Looks great Paul! I’m very interested in getting a new raptor once they’re out. I’d love to see how it handles technical climbs up rocks or similar and see the articulation etc doing slow 4x4 work!
Hey Paul, Put it on a dyno and see how close FORD are with the claimed power and torque figures. 292kw... surely they could have squeezed 8 more out and got to 300.
Congratulations! Whilst the Raptor and indeed any Ford are not available in my market (Japan), I quite like this vehicle. I learnt about it first through the 'Goonzquad' channel here on UA-cam. One of the things that they mentioned was the lack of towing capacity. I would like to see you evaluate it as a towcar. I'm pretty sure that you will likely take it off-road, but what many channels don't do is take it on a regular shopping trip into a town/city. Even if you are a keen off-roader, you are very likely going to use the same vehicle in between expeditions and weekend jaunts off-road. That would be interesting I think.
I've got one ordered too. I actually decided to buy it after watching your videos on it, so very keen to see your first impressions as I'll be waiting a little while!
Looks like this will be a weapon of a Ute, can’t wait to see this put through its paces at inskip point towing a camper or a boat. Also don’t skimp in accessories, would love to see real world impressions of the ARB gear
What I'd like to know about the Raptor; interior noise levels/decibel readins at highway speeds, comfort level, 0-100 km and if it's possible to get roof rack and roller shutter cover over the bed like in the Wildtrak. If you want my opinion of what color to go for, I'd say Sedona Orange or Aluminium.
Hey Paul, it was mentioned in one of your.vids.a particular test raptor had over 150000k on it, are you aware of any fundamental engine/drivetrain issues ford might have had in this period?. My gay blue raptor arrives early august, feeling festive!. Cheers, Brad, WA.
Do the indicators work? I’ve noticed a significant proportion of Rangers don’t use them so I was wondering if they might have a design flaw , or is it the drivers 🤔😉
Paul, you are a natural at this, and so easy to listen to and no fluff and waffle. Thoroughly enjoy your videos, so keep them coming! .... and Red. Has to be Red! Or Black. Hang on, maybe gunmetal grey? .... ok, a Raptor with that engine - any colour will do!
Nice choice Paul, I currently have a black XLT with 3.2 and love driving it tossing up to upgrade to Raptor or another XLT with V6 diesel, The V6 turbo petrol is a great choice (I used to have XR6 Turbo and loved that engine) but bit worried about the high fuel usage nowadays, this is the type of engine the older model should have had, I would have loved to see the V6 Diesel option for Raptor, would be a no brainer to get this, also xtra cab Raptor variant, same as they do in the US with F150 Raptor, this would be my choice with V6 Diesel, stick that 2.0L back in the crate it should never have come out of. But being a Halo car for ford, it needs a unique engine with power, FORD listened and delivered FINALLY an engine worth of the Performance badging. Aluminium Metallic looks great in photos, but you would have to go Code Orange as it's unique to the Raptor, not sure if the Aluminium Metallic is the same as Aluminium being offered on the Wildtrack the 360 view the Aluminium metallic and Sedona looked real nice, I notice the 360 view on website the colours have slightly changed, Sedona looks less metallic and a bit boring. I cant wait to see Toyota's piss weak attempt to tart up a Hilux with some more stickers and make it look even uglier than the current Rogue, and charge the same amount as a Raptor, I bet there's been some worried meetings at Toyota recently, some will say Hilux unbreakable, load of bull I know plenty of guys with current Hilux who have issues with them.
I want to see you do a video of taking it down tight suburban streets and alleys with cars on both sides, then along a road with a heap of speed bumps, then into a crowded shopping centre car park, and anything else a regular city driver would do.
I ordered one today in black, definitely keen to see if the 2500kg tow rating has a aftermarket upgrade like loadhogs or airbags, but not counting on it. Drag race with the old one would be fun to see as well 😂
I'd like to see an off road ute comparison. See how much better the Raptor really is off road than a generic 4x4 duel cab. The cost to upgrade other utes to match it's prowess in this field could well justify the Raptor price.
Just keep the vids flowing. We won't see this truck in Canada until at least the end of this year, likely early next year. Very interested, with the new canyon/colorado AT4X/ZR2 redesign this could make for a very interesting cross shop.
