I agree with @monica m. Also, I could see the water standing on top of some of your strands when the hair was still wet, whereas the Curlsmith did not. Therefore I can see why the Curlsmith left more moisture and less frizz. Also, the Curlsmith side looks better dry. Don’t get me wrong, both sides are beautiful.
I also loved the results of curl smith when I first used it. But please read reviews. Over time I noticed shedding. The longer I used it the more shedding I got so I read some reviews to see if others had explained the same thing and sure enough there were. It also caused shedding in my daughters hair so we went back to olaplex. I just wanted to let you know. It happens over time. And I know it was that because we were consistent with products that was the only thing that we changed.
The causes of hair loss are so numerous that I could see some people having issues while others do not. I've been using the Curlsmith for MONTHS without issue, but I will continue to observe.
Great review! I can't use curlsmith cos the protein is too much for my hair, but I think it's a great cost effective option for people who need that protein. I gotta stick to olaplex (which really saved my hair!)
I believe I read that Olaplex and Curl Bond are two different products that can't be compared. Also Olaplex is in Ulta now so you can get points for it too.
Olaplex is good for dyeing the hair the hair too. it prevents further damage, makes the hair strong, healthier and also help mend some of the previous damage. I use #1 and 2 once a month and # 3 during the other weeks. Some people may be protein sensitive. I give myself protein treatment every 6 weeks. I use the Mills Creek botanical. All of these products are very good.
Great review, Achia! I just bought curlsmith bond curl rehab salve and plan to try it this week - 2 fl oz at Ulta for $12. I have fine, high porosity hair and I'm very excited to see results. It's become clear to me that my hair will not succeed without protein or protein like ingredients (henna, bond smoother, etc). I haven't used Olaplex 0 or 3 yet. But, I love, love Olaplex 6 bond smoother leave -in!
I’ve tried both. CurlSmith works best on my hair. I don’t loose much hair on wash day…even if I miss a wash day. CurlSmith really helps my hair develop the best natural curls; even if I blow dry and flat iron my hair, my hair will look great (little to no breakage). Olaplaex did not make any visible improvements to my hair. I’m not saying CurlSmith will work great for everyone; because, my sister did not see any visible difference when using CurlSmith.
They seem very similar. I've only used Olaplex so IDK how the Bond Curl will act on my hair. To me, I would think as long as you use at least one of them it will be a good addition to your regular regimen.
Olaplex 3 by itself doesn't do much for me either, I definitely have to use both 0 and 3. I have compared Curlsmith to Olaplex as well and I didn't see too much of a difference. So for me it comes down to economics. Obviously, you get more bang for the buck with the Curlsmith. How does MoKnowsHair elasticity treatment compare to these two?
I just recently tried olaplex no. 3 and I liked it. I used it two times to see what I thought. I noticed less shed hair and some strength I didn't have before. I live in a dry climate so I use a lot of moisturizing products. This helped me also add strength. I'll be trying the Curlsmith when I run out of olaplex. Thanks for the review.
You are the second influencer I've seen do this comparison, and your results were the same ... Bond Salve is 👑. I agree for Olaplex you do need to do both 0 and 3 together for the best results. But for me when I use Olaplex I splurge for an Olaplex Wash Day: 0, 3, 4, 5 or 8. Such a junkie I have 6 and 7 too. The 5 is fine as a conditioner, but I like 8 a little more.
To me the effects of a bonding treatment wouldn't be something you see right away after a wash day. Its meant to make your stronger over time, not necessarily softer/more hydrated, especially right after washing your hair? At least thats my understanding. Also I think Olaplex is supposed to be used on clean hair and shampooed again after using the product( but you did mention you've tried it multiple times so u know whats best for you).
Thank you so much for doing this comparison and sharing your thoughts on the products. I have both products. I have used Olaplex 0 and 3 and I like it. I got the Bond Salve during Ulta sale for $14.00 but I have not used it yet. I can't wait to use it on my hair to see if there is a difference.
Great video. Thank you! What exactly is the difference between a protein treatment and a bond treatment? I know everyone's hair may need different things but, in general, is a bond treatment a necessity? We always hear about the moisture/protein balance and how how those are the only two components of healthy hair. So, if a protein treatment gives protein, and a moisture treatment gives moisture, I don't understand what imbalance a bond treatment is supposed to correct. You do a great job of explaining things and breaking things down. I would love your help with this, please. Thank you.
Curlsmith made my hair feel week and snap off oddly enough. I never felt a difference with olaplex. So far the best treatment i ever has was kazama protein treatment. That stuff made my hair feel slick and smooth like i had good hair, that pink lotion and water hair🤣😭
I've tried both and the curlsmith gives my hair what it needs. I'll use the Olaplex up, but don't plan to repurchase. My curlsmith and stinky mo knows hair do a great job at a better price point.
I need to try something but my first experience with olaplex at a beauty salon several years ago was disastrous. I had matted rock-hard here that no one in my area knew how to straighten out. I couldn't even comb it and I was relaxed at the time but the column would not go through. I'm somewhat apprehensive about trying it again and I didn't want to do it then but it was being pushed by the stylist. Don't know what number she put on my hair.
I always wished my salon would use olaplex when I got highlights. But they dont offer it. My new stylist saus she can do highlights with a lot less damage cant wait to try next time. When you have curls you beed damage control innany way possible☺.
Thank you so much for this valuable feedback!!
Thank you for watching!!!
Your hair looks fantabulous! 😻😻😻😻
Thank you so much!
I love the CS bond salve. No need for olaplex for me.
Thanks for watching!

There’s definitely a noticeable difference coming through on camera. Curlsmith seems like the best option
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The Curlsmith side looked much smoother and hydrated.
Thank you for noticing! That's why I wanted to share the visual and not just tell you all what I observed.
I like both but the Curlsmith is a protein treatment so they are different. Twist now has a bond strengthening deep conditioner. I liked it.
Thanks for sharing!

Yikes!
That’s a problem!

I thought u was lying but it made my hair feel weak as hell! The best treatment is kazama but its discontinued.

They are different. Olaplex does not have protein and Curl-smith do.
Thank you. All these Olaplex vs Curl Smith videos are dishonest because the two function differently
Curlsmith uses Chia Protein, which when compared to Olaplex's strengtheners is comparable.
🤔 I use the OG Millcreek Botanicals Keratin Conditioner but this Olaplex vs. Curlsmith news intrigues me. I may try them now that they're in Ulta.

I have to say that Olaplex 3 has been disappointing with my latest breakage. Good old Aphogee 2 step was more helpful- and less wallet breaking
Is step 2 the treatment or the conditioner?
@@jennyrose9454 The really strong treatment that hardens in your hair.
@@eyekandy3000 oh yes. I have it just haven't tried it yet I'm scared lol
@@jennyrose9454 it really works. Just don’t use it more than every six weeks
Curlsmith is better by a landslide
Bought it tried it and love it. Yes you are right! it is a different (better) feeling on my hair than Olaplex. New fav!
It really is!

Agreed

I'd say I get actual strengthening with MoKnowsHair, so these don't replace that for me.

Maybe that's what I need to see really good results with Olaplex, a full wash day, but that price tag...
@@ALove4Me I understand, I'm a Sephora Lady so I get the package set deals and the points 🤑
There is also K18 which i heard is even better. It’s good to have options. Thanks for the advice☀️

Olaplex was ‘just okay’ on my hair. I never tried Curlsmith so let me go to Ulta now. Thanks and twist out.

After a month of using I do see less breakage
But this makes me want to try curl smith
Thanks for sharing!
