This was acutally the same year as the releas of Combat Rock. Rock The Casbah, Radio Clash, and later discovering the back catalogue, Sandinista, London Calling.

You know what? John is entitled to his opinion. But when someone like Tom Morriello gets up and explains how much a particular band meant to him and still inspires him; then maybe these "silly" awards ceremonies might mean a small bit in the grand scheme of things. Like a lot of people in 1978 when I first bought "The Clash" ( or as I like to call it The Green album), and The Ramone's "Rocket To Russia" it changed my life. I am glad these bands are recognized. I saw the Clash. May 1984. Pacific coliseum. Vancouver BC. The "Coliseum" was closed for awhile after that. We kinda effed things up that night.
