    I'm 79 and have owned 28 bikes....all brands and all with the highest performance for the time. My current 2022 R3 GT is unquestionably the best of them all. The fact is that I just sold my 2018 Ducati X Diavel with Termignoni exhausts because all I was riding was the R3! Never will I get another bike with a chain, without a double sided swingarm, and without a quick shifter and traction/wheelie control, ABS brakes and the rest of the electronics. The bike is also an extremely comfortable and stable ride with more than adequate power. Fabulous looks as well.
    It even handles like a bike half the weight!
    Just a great machine!!

    Hey Dood! Nice ride, great choice of bike.
    I've been riding 56 years, and 4 years ago I bought a 2016 Triumph Rocket III roadster, brand new. I have highly modified, and highly customized it to the tune of $25,000+. I had Carpenter Racing build the engine up, and rebuild the trans & clutch to full race. It has 260hp & 190ft/lbs torque at the rear wheel on 89 octane straight gas. It will make any man giggle. It has forward controls & 18" apehanger handlebars plus a ton of other mods. All murdered out. I wish I could post a pic of my B-E-A-Utiful Beastie. My only problem is I go through grinding bolts on the pegs like crazy.
    I've thought of tire letters, but I go through tires every 3000 miles, and these Damn tires are crazy expensive. Stay Safe!!!

    Nice video. My question is how tall are you in reference to peg selection I'm 6'1" test rode GT and was very comfortable with forward controls . I've ridden Harleys for past 30 years. My long distance touring is over but day rides and trailering to black hills or Smokies are on the menu. I was amazed by the power and handling of the Rocket. Its on my Radar within the next year.

    Corbin products are worth looking at for: Saddle Bags, 100 Liter capacity, Left hand side can fit a full face helmet. Tail tidy. Heated seats. I would extend the rear mudguard to keep the bike cleaner, simple to make out of carbon fibre as a one off.

    My biggest disagreement is the bluetooth module. Even with the dealers assistance I have found it quirky and useless. I do not recommend this option. The quick shifter and a larger windscreen were my two best add ons. And I think I have added all the others in this vid.

    I love that bike 1 its a Triumph 2 they've increased the power even more a couple years ago there's a whole list but I just dont have room and I cant justify buying that bike it doesn't fit my needs I wish it did though I have my tourer covered I have my naked covered MT-10 I have my ADV covered 1200 Tiger I have my enduro covered DR 650 and we have a Speedmaster your bike is ready to go anywhere the panniers look good the exhaust looks and sounds great good job

  • @jimanders9971
    @jimanders9971 Рік тому +2

    Yes anyone can shift without using the clutch but the quick shifter allows you do do it at full throttle. Down shifting you didnt mention. The quick shifter makes downshifting without the clutch smooth as silk. I put the mid pegs on my GT as well, like the op I highly recommend doing that as well. One thing though, I saw no wear marks on the pegs, lol.

    • @RidesDoneRight
      @RidesDoneRight  Рік тому

      At the time I made the video I hadn't used the quick shift enough to figure out you just let off the throttle completely and shift down - TOTALLY agree, the down shift is "butter"... and in every way as enjoyable as up shifting.

  • @hockeyrog
    @hockeyrog 3 місяці тому

    More info on the mid controls please. The Triumph superstore doesn't show them on the site, just a $74 shift lever. I would like to change to mid controls also with forward highway pegs forward for stretching.

    Thanks for posting this! Very cool! I have questions. Do the mirrors have a comparable view to stock? Do you ride in the rain without the rear hugger? I seem to get mud up my back even with it! I did the same with the mid pegs on the GT. completely agree about mid pegs and the shifter. Although it's not my style, the lettering really caught my eye and looks great!! windshield looks great! I found Madstad to be excellent for touring.

    • @RidesDoneRight
      @RidesDoneRight  Рік тому +4

      I've been using those mirrors for years. I can see both lanes behind and they are adjustable if you would want to have them higher - I'm used to them in that position. I like my stuff to look nice and stopped riding in the rain when I could afford to drive nice cars.

      They simply aren't compatible at the same time - many have tried (including me) and there are many articles about it. It would require modifications that would not allow you to switch back in the event you or future owner wanted to.

    Seriously , how much did it cost and how much time did it take to adjust the valves on the Ducati Diavel . NOT JUST CHECK THE CLEARANCE . But to actually adjust the valves . I've been trying for years to get an honest answer .

    Great video! I have a '22 Triple Black edition and want to do the mid-peg conversion w Quick Shift. At the Triumph Superstore it says I need a "Fixing kit" and there is a part number specific to the Triple Black edition. However, if I do the mid-peg conversion it will be more like a model R. So would I get the Mid-peg kit plus the Model R fitting kit instead of the GT Triple Black part? Also, is it just me, or does the tire pressure spec (42psi) of the bike seem too high? I can feel every pebble and line on the road and my suspension is setup to comfort mode. Thanks!

    • @RidesDoneRight
      @RidesDoneRight  Рік тому

      Ask Triumph Superstore - those guys are awesome about figuring out the exact setup that will work on your bike - just let them know what you want to do. Keep in mind, when the dealer does the QS config to have your R peg setup installed before hand or it will have to be redone after you switch.
