I lived in the US for a few years (moved from Australia) and for the last two years had an F150 Raptor. It was as you rightly said, it does everything and puts a smile on your face every time you drive it - I was lucky enough to drive it hard off-road in Utah and Arizona and it blew me away with its capabilities. I moved back to Australia in December, and was disappointed to not have anything similar here (sorry, the 2.0 diesel does not count in my books). I jumped on an order as soon as I saw the ranger raptor revealed with the same DNA is its F150 brethren. Cannot wait to get back in the drivers seat behind another raptor. Those who will only drive it on-road will really be missing out. I ordered black, and yes, it will be scratched up and dirty all the time - but not a pavement princess. We ordered from the same dealer, maybe I'll see you there on pickup day :D
I am envious of your experience around driving the F150. Reality check - here in OZ we are approaching $3 per litre when excise resumes - who can afford to punt such a vehicle around without a total disregard for the cost to do so? In the States you had the pleasure of "cheap"fuel, back here in OZ, you will hurt.
@@trickster8635 Certainly petrol in the US was a lot cheaper so its less of a thing but not completely out of mind. I did a 35K mile road trip last year in our raptor and spent thousands on fuel, but those are memories I'll treasure forever.

I’m in Canada and have been eagerly waiting for this truck for 3 years when I first got wind it may possibly come here. I used to drive a full sized Ford F-150 but in the mountains where we live the trails are too tight so a midsize makes more sense to access our favorite mountain bike and hiking trails. I can’t wait to hear more about this truck from reviewers to satiate my desire to have one until we actually receive them here in Canada. Knowing you guys get them soon is bitter sweet. Wow, the shaking that the inside camera showed while you were passenger at high speed off road, almost looks the same as what a Hilux would look like on a normal road. 😂 😂 😂
Awesome review Paul! I giggled like a little kid when I heard the sound of the exhaust in Baja mode. Ordered my black Raptor the day they were announced in NZ. Replacing a black 2021 2.0 diesel version, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Delivery scheduled for early Oct. Can’t wait!
There being no diesel option for the new raptor, I had my doubts about how well it would actually sell, but with the price of diesel here in australia and no sign of it coming down anytime soon. I’ve changed my tune abit, I reckon it won’t do too bad at all
October delivery for me and Conquer Grey, I really wanted the hero colour. Got the bead lock wheel option, spray in bed. Not going to do too much to it. I'm not really a fan of the ARB options. My previous Raptor had a 2 inch lift, 35's and an offeoad animal front bar with Warn winch
After watching this Paul I went and put my deposit down on a blue one, shame out the 12 month wait but sounds like it will be well worth it ! Can’t wait for your full review mate
Thanks for the teaser review Paul! I can't wait till you get your hands on one for a detailed review. I am planning to update my Hilux in the next few years to the new Raptor and I am eagerly waiting for reviews and a 'test of time' review to see how the components and reliability of these new models... BTW I am after a Blue Raptor...
Have ordered and am waiting on my Raptor, was due Sept bu5 now Feb23 which is fine as it may see bugs reviewed by the time mine comes through. I have ordered White for ease of business signage but the Aluminium Silver with darker grey accents (door handles, front bar treatment etc) against a dark tint looks amazing, so I’m torn. Cant wait to get mine though.
Ordered the conquer grey beginning of the year, initially told august 5th, then September 5th and now September 10th. Lets hope they stick it on a boat. John at Seaview Ford Clarckson WA is a top bloke to deal with.
Such a pleasure watching you really enjoy yourself - makes me as excited about the Raptor and I’m not even buying one 😂 It also sounded so good, and looks like a tonne of fun to throw around off-road! Great video 👌
Ordered/deposit placed back in Nov last year before they were unveiled. Have a black one coming in mid-late September also…. Hopefully no further delays! 🙏
I've used and abused my 2018 Ranger Raptor for 110,000km and have ordered a next gen... no idea yet when it'll come BUT the wait will be 100% worth it. Never before have I had a dual cab ute that'll comfortably whop the speed limiter on dirt... this next one will be utterly mental!!!!!
As a 79 series owner, I'm really curious to know how this car compares to it, especially off-road as I believe the raptor has a front and rear diff as well. I drove the previous model raptor and although it had the right idea with the diesel set up it just was lacking power. On the new Raptor, I would've instantly put my money down if this had the same capacity engine, but in diesel. Clearly that hasn't deterred anyone away from it, judging by the wait times for orders. I am anxious to see your review when you get yours Paul and will test drive one for sure at my local dealership and if the drive and quality is as good as you say, then I might place an order myself in shadow black - a colour that is for some reason never offered in any 70 series line up. Now that would be a nice line up, a raptor in black and a sandy taupe 79 side by side. 🤙🏼
Great video Paul! I drove the current gen Ranger in Tremor trim here in the states, really liked it, I can only imagine this new Ranger Raptor being on another level! Hello from Florida ! Love to go Australia one day!

