    Lucy, I always have this mental block when following workout routines, because it feels like the trainers have always been fit and can't relate to just how hard and painful starting a fitness journey is. But with you, I know you've been where I am, and understand the mental hurdles that accompany the pursuit of health. Somehow, it helps me stick with your workouts longer than I normally would. Please keep up the good work, God bless you.

      IKR?
      I am so out of shape and I wanted to slowly progress with no equipment/home stuff but every other 'Beginner' workout seemed very daunting and had stuff like pull ups, like I have zero strength to do a pull up yet.

    Just wanted to say, this routine is the reason I managed to learn real push ups! And today I did my personal best - 8 full push ups in a row! Never thought I could do even one, and look at me now!
    Thank you so much for this video and all the work you do!

      @@nait7717 ngl, last couple of years life's been a bit rough, working out stopped being a priority, gained some weight... But then, about a month ago, I started to try to do pushups again, not like actual proper workouts, but just dropping down to the floor from time to time and doing a couple of reps. It was very surprising how much easier it was to relearn them compared to learning the first time (muscle memory, yay!), now I can do 5-8 pushups in a row, but I feel like my form is much better than two years ago

    3 weeks since I started following your workouts and 4 weeks since I started working out at all and OHH the way I used to struggle with lunges, I had like zero balance in me but today I did 6 reps each side very nicely.. feeling proud of myself. thank you so much lucy you inspire me everyday, lots of love for you. ❤❤
    PS: I have never missed a workout since I found your channel, I look forward to it.

    i’ve been keeping up with your workouts for three weeks now, before now i briefly lost my motivation for about 2 1/2 weeks but before that i was able to go 7 weeks consistently. i feel so much stronger, i can move faster in each exercise as well as being able to quickly transition from exercise to exercise with almost no joint pain or straining. i feel great! and im starting to notice more definition throughout my body. it makes me so happy i could cry lmao. im still doing beginner workouts but am noticing i can take on some intermediate positions, i even got through a full intermediate workout though i had to take a lot more breaks. thank you so much for providing these great workouts for free on youtube its truly life changing

    Hello, I have been so consistent for the past 6 weeks; changing up my program every 2 weeks. This week started rocky because I wasn't being consistent with waking up early and sleeping early. It made working out more challenging for me. But I gotta say, this workout made me feel pumped and strong- and it challenged me. I wanna keep doing calisthenics now! so fun and its something to look forward to. Thank you for this

    This was great! I love the fact that you did not include music! Tons of workout videos come with super upbeat (pop or electronic) music and I usually find that too much. I think it's great that you included beginner options and more advanced options. I'll do this routine once a week from now on along with ashtanga yoga, some more core work, and splits training. I think it will help me with those nasty jump-throughs in ashtanga yoga! :) Thanks a bunch!!! :)

    So this is exactly what I needed... I got to sweat! Yeaaaahh.... I feel a little bad having to do a beginners' routine when I used to be in good shape.. But letting go of pride is step 1, right?

    These are seriously the only at home workouts I have ever been able to stick with. So many "beginner* workouts on UA-cam are either way to intense for someone just starting out, or they require a level of fitness that does not align with a beginner.

    Thank you! At last an actual, clear cut 'how to' for a beginners calisthenics workout without distracting fluff. I've been searching for quite a while, but most 'beginner' videos require one to sit through pretentious bro-science lecturing and/or transformational life stories before getting to actual excercises (which then turn out to be not so beginner friendly) Well done!

    Hi, can you do these as an overweight person

    • @andrewoakeshott7759
      @andrewoakeshott7759 4 роки тому +5

      Sure, in fact, all the more reason to get started, because these are some of the best exercises to do at home as a relative beginner (and I'm saying this as someone formerly overweight / still in the process of losing some weight). Calisthenics got me into strength training (previously I was just doing cardio), because I had tremendous gym anxiety. So, doing these exercises at home meant I didn't have to deal with those fears, but instead could focus fully on the exercises and improving my personal performance. As my strength increased I felt prepared to do some weight training / lifting in the gym too, but with corona quarantine measures, I was also easily able to resort back to calisthenics instead. Now, some of the exercises might be harder or easier depending on how overweight you are, but since you didn't say obese I think you should be fine (again talking from personal experience here). Try out each exercise and see how well you manage. Of course, it'll always be hard if you start from scratch, but it only gets easier with time. Just remember, take it slow (don't overdo it), one small step in the right direction is better than taking five giant steps, but then reverting back to old habits. Been there, done that. Never again.
