I don't think it is worth it to upgrade from a older mx master even the master 1, but if you are new go for the 3.
4 роки тому+1
I Agree. Although I did make an upgrade from MX 2s and haven't looked back. Don't upgrade if your'e on the budget, but if money is not an issue, go for it. It's a nice improvement
I've been using the 'MX' line of Logitech mice for getting on 15 years now, since the MX Revolution in 2006, the Performance MX n 2009, and the Master range since 2015. They're phenomenal mice, and really helps keep my RSI in check.
As a MX2 user, I don’t see anything that makes me want to upgrade until I need to. It has the same scrolling as the Master 3, I actually prefer the page forward/backward where it was because I don’t have to move my thumb as much with the buttons closer (that’s personal preference, however). I also maybe charge my mouse once every 30-45 days and I use it every day for work. I do like that they’re making it more ergonomic with a greater degree of supination (pronounced soup•eh•nation) and a less “edgy” bulky design. Something I would also like to see is a “heavier” scroll wheel and a side scroll not made of plastic; something a little more premium for this price point. I think USB-C is definitely the way to go, though I’ve never been in an emergency situation where I’ve needed to have quick charge; preferably we’ll see a wireless charging model next time. Overall, I think they are definitely moving in the right direction and am still a huge fan of the MX series.
Jesus man. The Logitech Marathon (from before the first Gen MX Master) has the scroll wheel that toggles between smooth and pronounced scrolling, which is it's main feature. The MX Master was just a more premium version of that. This isn't the first Gen of this mouse that you've reviewed, and you didn't even know it's main feature, then your cutting over to Willy-Do, in poor lighting with boxes in the background, to give you fact checks and features, and he couldn't tell you it's main feature or that you were misusing the mice. After all of that you decidedly claimed that this mouse was way better than the 2nd gen, which comparatively was "unusable", just completely misleading people.
Over Acting tech reviewer, other tech tuber deserve his subs cause they review better than him. Its just that he gets to review all the coolest newest toys.
Here is a tip to all users like me.... Most of the logi mx master 3 users will be using mouse under default config. Please change following to have a better experience with the mouse. Go to mouse settings in windows settings >> go to additional mouse settings >> Pointer options >> turn off Enhance pointer precision. It changed over all experience with the mouse.
The 2nd gen wheel isn't always like that... You can change it in settings and even change is so that if you scroll slow it's like that but if you scroll it fast it's smooth, 2x is just as good
I use a Logitech mouse where you can turn off the resistance (I got it like 2 months ago so I'm not upgrading to this) but I almost always have the scroll resistance turned off, scrolling just feels so much better, BUT with no resistance going line by line can be very difficult, this magnetic mouse wheel I think should fix that, but I can't get back to a mouse with the old mouse wheel, scrolling down websites feels so good now.
@@Duplex39 The previous MX Masters also have a function, where if you spin the wheel fast enough, it automatically switches to freespin mode. Kind of misrepresented the previous gen in the video

Here is the difference after i upgraded 2S: - Micro USB - Rubbercoated scrollwheels, mechanical controlled brake for wheel ratchet mode - Decent side scroll wheel, back/forward placed inconveniently behind the wheel and feels tiny. - Great palmfit. Wide and nice - Thumbutton needs a bit pressure to trigger. MX Master 3: - USB-C charging - All-metal scroll wheels. Magnetic controlled for ratchet breaks (pros: more durable, heavy, no lint, dirt / Cons: more slippy) - LARGER sidescroll, phat and heavy resistance. Buttons now more conveniently positioned under - Is more narrow construted for the palm this time. This can break a deal for some. I thought it was a bad move but does not bother me. - thumb button has a softer rubber coating bow with a litt nub on top to help you trigger button and decrease pressure force. CONS for both: NOISY clicks. Needs mod straight out of the box. Breaking warranty in the process. Oh well..

No need to switch from your existing master 2s but if you are buying this first time I'd go with newer one.
I have the older one and one charge is good for a month, I don't see the importance of the quickcharge. The older one had the bug over windows of loosing the scroll time to time, happy that they fixed it.
I am still excited for this new one. I may buy it 1~2 years later, after my MX2s is not working anymore (which is not very possible)
@@yf16237 same 1 year down ... Still no sign of any problem.

Ergonomics and type-c fast charging. The rest is all the same.
the older battery is also much bigger and lasts much longer
And the wheel feedback
dont think its worth the upgrade if you already have a 2s
also I think the old one promises a whole day from 3 minutes of charge
DarkPa1adin nope. It’s the same. All he had to do was to turn the mouse on.
You can do the same thing with the scroll wheel on 2S by clicking the middle button 🤦🏻♂️
Even on the 1st gen you can do that. Do your homework Lew and Willie.
Lew: "This is a human hand." *raises hand*
Willie Do: "Oh...okay, I don't--"
I'm still using the original MX Master. I love it and holds a charge for days. Feels great in the hand and no need to upgrade for a long time.
Yep. i will get this one when my old one dies.
Smooth scrolling is on the 2s, gesture button is on the 2s so is the program specific profiles... Flow is also on the 2s copy, desktop to desktop it's all existing features from the 2s.
Yup. New shape, type-C charging, and the changes to the side scroll roller and the forward/back buttons are the only real *new* things. I'm probably going to upgrade, but I know it's nowhere near as big of a deal as they make it out to be here.
@@Kvantum I won't upgrade for a while, I got my 2s for 80% off in a deal, it's not worth the cost yet lol.