Love your content, good work. I'm on my second current model ranger raptor and absolutely love them. My current one is black and I've also ordered the new gen raptor in black ofcourse, When I was at my local ford dealership in the 15 minutes I was there, 3 other people came in enquiring about the new raptors, these things are going to be very, very popular. Looking forward to your future videos on the raptors, Cheers mate.
I've driven at loveday multiple times with different types of military vehicles and it was awesome. Can only imagine how much fun you had with a raptor!
Watching from the US, jealous you all get it before we can snag a left hand drive one for us in the states. I have a ‘20 Ranger with some suspension/tires upgrades, but this looks like it’s on a whole other level! Can’t wait until they start popping up over here, great video Paul!
Ordered a Meteor Grey Raptor. Can't wait for delivery. Am disappointed the dealer can't give me details on tray covers available and also details on the decal pack?
Such a pity Ford didn't push for the Everest version. I know they didn't get customer buy-in from their focus group but I suspect that's because they currently don't have those customers buying an Everest - and they never will unless they build it.
Ordered one after your live q&a in May. Originally lightning blue but changed to conquer grey. The orange is growing on me though. Probably early next year for delivery.
Hi Paul - I am in South Africa and had one of the first Ford Ranger 3.0d that came into the country and found the ride really hard so upgraded to one of the first Ford Everest's in the country. I have now put my name down and paid a deposit for the new Ford Ranger Raptor's when released. Looking forward to this new beast and thanks for your reviews that I am watching with anticipation
What most people would like to know is the cost of ownership, real world fuel figures and even some mid range towing tests perhaps. The suspension makes sense to me not everyone wants to tow 3.5 Tonnes, 2.5 Tonnes is fine for a lot of towing. Being a petrol engine it has to make sense in terms of fuel consumption etc. The comparison people will make is the Ranger V6 diesel vs the Raptor V6 petrol in terms of real world cost of ownership etc IMO
@markyes diesel gets you further per litre. how far are you going to take petrol ranger before it needs a fill. not important when your in the city on a construction site but if your out in the bush doing some off-roading, it will be important. That's one thing Dean is saying.
Great video Paul as usual. After having the PX1 and PX2 Wildtrack utes both in orange I have ordered the new Raptor in Alimunium Metallic. Have requested a early 2023 model. I have plates already ordered “V6RAPTR”
It's 2am here in Africa and I'm up watching this 😅. Doing jumps at 130kph, that's extreme and only a raptor suspension can handle it. Try and do that in a Wildtrak you'll have to be towed home 😂. And September is kinda close for the delivery time of your car. Otherwise this is an excellent car review. Keep it up
Thanks for meeting your commitment on the Raptor review mate 🍻. Now that I know urs is awaited sometime in September I am guessing the "wait time" theory is right. I'll go for Code Orange and then some uplifts 😈...its the most prominent color IMO and I guess thats the signature color too for the new Raptor. Question for you: Since there are no Raptors available to test drive in Melbourne, is it a fair comparison to test drive the v6 Ranger? just to get the drive experience? In complete honestly I don't think anyone who is sold for the Raptor is gonna be disappointed in it after the test drive so another thought says just go ahead and book it...what do u say?
Fuel efficiency in different modes and overall. Also compared to the last generation Raptor, fuel efficiency in different modes ie Baja, would be nice to know.
I would love to have a diesel V6 wildtrack with some of the raptor's features (front diff lock, off-road modes, paddle shifters, upgraded dampers/suspension and reinforced chassis). But with full payload capacity and all the other comforts of the wildtrack. That would make for the ultimate touring rig.
Will stick with my current gen 1 for now. I intend crossing Australia in it so access to fuel is a concern. If they put a V6 diesel in the new one I’d be all over it like a rash!
Paul - great content, you been so up-to date and amazing reviews, I have booked one - pushed to Oct 2022, hope to get one soon Conquer Grey - moving from a Jeep Wrangler JLUR. My only concern is Fuel capacity VS outback driving VS availability of RON98 at outback Aus VS ( eg crossing Simpsons) Also I am not keen adding any additional fuel tanks - as it changes the FOX shock tune (my guess )- whats your view about this - Few Questions >Signalling and Wiper control sides - differs in US & Asian car make, ford being US made in Thailand ?? >Right hand resting on the window edge - is there enough space >Park Assist - will the car go into a park mode when your in D and open the door > Auto Start Stop - I that active in the car , is there a permanent disable option > Spare wheel - Full size tyre with Original wheels ? > Rear view side mirrors - fold back or have that option
Am thinking of buying one of these when readily available so enjoy the videos you have been able to show so far, and looking forward to full tests in a month or so
I have the last current Raptor and love the off road ability. Looking forward to picking up my new Rapter end of September. Ordered White so not to show up the marks. Taking my current Raptor across the Simpson desert in a couple of weeks . I broke the front diff in the dunes at Robe on my current Raptor.
