Even the worst from George Lucas has more originality, creativity, passion, substance, and meaning behind it than anything made by the newer filmmakers of the franchise, with exceptions. The wisdom and experience that came from years of research, learning, and learning from mistakes made in the past and from history, rather than self-proclaimed wisdom based on bias, self-importance, arrogance, or even ignorance.

"Spiritual journey to become who you ARE".... not strive to be better, not to see your faults and defects and work on improving yourself, not overcoming hardships and mistakes to become stronger... but embracing what you already. It doesnt make sense, and at the very worst it is basically qualifying every negative urge and desire and never think to discipline those or balance yourself to find inner peace. It all makes sense why these people are the worst of humanity. They have none.

@@SpecterVonBaren Because no one remembers Feminist Frequency, or at least doesn't remember it fondly. It had a kickstarter, it took people's money, it never delivered, it was headed by a grifter who scammed their audience. Feminist Frequency created a problem in an industry it had no stakes in, and sold the solution to people who didn't do their own research and didn't know any better. But now, after-all this time, after a decade, people are noticing. The general public, which is a majority that's slowly breaking silence, is getting not only tired, but exhausted from it. And, it shows with their time-invested in other media, where-in the result The Acolyte isn't anywhere near the ratings board for the currently most viewed show. People aren't stupid, and individual critical thinking does develop to take over.

I do like the exploration of the grey areas in the Star Wars universe, it can be done well - deconstructing the “all Jedi are unfailingly pure” concept was done well in KOTOR 2, which showed that good intentions can still lead to damaging outcomes; and Andor does moral ambiguity expertly. The Star Wars universe does have room for more than just good and evil storytelling, but only if that storytelling is done well.

The comment - That only George Lucas holds the key for what we understand to be Star Wars is just untrue - Reminds of that scene from Back To School where Rodney Dangerfield has to do a book report and hires the author of said book to write it form him and the professor gives Rodney an F because apparently the author doesn’t know the ins and outs of his own book… anyways, that is a very arrogant thing to say about GL

With the EU it's less "omg I love every fucking book!!!" And more "I like the timeline more".
Like with Disney (I haven't read anything they've punished, there are some books in interested in), anyways with Disney, watch Mando, tbob, Ahsoka, and the ST. How much do you like that timeline? And I think the quality is similar levels of inconsistent.

Imagine having the arrogance to say that the creator of the franchise isn't the one who dictates and guides what their own universe is, was and shall be. I don't think there has ever been a franchise that has deviated away from what the original creator laid out, that continued to be successful. What a hack fraud.

@workingjellyfish hopefully once Kathleen Kennedy is gone in 2025 (hopefully they don't give her a new contract) we should see a restart of starwars written by real fans that don't want to just make a story for them selfs cause star wars is everyones baby not just lesly and her point of view. Now if they had made a show actually about a siths acolyte that yes would be a evil show cause siths that would be cool not what ever the first season was and now they claim the show to be romance as if Ani didn't just do that. Sorry for the long comment but things have to be said and stop this narrative that if we call them out we are homaphobs or hate women but times change and we can clearly see nobody truly care who one love as long as it's not pushed on to everyone around and in everyone's face. Again sorry and again fantastic video

    • @daruekeller

because he's very old. do you want the IP tied up in probate for decades? He had to pass it on to someone. It's SAD he couldn't be bothered to put together a better option than Disney. We need a way to properly preserve things like this. Personally I think Disney strong armed him into it somehow, I don't know how, but they forced him to sell it to them. He could have setup a trust and had some way for fans to elect directors or something, something new. Disney has ALWAYS been garbage, and remains so today.

    • @workingjellyfish

The CEO of Disney, Bob Iger talks about this is his autobiography. He basically wined and dined Lucas into selling it to Disney, promising to protect Lucasfilm and its legacy.
Lucas’ personal reasons were just that, he was getting older and wanted to focus on other things (family and smaller film projects). There are multiple other factors, of course, like the critical reception of the prequels. But that’s the short version.
