ABOUT CHICAGO PD
From Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf comes "Chicago PD," a riveting police drama about the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's elite Intelligence Unit, combatting the city's most heinous offenses - organized crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond. Detective Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and his intelligence team have always considered rules to be guidelines more than actual laws. Their goal has always been to protect their great city and they have used unique ways to help bring criminals to justice. Now it's a new day and age in Chicago. Police are under siege and under a microscope - everyone from the federal government to politicians and citizens in their own city are watching. The intelligence team will feel the pressure, and their form of justice will be questioned and challenged.

Loved this ending!!
When Hank said “Her name’s Kate.....” you could see Denny deflating like an old tire. The air just went out of him👍
This comment is so damn funny..."deflating like an old tire" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol!!!!!!!!
You could see the cop car lights on the drapes just as he said it.
Poohbear4990, you a damn fool bro 😅😆 it's true though
When they took Denny from the house, they framed Hank's face perfectly: half dark and half light. It symbolizes who he is.
To me he’s not dirty. He’s real. I’ve been privileged to have known a Hank Voight or two. Not everything is by the book, but the book is only so thick. It doesn’t solve everything.

SEASON 9, DENNY WOODS IS BACK...REMEMBER MY WORDS...IS THE INFORMANT OF FBI AGENT, HE MAKES A DEAL...
I loved how Hank kept himself so calm the entire season. Let everyone thinks that he was cornered with no way out. But, at the end, after all he had the last laugh.
Olinsky paid the price
Agreed
(I’m late shut up) that sad brown doesn’t look like a laugh
@@TheLadyKatt what does this mean?
@Steve Gonzales To be fair, Al framed himself, and Hank even tried to keep him out of jail. Besides, Hank didn't know AL would be blamed
Such a well done scene, love how subtly Voight reveals his hand, timed perfectly with the lights behind him.

Not sure if it was intended or not, but the subtle touch of having the police lights come on right as he says “..name’s Kate, right?” is just brilliant scene direction…
I agree!
It was intended
I kept rewinding that part
Absolutely!!! I noticed it through Denny's drapes in the house in the background. Superb!
"After all this time, you don't get it do you? The difference between dirty and necessary." This line hits so powerfully with me. Don't know why, but it does.
Do you believe it’s true though?
@@joewhitehead3 It is.
It hits hard because it basically defines Hanks character in one sentence
because the law defines what we can do versus what needs to be done.
Dirty - it's about you
Necessary - it's about the people you're trying to protect
All throughout this episode we see one immutable truth. Never, and I mean NEVER piss off Hank Voight!!

I needed a cigarette after that episode it felt so good.
This scene encapsulates who Voight is at his core yes he is ruthless and hard and crosses the line but he does so in the name of keeping Chicago safe he is a necessary. Woods is a damn hypocrite and it was so satisfying watching Voight beat him.
Well said
PRHILL9696 the funny thing is Woods would have had a point if he didn’t bribe a witness to make a false statement he is just as shady as Voight difference is Woods at the end of the day is only looking out for himself.
I have no mercy for scum who do things too innocent people. If people do not want to follow the rules and they have no feelings at all then they should not be among the innocent. Too many times criminals rape and kill and you find out they have done it before yet they are free to do it again and ruin more lives.
I live in Chicago and would never live anywhere else as I love this city so much for so many reasons, but like any city it has its bad areas and the criminals there in those parts keep getting let out to do more crimes in makes no sense!
Hank was right Woods was all about his ego
And then we're met with a scene where Voight finally drinks and breaks down over Al.
the writing of these scene is incredible especially with the buildup from the entire season, beautifully done

Hank didnt kill Al what the hell are you guys talking about? A cop doesnt just go right on ahead and kill a fellow cop knowing other cops know about one of their fellow cops deaths.
This was one of my favorite scenes, my favorite actor on the show, Voight took Danny down and he never saw it coming.
"I just sit back and wait" Hank Voight
I liked that part too I don't run I just wait.
Mykelti Williamson is such a good actor! The look on his face and his body language when he realizes Voight has turned the tables on him!

@@heratalks2317 he push his wife. Hawaii 5-0. I remember that episode
The pain in Hank's face can be seen clearly throughout this whole scene. Like he said, Denny and Hank had been partners for years, and close friends. The line that came to tear them both apart was the gun used to frame an innocent man of murder, and that simple disagreement at a bar was all it took to launch the dirtiest inter-rivalry cop war in history.
100% agree with you x
And when he got Olinsky locked up for Bingham's murder
Oh Denny, Hank called you out on one case... CUT THE DRAMA! Everytime Hank asked him for help on the cases he was working this season, Denny did the complete opposite. Only exception was working with Hank to save Briana

This is my favorite scene in this whole show. Hank is slick in the game!
Woods: "I'm about to end this man's whole career"
Voight: "No I'm about to end this man's whole career"
This was one of the most satisfying scenes I had seen a cop show. I was so happy Hank got rid of Denny.
I gotta admit, Voight made a smart move there
Jimmy Osha, the States Attorney was a friend of Voight and owed him....he no doubt helped but it still wasn't enough...Osha better make sure Woods gets the max.
The lawyer had to prove himself loyalty to voight
nateo200 perhaps Denny Woods trial will be featured in an episode on season 6?
Doubtful. With Chicago Justice gone we won't see it. We'll hear about his arrest and hopefully conviction. He's definitely fired but if the tape was obtained without a warrant the whole thing could be thrown out. That said, I think Voight probably leaned on Judge Wells for a warrant to seal the deal!

