so disappointing. Such an excellent mouse just this issue for me
Hi Sir! Does it also work properly without the dongle? I do now have usb plugs on my m1 macbook
I actually like how the 2s looks more. Am I missing a lot if I get that one instead? It's for my aunt.
Has the Pale Gray color discolored or has yellow marks after this time of use?
Yes, I have returned my mx master 3s pale gray after 3 weeks due to yellow discoloration
3:38 - I haven't used this mouse yet, but I feel like you need to rotate the mouse clockwise to hold it properly... like your thumb looks too far forwards, and then with that adjustment maybe your hand could be less pronated. It looks like you aren't properly positioning your hand as far as the slope of the mouse goes (to get the wrist into that ergonomic more neutral range). Not sure.
Is the scroll wheel the same on both?
Is the dongle required for the mouse to function? Can the mouse communicate with a computers Bluetooth? I hate dongles.
Works through Bluetooth up to three devices, no need for the dongle, it’s there as another option for connectivity
I just got my mx master 3s yesterday and it is not smooth as trackpad or my cheap generic wireless mouse. I can't say it is laggy but it has tiny stutter. Do you also experience this? I tried windows, mac, usb, bluetooth(all combinations) but result was always the same.
I experienced same. Was marginally better when used directly on wood than on a mouse pad
Why would they place the switching buttons UNDER the mouse? You have to flip the mouse over to change to another machine. Contrast with the older M585 with the switching button located conveniently on top of the mouse.
Yep it’s very annoying! Been like that for a while now, Logitech haven’t changed it! Hopefully in the next one they will finally listen or at least let us map it to a different button
anyone here able to use this on an m2 mac? how does it perform? been hearing bad reviews about it on new macs
Any option to use Logitech software on Ubuntu?
HI, great review. I would like to switch between devices configuring a button on the upper or lateral surface, not using the button under the mouse. Can someone tell me if it is possible on3S (or any older model)? Thanks guys
Not that I know of!
I have the G502 and I hate the scroll wheel being so clicky. If you choose smooth mode its too smooth lol. Have you tried the 502 and if so how does the scroll wheel compare?
I haven't tried the G502 unfortunately sorry!
late comment, it is extremely good, way better
@@lickytime9683 I think mine was actually defective. After seeing this video I was in local currys shop and tried their G502 they had on display and the scroll was much smoother and less clicky. I'd already bought the MX master though which I'm quite happy with to be honest. I'm not a PC gamer so most of the gamer stuff is wasted on my anyway. I just need something comfortable for work
@@Cyapow Pretty much the same here, I got the master after grabbing it in currys and felt how perfectly it fitted my hand
The MX Master 3 worked with iPad, I have one and it's always worked over bluetooth.
the polling rate is low for an advance mouse at this price.
For cad and drawings, definitely need higher rate.
can we use with mac os? i use apple mouse
Hope the 4th version won’t suffer discolouration/stain for the white one
Great mouse no doubt about that, but the firmware updates are broken. cannot update from 22.0.3 to 22.1.6
I got the 3 for the nice click. But then I use at my work desk it’s very noisy😢
A "Remaster" is by definition a small update - you're taking the exact same source material and improving it - and ending up with something essentially the same but enhanced.
Not to be onfused with a reboot lol
I would like to know how does the WHITE part look over time, does it get too DIRTY? Does it get stained?
Yes, it turns yellow and goes brittle over time
5:00 “Haven’t seen this fast of scrolling” Logitech g502: am I a joke to you
Hi. It's work with Windows 7 ?
Idk if this has been addressed but I hate how you cannot change mouse profiles from the keyboard. It's so annoying to flip this mouse on its back and finger stab it multiple times whenever you want to change device control. It blows my mind how this was not included in the launch of the MX 3. I know they're aware this is a requested feature because many have asked for this in their forum. A year later and nothing, that I know of. I wouldn't be surprised if they slap this on a slightly different mouse and call it an MX Master 4.
Me too!! I think I did mention it in the video but yeh I definitely wish that too! I think it’ll be an mx master 4 thing where they will add another button or something to the mouse lol
Those three buttons at the bottom that are used to switch between devices force me to resign from buying this mouse. I wish they were somewhere on the top like the button on Logitech M590. I cannot use the Logitech flow because of security reasons, so I use that button a lot. Now imagine having to flip the mouse tens of times per hour. What a bummer. Looks like M590 is going to stay with me for even more years.
Will it work with Windows 7 please?
Great video !
Thank you!
It is not confortable after many hours. Maybe the "roll" tilt is to blame. But it is a good mouse.
Where did you get White color? i only see black and pale grey for MX 3s
I bought mine direct from Logitech but pretty sure Amazon sell it too
Most people should know everything about it as the first version released many years ago. This is not a professional mouse where you use more than 5-8 hours due to its weight. It's the best looking mouse no doubt. Being a programmer myself along with many around me all of us tried this it's too heavy. In 2022 no mouse should weigh greater than 90-100g. For casual user this mouse is probably best.
UA-camrs all promoting this and the same Nuphy keyboard so they can get a commission. Most office workers are better off with traditional ergonomic mouse and standard keyboard. These things look great and fool people but not actually functional.