Not worth updating at all, all those software features are available for the old version as well. Plus there is no need to charge via USB c, the old version is charging fast aswell.
Further, you can change the scroll behavior using the button which is under the scroll wheel to make it feel fluent. The flow feature is available for the old version as well... You should deal with the product before comparing it, people are going to waste 100$
I agree 👌
@Thatshow ED At the time I wrote this comment there was a pretty wide gap between the cost of each mouse.

Left handed people are like....
Yeah, 10$ mice are fine too
This is so annoying, mx vertical is also just for right handed people 🙄
I’m a lefty and I still use right handed mice for gaming and regular use mostly cause good mice are right only D: if I started using lefty mice I would probably be even better than I already am oof.
Why is being left handed so hard
I'm a southpaw and never used a left handed mouse. I find left hand is better controlling movements on a keyboard.
Sswineamer69 I think using a left hand mouse would be more stable if we used it. Or personally for me it would feel more stable but so much stuff is made for right hand people and literally everything everywhere is mostly for right handed people so that’s a rip.
Lou, I know that you know that the previous generations of the MX Master also had an unlockable scroll wheel. You've mentioned it in all your previous videos about the MX master series.

I think you missed the small print. It probably says somewhere on the box that you can only use it 2 hours a day for it to last that long. Just a logitech marketing gimmick. - A MX Master owner.
@@RaynerDaCruz Definitely missed that. Thanks for clarifying.👍
I bought this just for the USB-C. Worth every penny.

I don't think it is worth it to upgrade from a older mx master even the master 1, but if you are new go for the 3.
I Agree. Although I did make an upgrade from MX 2s and haven't looked back. Don't upgrade if your'e on the budget, but if money is not an issue, go for it. It's a nice improvement
Wow - you guys have me so excited about this mouse. We in SA have a short wait so i cant wait to get my hands on the MX Master 3
I've been using the 'MX' line of Logitech mice for getting on 15 years now, since the MX Revolution in 2006, the Performance MX n 2009, and the Master range since 2015. They're phenomenal mice, and really helps keep my RSI in check.
Buuuut on the 2s when you turn of the scroll lock it makes zero noise 🤷🏽♂️
@Unbox Therapy: MX Master 2 tap the botton behind the wheel for extra smoothness
I love Will’s stoic demeanor. 😂
The 2S has most of this stuff. The Logitech flow and the smooth scroll and everything. The main difference was the side buttons and grip style
I think you would make a better comedian than a tech reviewer.

Sells it for £100
Mx Master 2s: still £100
ik the pricing is so stupid. They should have dropped the price 50 bucks on the MX Master 2.
So nobody noticed the fart at 5:47? Lmao
The 2nd gen wheel isn't always like that... You can change it in settings and even change is so that if you scroll slow it's like that but if you scroll it fast it's smooth, 2x is just as good
All 3 gens have the same features
Yep, insta dislike.
Lew: This is a Human hand
Willy: *Stunned* Oh! I didn't knew.
The humor and production quality puts this video on another level.
Wow, that magnetic scroll wheel makes the other one sound like a chainsaw in comparison.
You Beaut
True, but tapping that button below the wheel turns off the rigid scrolling. Something Lou for some reason didn't feel compelled to do lol
@@Duplex39 The previous MX Masters also have a function, where if you spin the wheel fast enough, it automatically switches to freespin mode. Kind of misrepresented the previous gen in the video
put a scroll wheel between those big fat tiddies and pretend you're carrying around a massive ultra thicc pink and white version of the default logitech m100 in your shirt
2:52: this should be a meme 😂😂😂😂
was thinking the same thing lol
Here is the difference after i upgraded
2S:
- Micro USB
- Rubbercoated scrollwheels, mechanical controlled brake for wheel ratchet mode
- Decent side scroll wheel, back/forward placed inconveniently behind the wheel and feels tiny.
- Great palmfit. Wide and nice
- Thumbutton needs a bit pressure to trigger.
MX Master 3:
- USB-C charging
- All-metal scroll wheels. Magnetic controlled for ratchet breaks (pros: more durable, heavy, no lint, dirt / Cons: more slippy)
- LARGER sidescroll, phat and heavy resistance. Buttons now more conveniently positioned under
- Is more narrow construted for the palm this time.
Oh well..
1:50 "Can you find a better pocket for your thumb?" LOLOL
Im disappointed in myself lol
