Having this happen right now, doctor wants to send me to psychiatrist, but our health insurance has like a $3000 deductible and will not cover any of the psychiatrist charges . So in order to get my Adderall prescription filled, it will cost me like hundreds of dollars a month more and with the crazy shortage it’s a total mess. I am in my 50s now and have detailed records of my elementary school evaluation and high school evaluation’s showing incredible consistency of attention deficit issues. The Adderall also helps with some depression problems that I have that most antidepressants don’t seem to help with. My doctors office basically got frustrated with trying to get the Adderall prescription refilled and finding out the dosage was not available and having to try to re-shuffle the quantities and just said forget it go see a psychiatrist. Basically, I am left out to dry. I don’t understand this shortage baloney, it’s not like the minerals or ingredients are finite

I take Dex for same reason. Why does it cost more if you don't see a psychiatrist? I want to change my prescriber from psychiatrist (he's getting old) to a gp but I'm concerned about problems getting it filled--never considered increased costs.

I've been on the same dose of meds like this for 35 yrs. I have a condition most drs know nothing about. I can't be OK without these meds. It's crazy drs won't prescribe--quality of life is more important than just staying alive.
Drs can create so much more stress which negatively affects health.

Taking medication that's keeping you alive? Guess what, a new doctor might decide to take it away from you and make your life unbearable! What an uplifting video.

Your a bad doctor if you don't prescribe pain medication... All you're uncomfortable about is losing you medical license.

I had a friend who changed his pcp. He had been on benzo for years due to many conditions. The new pcp refused out right to prescribe, he was dead within a week from suicide. His anxiety spiralled and there was no calming him down. That gp has now been suspended and being investigated by authorities. This is in uk.

That's so incredibly sad. So sorry for your friend.
      What an irresponsible gp.

What about non-controlled substances, High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure meds. I'm moving and am worried someone else might have a different med in mind other than what has been working for a long time.

Non controlled substances should be fine - at least initially. A new doctor may approach your care a little differently and want to change meds over time but getting refills initially should usually be fine. Thanks for watching!

This was a helpful video. Maybe a little too late for me as everything that has happened with COVID and how some doctors are being threatened with license removal, I do not trust the medical field for the most part. I won't shut them out completely but I'm not going to a doctor now unless I absolutely need one.
It is up to the medical profession to make that right... in my opinion, a lot of these medical agencies have lost the respect of people like me.
Treating patients horribly because they may have been vax injured, acting like certain vaxes are the be all end all. They should know better and should've asked more questions, instead most just go along and do what they're told. That has made me lose a tremendous amount of trust.
And yes, I pray every day and, in my prayers, I ask to never need a doctor because they have lost so much of my trust.

Opioid pain medicine for chronic, intractable pain is one of the safest drugs that allows these patients to live better lives. The instance of addiction in chronic pain sufferers is around 1%. There is physical dependence, yes, but this is normal and is not addiction. It’s cruel to make these already suffering people suffer through the additional added pain of being judged and stigmatized by doctors who have been frightened into wrong beliefs by the actions of addicts. This judgment as someone “less than” is nothing new. It started approximately 30 yeas ago. It’s an unfair and harmful way to treat a person.
It’s simpler then ever to find drugs on any street corner but most chronic pain patients don’t want to do that. Pot is 100% legal in many states also. Here again, many patients don’t want to do that either. That leaves you holier than tho judges in white jackets for most chronic pain pts to have to go to and through while desperately seeking adequate and ongoing opioid pain medication.
Chronic, intractable pain is soul destroying. Often times the sufferers commit suicide after finding no end in sight from their misery.
What would you do, Doctor Chrissy, if you’re ever injured or diseased and your own body becomes an endless prison of ineffable suffering and there is only blockages and judgment in return? I’d say WELCOME TO YOUR KARMA. Enjoy. Now go see a “pain specialist”!

Drs & other decisionmakers would quickly change their minds if they needed such meds. No one lives forever, meds are not a failure, quality of life is the goal imo & many health conditions can not be cured.

@@temtationeyes you ain’t kidding! I almost killed myself over my suffering. I unsubscribed from this channel after seeing her stance on this. I’d rather watch a naturopath healer’s videos. Pain clinics nowadaze treat you like you’re a faking drug seeker even with reams of evidence that you’ve truly got a real pain issue. Then they make you jump through humiliating furry hoops just to get an Rx for something not nearly strong enough to kill the pain enough to function STILL! So if you’re smart, you’ll double the dose and have at least a few good daze where you can get anything done. The LAST thing chronic pain patients need is to have soul pain added to their body pain. I can’t.
God bless you. I hope you find a way to feel better, even if it’s just part time.
There’s a plant from SE Asia called Kratom. It comes in different strains, depending upon different factors. Research it. It saved my bacon! WHITE BALI from Harvest Kratom gives me energy and makes my body hurt less. It’s not expensive either. Other strains are better for pain. It’ll be the best thing you’ve done for yourself!

@juliesunshine333 Literally have been saying this. Doctors are trained to treat every patient like they're lying to get drugs if they ask for controls.
I need to have clonazepam on hand for hypnic myoclonus (sleep jerks) after a back injury in 2019. I never take the stuff, but I HAVE it. That's half the prescription. I'm very educated on how to avoid dependence and withdrawal. I wish more Dr's could understand that education is very important and patients can be smart and compliant. Not all of us are looking for drugs!! I just don't wanna have to deal with hypnic jerks anymore! 😭