Jennifer Johnston me too! all the way from Sydney Australia! i LOVE all 3 shows!
yeah that scene in hospital when their all reacting differently. ☹
Voight needs to be in prison if u revenge it can only lead down an endless path of problems, like the fact Erin was an acomplice to murder. There is a courrption here and a city with not enough people willing to change that. They got to relise Chicagos way cant always Chicagos way.
Wish they kept Chicago justice I would have loved to see it crossover with law and order

Wow! Hank really put a spin on the outcome of that conversation!! And Woods has Al's blood on his hands, so to speak
So glad Woods is finally is going away but he did so much damage! Thank goodness Hank got Woods and the losers responsible for the death of Al. This world needs so many more like Hank!
PRHILL9696 ditto he may be hard hitting and ruthless but he is the kind of cop you’d want going after criminals. If your friend or family member was in trouble in the worst way imaginable I’d want a cop like Voight handling it.

That look on Denny's face when he knew he was screwed was priceless. He is also responsible for Olinsky's death. They should have charged him with his murder too. Why wasn't he fired when they realized he planted on a gun on innocent man and had him falsely imprisoned for nearly 20 years?
This scene is the one that shows how Hank Voight stays steps ahead of everybody because when voight mentioned that witness he knew he was finished plus those flashing light made this situation even more calculated 🥶
Woods tried Voight ..... and he thought he had him with no room to get out.
glad woods is gone
I knew when Al died that DA felt responsible and when the witness magically appeared asking for 20,000 I knew Voight was orchestrating it. But I wish Al didn't have to die

They don't make them like season 5 anymore...
Chicago PD is one of the best shows on TV!! I've watched this episode several times, and the ending is just lights out!! Woods finally got what was coming to him.
The moment Kate said Hank dragged Bingham out on the house, I knew it was a set up for Woods! I remember the season 3 finale that it was Hank's "friends" the bought Bingham to Hank at the silo.

Good news: Denny is going to prison 😁
Bad news: Al is dead 😭
Shouldn't have killed Al off
Just started watching CHI PD not too long ago .... been catching reruns and I’m hooked, Al getting killed in prison was heartbreaking
Still can’t figure why they kill off such beloved characters Maybe Al’s other daughter will appear as a Chicago cop hmmmm?
Becky Cottrell the writers killed off Al to end the storyline between Denny Woods and Voight as they have hated each other for a long time. Elias Koteas the actor who played Alvin Olinsky was also ready to move on to other roles.
Your point is better than trump's point
Maybe they killed Al because the actor didnt want to be in the series no longer, so they killed hin in the series to kinda close off his story.
I've watched this so many times..I love it he took Denny down...yea..Yo Hank is the man..don't mess with him..Go Hank..
It's the subtly of this scene that makes it so rewarding. As soon as Hank says her name you see the flashing lights behind the curtains.

This was an incredible scene.
The legend of Hank Voight persists!
This is the best show on TV! I love Hank Voight! He is one of the best! I look forward to Wednesday nights. Hank Voight is a cop that I have much respect for. He's necessary!
Denny forgot what Voight told him before: "I never run, Denny. I just wait"
"When you come at the king, you best not miss." (The Wire)
FINALLY WOODS IS GONE, but why did Al have to die😭 I hope Woods dies in jail and see how it feels
Don't worry, Woods is big but there are guys bigger than him in jail, he will get a nice butt reaming in time!
R.D Gamer oh my so pissed al died
I don't need Woods to die in jail. Because his ego just took a massive hit. A whole year of schemes and abusing his power. He had cameras put in the interrogation room to catch Hank beating perps. He tried to intimidate Ruzek by threatening his sister. He kept showing up making veiled and not so veiled threats to Hank in a attempt to rattle him. He had Al brought up on charges, and to make sure Al wouldn't even get bail he put in calls to the State's Attorney and the Mayor. Did all of that for a year. And it took Voight all of one day, one prosecutor, and one fake witness to bury Woods. And let's not forget Hank multi-tasked. Hank set all this up while at the same time going full steam ahead to catch Al's killer. It's like Ruzek said, Woods isn't half the man Voight is and he never will be. LOL!!!!!!
Al died, because of the producers. Hank killed Bingham and the producers wanted to get at Voight. Something had to happen to him. in this case, it was Al who had to die. Sorry for my English
Ruzek is two-faced. Just a few episodes ago, when his cop-turned-informant kept asking Ruzek to testify for him in a questionable shot, Ruzek said NO, he did not see it and would not lie for him, and the guy's career was destroyed. Now Ruzek is all in Antonio's face for doing the same thing, telling the truth. He wants people to lie for him when it affects him (i.e., Upton in an earlier episode) but was not willing to do it for another cop. His character has been all over the place this season, uprighteous one moment and dirty the next. He thinks he is the next Voight, but he is worse - a hypocrite.
Season 5 was hands down the best season of Chicago P.D. Like this whole season was a rollercoaster
I think I agree, which is crazy because Erin is not in it
@@justincaldero5174 exactly!! But I just liked this whole thing since this season and season 6 actually had a real storyline. Chicago P.D. Is a great show don’t get me wrong, but I like a good storyline and they did that with Season 5. Season’s 7 and 8 were just regular episodes and they had a few mini storylines, but nothing major. This new season 9 is starting to build a storyline now, which I like since this may change the story of P.D. As a whole.

People closest to Voight tend to forget he is always 14 steps ahead of everyone else. Especially if you’re trying to bury him or play him.
I have been waiting for this!!!! Finally!!!!
Ruzek was right - Denny’s weakness was Hank. He was so desperate to destroy him that he didn’t do nearly enough digging into Kate.
All Denny had to do was let go of his vendetta against Hank
