      Yes I'm sure the functionality of the Corbins would be much better, I just preferred the look of the originals and living in Western Australia we get very little rain, so whether they let water in or not, is a bit irrelevant for me. Thanks for watching .

    Agree with the comment below, also for $1800 the underpan should have had the mounting clips and a freakin fender should be included. The one thing I do not like about the Rocket 3 is that open rear fender. Ugh. Also can the paniers be switched? The locks would then be on the back side and readable in the correct way.

    • @Carlshandlebarsandholidays
      @Carlshandlebarsandholidays  Рік тому +1

      Yes I totally agree re the fender etc, unfortunately no the panniers can’t be switched so you’re stuck with the locks being the wrong way round, bit of a crazy design really. Thanks for watching 👍

  • @barackblows1942
    @barackblows1942 2 роки тому +1

    Do they have a 10-lb limit per side? I think I would prefer the big bag that goes on the back seat if you’re riding solo. There are a lot of complaints on the forums about those saddle bags.

    • @Carlshandlebarsandholidays
      @Carlshandlebarsandholidays  2 роки тому

      Yes you're right, generally they aren't really rated, but I really only wanted them to be able to stuff the odd jacket in when it's too hot etc (can't say that I've seen a weight limit, but again that wouldn't really matter in my case).
      If needed I could always put a big bag over the rear seat and a small bag on the rack too.

    Well, those are ok and look nice but I dont think so for $1800! The paniers should have decent enough seals that you shouldnt have to have a waterproof bags on the inside. Apparently, water can infiltrate into the panier around the bag which could lead to mold on the interior so that seems like an issue that should be addressed. I enjoy your videos. Thank you.

    • @Carlshandlebarsandholidays
      @Carlshandlebarsandholidays  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, and you're absolutely right, they are too expensive and should have better seals (& locks), but "for me" they are ok, I like the look and here in Western Australia we get very little rain, (and I wouldn't be out in it, at least not for long, if there was). So they kinda make sense for me, but I fully get that they're not for everyone.
      Great to hear you enjoy my vids ... thanks for watching.

      @pipersall6761 2 роки тому +1

      @@Carlshandlebarsandholidays Yeah I didnt really think youre coming to us from Australia where it doesnt rain often like it does here. I think they look great and the mounting brackets are really slick and well designed as well as their locking systems.

    weit? can i just recode the panniers that are locked and from someone other? with a simple stick?

    • @Carlshandlebarsandholidays
      @Carlshandlebarsandholidays  2 роки тому

      To lock the panniers, I assume as long as you know their code to start with you could re-code them to a new combination of your choosing. But in terms of locking them onto the bike I think you’d need to replace their barrels with the ones that you should have got with your bike.
      Hope that helps & thanks for watching.

    Looking at this again, I think almost $1800.00 for this set of paniers is a rip off, especially when a less than $20 pair of side cutters, will give you entry.
    Perhaps even a $5 box cutter would cut open the bags even quicker?
    Having said that, I do love the bike.

    • @Carlshandlebarsandholidays

    I think the V2s are overall worse. They lack the netting and strap/buckle system that the originals had which takes away a lot from them. I've had both. I got the V2s for free under warranty when my V1s had a major zipper malfunction. Of which, the V2s did not upgrade the zipper. I waxed them and just have to hope for the best. The V1 zippers loved to snag.

    $1800.00 is a rort, considering that anyone can create a new code to open the panniers.
    All you need is a pin to poke in the side hole and dial a new number.