I know this is the newer platform but I really enjoy my 2020 Bi turbo Everest sport and the ford dealer has been great with post sales servicing etc. So hope you enjoy your new Ranger. P.s. I must have watched your review on the Everest a hundred times while waiting for it to be delivered. Keep up the great vids!
Hey Paul. I’d really like you to test multichannel surround music playback on the B&O system in the Raptor. I’m in for a next-Gen Everest and want to add the B&O system but it seems Ford B&O’s play multichannel (5.1) in stereo only. I reported my tests (Mustang Sync 4 B&O failed) to Ford AU support but I’ve been told to test in an Everest when they arrive. But the issue is also in Sync 3 B&O models too (test two models with B&O). It needs to be fixed so sooner an AU user reports the issue in the next-Gen Ranger or Everest the sooner it can be fixed - I hope.
Can you leave the truck in quiet mode and still have all the performance benefits? Coming from a 600hp NA LS3 with exhaust, I am sick and tired of loud performance vehicles.
Please advise in detail about raptor’s towing capacity, I’d like to use it to tow my caravan too! Also, when are the guys from Ford going to start taking orders? Many thanks!, great work you do to keep customers updated on time!
Would also love to see a comparison between current and new Raptor. Especially also focusing on the on road aspect. Would love to see aspects such as comfort, handling etc. Most reviews only focus on the off road element. But what makes the car great off road, makes it good on road, in theory. Congratulations. I actually sold my wildtrak, bought a Raptor (2 week ago) and had go give it back due to defects (dealers fault). I'm waiting on another Raptor and thereafter go for the new v6
I’m sure you’ll love it Paul! If I was a twin cab fan boy, I’d have this top of my list. Ford Australia got into trouble some time ago in relation to showing I think the Everest all loaded up with, was it ARB accessories in their advertising brochure? In particular the roof rack loaded up with way too much gear for it’s apparent carrying capacity/rating. Consumers were offered either a one off payment, some $2,000 or no cost servicing(?)for a time frame as it was deemed misleading.
Watching all the F150 lightening reviews, makes everything with the new Ranger look 20years old. we are so far behind what the US get. I hope Ford bring in the lightening here to Australia along with the rest of the F150 range.
I was just hoping that they'd bring in the 2.3 Ecoboost for the Ranger as well as the diesels for the Australian/NZ market. But alas seems we're going to miss out again.
Hello Paul, congratulations on the new truck! I had a lot of different color vehicles, so I hope they try to incorporate the bronco colors into the Ranger Raptor, that saying I haven’t had Desert Sand, Eruptions Green, or Silver. What I’m trying to say is, I try not have the same color vehicle. As far as plates go everybody is different?
Need to take it off road and test it stock I mean slow off roading then you need to weigh the raptor with full tank then fuel how much to a tank local shops school run to work then a trip up the Hume sitting on 110 then slow off roading and if you can find somewhere to test baja mode maybe from Birdsville to Bathurst. Then the usual car review. If you can find a 2 tonne camper or off road hybrid because that’s all they are made for and check fuel consumption towing up the Hume or a weekend away to high country check to see if all those vents work to keep the engine cool. Load up tent and fridge and food water for a boys weekend and weigh it off as well 4 men see how comfortable is for that many blokes. If you add accessories weigh the raptor after each part is fitted with full tank this will give your viewers a great idea to see what the car is capable of. Might need to add a dual battery system maybe a slimline behind the back seat, if you get the chance a rear cover like pj,s lift up cover it’s insane if they have one for the new raptor because if you put a canopy on you won’t have much payload left. Brings me to the next point are arb making a gvm upgrade for the raptor because with all those accessories on the one you took to the high country how much payload did you have left I think with a payload of 688 can’t afford to put much accessories especially if towing if a camper is 1800 kgs and a tow ball of 180 goes on the raptor and yourself you are only left with 400-430 left be nice to know the sweet spot for towing unfortunately I am purchasing a single axle camper that weighs around 2150 with a ball weight of 220 kgs and I don’t think the suspension will handle that kind of weight. I really wanted a ranger raptor but I don’t think it’s fit for purpose unfortunately the everest is in the same boat unless they do a gvm upgrade I think the platinum has a 640 payload so same will have to wait to see what happens love the content keep it up. PS might have to wait for the patrol warrior instead if it comes out at least you can get a axle group upgrade gvm is 3500 upgrade to 3680 which will cover the trailer down ball weight lots to wait for good luck look forward to see what’s up next
Paul do you think you'll get an ARB bullbar put on? Obviously you're not going to intentionally hit something. But if you do hit a roo or something. Could you let us know how the camera and parking sensors hold up?
