Guy doesn’t get enough credit for his amazing songwriting as well as singing ability. He often goes unnoticed when mentioning some of the best singers and songwriters of all time in country music. To this day he’s still one of my favorites and I love listening to his music.
Wow, I lived in East Orange New Jersey in 1970 to 1975. I also dropped out of school at 16 years old. I smoked 2 packs a day for four years and stopped when I was pregnant. Didn't start back but it wasn't easy. I'm much younger than him. I followed his music and shows. Thanks for the video and memories.
Eddie was a major force in BOTH Country and pop music. His voice, stage presence and musicianship remain unmatched. I agree totally that he didn’t get the credit he deserved as a songwriter and performing. As a former disc jockey, I never had the opportunity to meet him, but I heard from more than a few people that he was kind and endearing person. His music will live on forever and bring smiles to us all with his talent. Miss you, Eddie!
Wow! I had no idea that he passed away shortly after I saw him in concert in Nevada (State Line) around 1996. R.I.P. Mr. Eddie Rabbit. A really great song writer and performer!
My first concert. Eddie Rabbitt and The Righteous Brothers(circa 1983) I remember The Righteous Brothers( I’m assuming the bass in their voice) being so loud, I covered my ears in my Aunts and Moms lap. But boy oh boy when Eddie took the stage I was smitten with him and music! My dear Momma loved Eddie Rabbit and now both of them have passed on. I love coming across this stuff because it reminds me of days gone by and my dear Momma! ❤ 7:04
Christie thanks for sharing. The bass voice was Bill Medley. It is famous for that bass voice. I would be sad if i didn't get to see Crystal Gayle either.
Always loved his music forever popular on the radio when I was growing up. Rainy night huge favorite but he has so many great songs and loved his song writing ❤
This songs make me think of my childhood, I’m 51 now and I went looking for him some years back, maybe five years ago because I was thinking I haven’t heard from him in a while and he was super popular. It was so sad to hear that he passed away.
What about his hit songs "I can't help myself" and "We can't go on living like this". I remeber hearing these two songs played on the radio many times over
I searched long and hard for a song my father performed when he was 30, and I was 5. I'm now 45. My dad had a very modern and eclectic taste for classic rock and country music, apparently. He was known as a singer in our South asian indian community, but outside of christian indian music, he enjoyed the likes of deep purple, creedence revival, VH, and other 8 tracks I found. It was common in the week for him to meet with his friends who all played instruments, and he often sang impromptu. I held on to these memories and especially this song bc it would be in 1984 that my dad died at 30 and i was 5. I finally found the cover song he performed and enjoyed....it was driving my life away. It has been in my playlist ever since, and when I want to remember my dad, I'll jam it. I didn't know he passed from cancer, and my condolences go to his family and fans. I lost my baby sister to pan can at the age of 43 just last year, and she also enjoyed this song bc it made us feel closer to our dad. Thanks for shedding light on this great singer and his rise and success in creating poetry in music. #fcukcancer
I worked many years for Eddie. There are several things tht are faults in this video starting with his Fathers name. He was very good to my kids & I. His Dad THOMAS EDWARD lived in our home til he passed. We miss Eddie so very much & will forever miss him.
Hi Paul, Greetings from Ireland. Eddie was called after my father Edward, aka Ned, who was Tommy's brother. I'm also Edward but known as Eamon. I worked in Greensboro NC in 1977 for 4 months. I got to Nashville one W/E, met his Mom and visited Uncle Tommy in a hospital in Murfreesboro after a car crash. Nice to see this piece even if not 💯 per cent. Times were different then, money scarce, no mobile phones etc. Love to exchange info. Rgds, Eamon Rabbitt
I was thinking about my dad's favorite song when I began researching Eddie Rabbitt. His was Elvis singing Kentucky Rain. I would have to say I am partial to Every Which Way But Loose.
