1993 driving convoys into Sarajevo mortar shells incoming, machine gun fire all around and snipers looking for a target.Playing White Riot as loud as I can to drown out the noise of war and hide my fear.Never has a song been more fitting, I love the Clash.
I fucking love the way they perform. They get so into it, it's like I can feel the music, it's like it's punching me. It's so inspiring, so bloody wicked.
+OroborusFMA Everyone has their own OPINION :> Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan and I saw 'em back in the day fore they turned to shit., but there are other bands of the era that are as unique and powerful and talented as The Clash.
I have tried to explain on many occasions how music changed completely during the summer of 1977, One day we were at school listening to Yes and Led Zeppelin, even the girls loved Abba, then WOW !!!!... After seeing the Clash I been affected for the rest of my life.. Since then I've witnessed many bands and varying music experiences, but nothing like seeing the early Clash live !!!!
Thanks so much for this. I first heard the Clash when I was 12 years old never saw them live. But everything I've heard about their live energy, tells me this is as damn close as one can get :-) Thank you so so so much for uploading.
They were like that until early 79. Those of us who saw the February tour had the same experience as early shows. Mind blowing. You walked out high from the energy. Just incredible.
Yes, that is why The Clash started Rock Against Racism. If they were around today they would play benefit gigs to support the Black Lives Matter movement.
@@gustavmeyrink_2.0 spot on. they wanted working class white people to join with working class black people to riot against the oppressive powers keeping them down. that's something we still need to happen today
People say it's dead because they are judging pop punk bands of the new generations, yet they aren't able to find out that there's still great Punk bands but you can't find them in the mainstream music, and that's just how it should be.
The clash were a hundred times better than the pistols, the pistols were manufactured, the clash had something to say. The ramones were the best thing to come out of the states at the time, but overall the clash were untouchable....
Pistols were literally created to sell merchandise and the Ramones were a bunch of right wing assholes. The Clash were the only ones out of the three who truly captured the spirit of punk
@ChewyVX the 101'ers, (Joe Strummer's original band) which were huge in London, also started in 1974. They headlined acts with the pistols as support. But yes, much love to the Ramones and the Clash! :D
Today The Clash would support BLM. Back then they played at the first Rock Against Racism concert in London. What happened on the 6th of January would have been abhorrent to them.
This is the real punk.

@@sammencia7945 agree!
@@carlancos2010 and a lot of practice so that the band is very tight
I wouldn't say this is the best song off their first record..... which means that this is one hell of a record.
AnarchyInTheUA-cam haha love your name
I thought it was pretty good myself aha... I don't really use this account anymore though.
What's the best in your opinion? II'm a sucker for "Janie Jones" myself
Police and Thieves!
Nah, it's one of the best. The weak one for me is Police and Thieves. (unpopular opinion, I know.)
Never gets old. Punk at its very best. Legendary Hall Of Fame punk pioneers.
Nothing touches early Clash. Repeat, nothing.
True dat my friend !
VEVO Have. Explain that away. Please.
well.....the ramones are better....but this is personal opinion.
Nah.but they are great too !

When i saw them this was the last song they played. Loved it, the early eighties were awesome.

You mean not an American accent.

One minute fifty seconds of pure punk.
This is what punk should sound like. Not like the modern "punk" bands
there is no modern punk bands
Nicolas Poggioli Yes, there is some 'modern' punk bands. Some of them aren't so bad, some of 'em suck. For example, Defiance.
the punk dies with the clash. at least in my opinion. (at lest british-yankee punk)
Punk died at Winterland