Congrats on the Raptor. Any new on delivery for the Raptor and the other Next Gen models. Placed an order on the V6 Sport but everybody is getting concerned on the delays for delivery. As Ford updated the production Schedule?
Hi Paul, just wondering if the vehicle your riding in is the raptor petrol v6? It sounds bloody great! I've just started following you too and great video's btw and I even just ordered a code orange raptor yesterday so excited!!
Luv the videos.. Have ordered a Raptor myself, went with white, really would like to see the Code Orange in real life, mine will rarely see off road, it will just be my daily.. we have also ordered a WT V6T and currently own a WT 2LT BT which I quiet enjoy driving
Any of the Ranger Raptors you have seen have a winch cradle and winch fitted behind the front bar? As a prototype or not, wondering if there is enough room in there.
Hi Paul, slightly off topic question, I really want the Power of the Petrol (close to Raptor) but in the '23 Everest wagon. My understanding is that as part of the Everest release cycle a petrol will be released downstream. If that doesn't happen, i'll wish i pushed the button on the Raptor. Are you able to comment/confirm with possible timeline?
Hi, I am considering buying this car - I am not able to find any info on the generator feature, did they end up including the pro power onboard feature on this model? :)
Really just want to see how the Raptor stacks up against a Wildtrak diesel on a long tour fully loaded and towing. Specifically economy and pulling power.
Why is the engine so dirty? How can it be covered with road/off road splashes? I maybe ignorant of offroad driving but my 22 year pld Prado never had dirt splashed up all over the top of the engine! Was surprised to see this on a road test!
Is it true with prolonged exposure to water crossings and corrugations the electric steering rack fails and a new genuine ford ranger electronic steering rack costs 8 to 10 grand if you can find one ?
Fist up dyno numbers and aftermarket mappings for fuel economy and power towing a 3500kg loaded caravan. This twin turbo could be a nightmare on 98 octane usage costs when on tow load.
How is the interior space, front and back, in the new Ranger Raptor for taller people, say 6'2" (188cm about)? Congrats on the new ride! Totally jealous! Like others, I'd like to see how it does on some highly technical trails and racing through the whoops!
I would love to see you go on a trip and collaborate with key 4WD influencers; Ronny Dharl, The Explore Life, etc. be good to compare with things like the Toyotas which are known so well in Aus.
Would have like to have seen an outgoing video of your time with the Model 3. Similar to what you did with the Supra, best and worse ownership experiences. Looking forward to this one though!
Hi Paul, I've got a conundrum. I've got a D'Max X Terrain on order (due early in the new year), but can cancel and get a new 2022 XLT Ranger in about Oct this year. The Ranger is $10k more once the accessories I need are added. Do you think the XLT will be $10K better? I need it for towing a 3000kg van, things that are important to me are long term reliability (tick to D'Max), power (tick to Ranger) and driver seat comfort (about even, I guess). Thanks Gordon
Good question! I haven't had a proper drive of the new Ranger yet, so I'll need to reserve judgement. But if you're comparing a V6 diesel to a four-cylinder, it'd be a no brainer. The Ranger would have to be pretty bad to justify stepping back to a four-cylinder, especially if you're going to be towing 3000kg.
Thanks Paul, that's the way I'm leaning, if I can get the extra $10K past the missus. I'll be watching your Ranger review with great interest when it comes out!!
Would love to see you do a real 4WD trip on the CREB, Old Coach Road & OTT, cape York, Queensland, you will definitely need an aftermarket snorkel👍👍👍 let me know if you need a guide? I’ve got my Raptor ordered too.
So true. But I have a feeling most outback touring rigs will be diesel variants of the ute. Outback touring isnt really what the raptors designed for I dont think
Plenty of Y62 doing some of the remotest parts of the country. I honestly don't think last of fuel stops is an issue, especially if it can get by on Opal fuel.
