    Besides current 'super-hero' pop-culture, I've been reflecting on how both the European 'fairy tales' and 'Sunday School' bible stories that I was raised with, differ from the Indian epics (that I am studying now) in terms of moral complexity and individual ambiguity. I realize that I have been seeped in cultural and religious stories based on simplistic moral dualities, such as 'good' Cinderella and 'wicked' step mother, 'good' Moses and 'wicked Pharaoh', 'good' Samson' and 'evil' Delilah, etc. I notice that it is taking some time to get used to the idea that the gods can say and do things that are 'bad', and still be 'divine'. Thank you for this explanation; it certainly helps me to increase my understanding on this complex subject.

      @भक्ती H-M-k isn't 'destroying evil' meeting violence with violence? this is an essential them of both epics of India, and so many mythologies globally, and yet it doesn't resonate for me. We know that 'war on crime' doesn't stop crime; the solution has to be a change of consciousness, more love, less fear, not 'destroying violence'- it just doesn't make sense, except in a very macho script, which is what got our world into this mess!

      @भक्ती H-M-k the question is whether this text is meant as a spiritual metaphor or literally as a license to kill someone because we judge them to be 'evil'. Obviously great harm has been done in this world in the name of 'righteous'/ 'holy wars', and we cannot afford more polarization/ division/ enmity and strife! Now more than ever we need peace and 'unity consciousness' to get us through these times. You and I may have different perspectives and interpretations, but we can still love and accept one another, without making each other 'wrong'/ 'bad'/ 'evil'. Let us model this openness to one another for our world- communicating respectfully across differences, practicing tolerance and acknowledging each other's divinity!

    Well Thor is a God from Norse mythology. There are thousands of Gods from Erstwhile Greek, Norse or Egyptian pantheons whom no one considers to be the "creators" now. What is your opinion on that?

    At end you tell you mentioned God are Evil how? Can you explain?

    • @angadkambli6206
      @angadkambli6206 9 років тому +8

      It doesn't mean that Gods are evil. They meant to say that when you think like a super hero, you find yourself right and your enemy wrong. But when you will think like a God, you will find wrongness in you. You might even find you yourself are the villain.

    • @abyzit
      @abyzit 9 років тому

      Ram Das If you put yourselves in the place of the villains, from their perspective, superheroes are the villains. In Hinduism, there are devatas and asuras. And in Hindu mythology, Gods can do some wrong, and Devils can do some various good acts.

      Vishal Dcosta PLEASE CORRECT YOUR HISTORY, READ DASHAVTARA, AND PLEASE CORRECT, BUDDHISM DOESNT DENIES THE EXISTENCE OF GOD, EVEN BUDDHA HIMSELF SAID I AM NOT ONE BUDDHA THEIR ARE MUCH MORE THEIR ARE FIRST BEFORE MEE AND THEY WILL ALSO AFTER MEE, I HAVE JUST MADE A WAY TO GET GOD MUCH CLOSER.