Nice review, I was actually lucky enough to go for a ride in the black one at Loveday back in March and only live 5 mins from this 4x4 park, I'll definitely be putting it though its paces out there when mine finally arrives, 3rd of Sept at this stage.
Don't get too excited, try buying just about any new car in Australia now and your told waiting lists are blowing out to over 12 months wait now. That new car once you get it will already be a year old. Let's hope it's heavily discounted.
It’s the same thing in the US. What they’re doing here is giving you the next model year. They stopped all Bronco orders by mid February on all 2023 models to try to catch up. Shortages are mad everywhere including the chips needed for electronics & cars and even food.
I've only had a couple of performance vehicle's in my day but I've been holding out to test drove one in the states... I've been a big fan of Rangers since my first one in 2001 and have owned one ever since! Looking forward to see maybe if this beast will be added as well!
Hi Paul great review, I have a Sodona Orange one ordered, delivery has changed again to early September but I am number 1 on the list to receive it on the sunshinecoast in Queensland so I can't wait also picked up personalised plates as well which are RAPTR 1

Just walked into ford today, another two years for the raptor to arrive. Must say the wait looks more than worthy to do so.
Hi, have you got your MY yet? keen for another video on this.
Coming in a week!
Will stick with my current gen 1 for now. I intend crossing Australia in it so access to fuel is a concern. If they put a V6 diesel in the new one I’d be all over it like a rash!
Ordered a CO late April. Great pre-liminary review. Can't wait for the real world review.
Thanks! Hoping to drive one properly on our own soon.
Paul - great content, you been so up-to date and amazing reviews, I have booked one - pushed to Oct 2022, hope to get one soon Conquer Grey - moving from a Jeep Wrangler JLUR.
My only concern is
Fuel capacity VS outback driving VS availability of RON98 at outback Aus VS ( eg crossing Simpsons)
Also I am not keen adding any additional fuel tanks - as it changes the FOX shock tune (my guess )- whats your view about this -
Few Questions
>Signalling and Wiper control sides - differs in US & Asian car make, ford being US made in Thailand ??
>Right hand resting on the window edge - is there enough space
>Park Assist - will the car go into a park mode when your in D and open the door
> Auto Start Stop - I that active in the car , is there a permanent disable option
> Spare wheel - Full size tyre with Original wheels ?
> Rear view side mirrors - fold back or have that option
When will these be available to order in US?
This is a beast 🔥 actually l love Ford ranger pick up trucks 🇲🇼
Am thinking of buying one of these when readily available so enjoy the videos you have been able to show so far, and looking forward to full tests in a month or so
I have the last current Raptor and love the off road ability. Looking forward to picking up my new Rapter end of September. Ordered White so not to show up the marks. Taking my current Raptor across the Simpson desert in a couple of weeks . I broke the front diff in the dunes at Robe on my current Raptor.
Ordered code orange in early May, delivery expected March 2023 🤨
Yew!~
Awesome stuff Paul !!! I can’t wait to drive it 😁🤙🏼
Nice review, I was actually lucky enough to go for a ride in the black one at Loveday back in March and only live 5 mins from this 4x4 park, I'll definitely be putting it though its paces out there when mine finally arrives, 3rd of Sept at this stage.
Nice one! At least you know it's built to handle that joint!
whats the fuel economy like ?
Don't get too excited, try buying just about any new car in Australia now and your told waiting lists are blowing out to over 12 months wait now. That new car once you get it will already be a year old. Let's hope it's heavily discounted.
Lol fat chance of that mate. Join the queue or miss out. These will be banned in 7 years
I picked up my new Dmax a couple of weeks ago after waiting 14 months for it... Good thing is that Isuzu delivered the newest model (2022)...
It’s the same thing in the US. What they’re doing here is giving you the next model year. They stopped all Bronco orders by mid February on all 2023 models to try to catch up. Shortages are mad everywhere including the chips needed for electronics & cars and even food.
Can’t wait for mine in Code Orange mate. The next couple of months will be torture waiting for it to get here. Great video and cheers 👌
So does this over sized wild track also have transmission issues and tail shaft vibrations?
Only watching the vid for enjoyment. You guys have done fantastic job!
Just wondering if u own a previous gen ranger raptor...is it possible to facelift it into this...just exterior btw
Got a Code Orange Ranger Raptor on order. Looking forward to it
Code Orange looks great in person!
I got a blue one, early next year. So lots of waiting. :(
Now wondering if VW will do an Amarok R line version of the Raptor 🤔🤔🤔