So does the raptor come with dcdc charger installed? Or just the second battery tray and wiring already installed from factory. I've ordered the sport v6. They say there is room for second battery but not if there is wiring or tray. Would be great if the wiring is already installed.
Thanks Paul. I have mine ordered. I want to know if the new model has the outstanding active noise cancellation cabin and acoustic glass the 2018-2020 raptor had before ford removed it
Hey mate love the content, I’ve been following you since the Car Advice days! Cool choice with the Raptor purchase.. On paper it is probably one of the coolest utes available in this country other than the Ram TRX but not sure that ones very practical... I think the Raptor will be more than capable in most off-road situations judging by the last model.. but what I’d like to see is how it will perform on road, on your favourite set of twisties or on the race track for that matter.., given that the blacktop is where it will spend most of its time for most owners. Generally the down side to the 4by4 utes is the on road compromise, they get you from A to B ok but they aren’t much fun... hopefully the Raptor will be a different story!
Between this Carnival Platinum and Next Gen Ford Raptor, which one do you recon would suit a 40+ professional with 3 kids. My mind tells me Carnival is more useful daily, but mid life itch tells me to get a Raptor and go off road with my mate who is a Pro 4WD driver, hunter, downhill riding & fishermen. Which should I get??
Just wondering what the raptor and wildtrack are like in terms of child car seats. I have 3 kids so my next needs to be able to have 3 seats across the back comfortably. Any info on this would be excellent thanks.
I put a deposit down, can't wait for it and will stay tuned to your series, thanks for putting it together. My number plate suggestion for you is "CLVR GIRL" - Jurassic Park fans will know 😉
Couple of requests. 1. Drag challenge against the new diesel V6 ranger, as well as the current V6 Amarok would be good (from standing start, and a running start from say 80kph, as well as a brake test). Also, for spice, include a golf gti in the drag challenge too (just to see how far the raptor has come, maybe also have the previous gen raptor there too??). 2. Test the towing capability when the vehicle is loaded to maximum permissable weights (for vehicle and trailor in tow).
@@hotrod7603 garbage is an understatement, the SR5 I had was actually worse then the Ranger, I wouldn’t go back to either of these manufacturers after what I went through

hi Paul, I think these bespoke videos are fantastic. i think you should keep the raptor stock other than a UHF radio and fridge etc and shows us how capable it really is without all of the toys. Birdsville big red or somewhere similar I think would be a fair test. also I think you should buy a white one.
Looks great Paul! I’m very interested in getting a new raptor once they’re out.
I’d love to see how it handles technical climbs up rocks or similar and see the articulation etc doing slow 4x4 work!
Yes! Should have some more content on that soon.
Hey Paul, Put it on a dyno and see how close FORD are with the claimed power and torque figures. 292kw... surely they could have squeezed 8 more out and got to 300.
Stated specs are flywheel specs. Wheel specs would be a good bit less.
Would like to see what the car is capable of when it is stock. Do a difficult track of some sort.
Yep good point.
So u mean a regular ranger stock or raptor stock
he would as long as you pay the insurance excess LOLLZZZ

Congrats on your new pride and joy! Make sure to have fun with it!
Thanks mate!
congrats paul and i really love this car because it's more exciting than the ongoing model because australian workers do such a fantastic job
Couldn't agree more!

It needs to be fixed so sooner an AU user reports the issue in the next-Gen Ranger or Everest the sooner it can be fixed - I hope.

Hopefully they improved the V6 Diesel as they used to snap cranks as they were not strong enough.
Why is the engine so dirty? How can it be covered with road/off road splashes? I maybe ignorant of offroad driving but my 22 year pld Prado never had dirt splashed up all over the top of the engine! Was surprised to see this on a road test!
You’re not driving hard enough 😂
Really hoping the 10 speed gearbox isnt pure garbage like the last one.
Awesome choice Paul! I think I'd like to see running costs and off road performance. And day to day living with a Raptor. :)
Any idea on your ETA yet?
I’d like to see/know whether it’s possible to fit bull bar, winch and driving lights to the new Raptor.
Hi Paul love your work mate. Thank you for doing these vids its hugely appreciated.
Thanks for watching mate!
If possible also please also run a towing test to see how it behaves in Australian territory!
Congrats m8.
So tell us what was the price for you..?
Best I had so far I western Australia is $94.400
Would have like to have seen an outgoing video of your time with the Model 3. Similar to what you did with the Supra, best and worse ownership experiences. Looking forward to this one though!
Saw one of the camouflage raptors the other day, quite impressive. Looking forward to this new series.
Congratulations. For a custom plate maybe ‘TALON’ or ‘TALONS’, the word/s for the claws of a raptor! They’re available now. Be quick. Cheers, Jeff. 👍😀
Please do a road trip holiday across Australia...to checkout long distance travel comfort and fuel efficiency
I ordered a raptor a few weeks back. Feb 2023 delivery 😒 so slow….. sigh….
Would love to see you do a real 4WD trip on the CREB, Old Coach Road & OTT, cape York, Queensland, you will definitely need an aftermarket snorkel👍👍👍 let me know if you need a guide? I’ve got my Raptor ordered too.
would like to see what the fuel consumption is like when you drive 10km to work and 10km back with some stops and go's
Hello Paul do you know if the Everest will be available in the UK ? Thanks
Nice. Put my deposit down on a new Raptor in blue last Friday. Told I was about no. 40 on the order list for a Raptor at just that dealer.
Going to be a problem if it's taken into the outback - Petrol can be pretty hard to find
I would like to see if you can tow a caravan with the Raptor. I love the car but the XLT is on paper better for towing. Can it be done with your car?
Go orange great colour for ford really does make the car pop.
So does the raptor come with dcdc charger installed? Or just the second battery tray and wiring already installed from factory. I've ordered the sport v6. They say there is room for second battery but not if there is wiring or tray. Would be great if the wiring is already installed.
I want to see a comparison with some of the heavy hitters. Hilux, Cruiser, Patrol etc
Maybe a test on all stock ranger raptor with max payload capacity at a very steep half km rocky slope both upwards and downwards… that would be nice
I'm hoping this does actually come to the States. It's exactly everything that I want.
Congrats Paul, appreciate for sharing, I ordered Code Orange one, do hope I could get it before Xmas.
Please do make a comparison with the new Toyota V6..
I would love see the fuel milage, granted the current fuel price situation. Has Ford managed to get power and doesn't guzzle too hard.
My number plate suggestion for you is "CLVR GIRL" - Jurassic Park fans will know 😉
What colour did you order?? And how much for deposit?
@@munkskyline17 just $1,000 down, thinking of going with hero orange...or maybe white with some aftermarket old school stripes 👍
@@aquaduck8439 I'm thinking of the code orange 🍊 but I dunno if it looks good in person. I'm currently leaning on conquer grey.
I saw it at the all Ford day in Geelong and loved it. Pretty full on though...not for everyone! Conquer grey is a safe bet.
Full ARB kit out and take it to the Cape and Simpson Dessert doing all the tracks.
Wonder if Ford are upgrading roof rails so they can carry what they advertise on them rather than having to refund when they did the wrong thing?
Maybe a comparison between your raptor and a v8 converted raptor
Looking forward to how you build it mate
😄
Couple of requests. 1. Drag challenge against the new diesel V6 ranger, as well as the current V6 Amarok would be good (from standing start, and a running start from say 80kph, as well as a brake test). Also, for spice, include a golf gti in the drag challenge too (just to see how far the raptor has come, maybe also have the previous gen raptor there too??). 2. Test the towing capability when the vehicle is loaded to maximum permissable weights (for vehicle and trailor in tow).
Nice shade of lemon suits most Fords
I guess you drive a garbage toyota ?
* Toyota dealer enters the chat * 😂
@@hotrod7603 garbage is an understatement, the SR5 I had was actually worse then the Ranger, I wouldn’t go back to either of these manufacturers after what I went through
@@shawsie5780 everyone told me that JEEP were rubbish, didnt stop me buying one, and guess what, it wasn't rubbish. One of the best cars ive owned.
@@martyknezevic7610 Everyone told me the Amarok was rubbish so I bought one and it’s been the best car I’ve ever had, Hundred thousand problem free kilometres
Was the 510km range shown realistic? I see it will run on different grades of fuel.
hi Paul, I think these bespoke videos are fantastic. i think you should keep the raptor stock other than a UHF radio and fridge etc and shows us how capable it really is without all of the toys. Birdsville big red or somewhere similar I think would be a fair test. also I think you should buy a white one.
