    It depends on how far in the future you are talking about. If you are talking this year and next year 2024 and 2025 the list will be a bit different than the 4-5 years in the future. So for the next 2 years the most important people in order are 1) Joe Burrow 2) Jamar Chase 3) Trey Hendrickson 4) Cam Taylor Britt 5) Orlando Brown jr. 6) Ted Karras 7) Sheldon Rankins 8) Logan Wilson 9) Evan McPherson 10) Chase Brown 11) Jordan Battle 12) Geno Stone 13) Jermaine Burton. I did not include players that I think this is their last year like Tee Higgins and Mike Hilton. I believe this will be their last season with us. Dax Hill and DJ Turner would have been next on my list. But we don’t know if Dax will be playing outside CB this year or backing up Mike Hilton and take over the Nickel next year. That’s how I hope it works out. Dax backing up Hilton this year and he will still get to play some in dime packages and to give Mike Hilton a break I hope Dax backs up Mike this year and takes over the spot full time next year and I hope DJ Turner will be the CB2 on the team. That’s why we drafted him and that’s why we should have drafted Dax to play nickel. So in 2025 I want Dax at nickel and Turner and CTB on the outside with Geno Stone at FS and Jordan Battle at SS. Then I. 2026 I hope Tycen Anderson moves into that free safety role. I just like to utilize the players we drafted for what we drafted them for. I know sometimes it doesn’t work out like that but I hope it does. And yall may think I’m crazy but I would sign Joseph Ossai to a like a 2 year 6 million dollar deal right now before the season starts. Do you know why? Because I think he is going to have a huge breakout year and I would plan on Sam Hubbard being on the team for 2 more years so we can keep Ossai around until Sam leaves. I think that in 2 years Ossai and Murphy will be our starting DE’s. Trey might be here for 3 more years but I’m pretty confidant that when Sam’s contract is up he will be gone.

    In 2025 I think Burton will be WR2 and I think that Iosivas will be WR3. I don’t think we will have another strickly slot WR like Boyd was. I think Chase will play some in the slot so will Burton and so will Iosivas. Oh and I can see Mike Gesicki having a huge year of like close to 800 yards and 8 tds. I wish the Bengals had signed him up for 2 years. I wish they had gotten Gesicki last year and signed him up for 2-3 years. Do you know how nice it’s going to be this year having a slot WR who is 6’6’’ 257 and runs 4.54 and has a 41 inch vertical? Pretty nice. And I think Irwin will play this year some of course and this may or may not be his last year with us. I would probably bet he will be with us at least 2 more years. And Charlie Jones I think will play this year too but u think where he will be most valuable in as a return specialist. I can easily see him making a Pro Bowl or All Pro team as a return specialist.

      We’ll have Erick All, Burton and Chase for slot snaps. I love Gesicki but unless he somehow becomes essential to the team I don’t see an extension for him at his age. They just drafted two tight ends.

      @@NathanDean79 I do think Burton over time will be the Bengals #2 WR but if Higgens balls out this season it will be hard to not try and keep him around but that number they gave Jusin Jefferson is a huge number I'm taking about QB type of money, and Chase will be in that same ballpark. I just hope they can work something out like the Patriots, where players come back for less money to stay together and chase Super Bowls with Burrow at the helm.

    Trent Brown doesn’t miss time
    Every year. 3 of his years he played over 1000 snaps. That’s about a year. Someone like Terron Armstead has literally never played an entire year.

    When I think of "the future," I think of it as how likely a player makes it that the Bengals win a Super Bowl. Tee for 1 yr is more important than lot of these guys for 3.

      Totally agree about Tee Higgens being a key player this season for a serious run at a Super Bowl! Hope that Mimms shows up big but if not let him learn the system behind a 10 year vet in Trent Brown.

      When I think of “the future,” I think of The Jetsons and flying cars. But seriously, I think you kind of missed the point of this series. I’m all about winning a Super Bowl this year, but there is no discussion to be had about that, all the players on the team this year are already under contract. Not many people, when they think of “the future” are thinking of “this year .” I’d like us to win Super Bowls *every year*.

      @@tmartin8888 no, you missed the point of what I said. I'm saying the broad concept of future success, *to me,* means the % chance of winning 1 or more SBs in the next 5 yrs. I think Tee gives a bigger % bump to that 5-yr goal even if he's only playing 1, than say Logan Wilson for 4.
      Every panelist had a different philosophy, I'm giving mine. That *is the point of the exercise, apparently, if you watched all the episodes.

      I’d be pretty pissed if CTB isn’t given another contract. It’s one thing to draft and drop wide receivers, another thing when it’s a Pro Bowl Safety like Bates or a future Pro Bowler like CTB.

      @@tmartin8888 I wished Jessie Bates would of stayed but they truly couldn't give him the money he was worth and even though I thought they should of put the Tag on him for 1 more season they chose a cheaper route by going younger and it's understandable. But a player like Cam Taylor-Britt should get a 2nd contact with Cincy, the Bengals love developing young players they draft. This Bengals CB and Safety depth is very talented just hope players like Dax Hill don't get caught in bad angles like last season. This team is set up to win and win big with that weaker schedule and they also were blessed with their bye week being placed right after their 1st game out West then come home for the bye and fly out out again to the west coast after the bye

    • @tmartin8888
      @tmartin8888 4 дні тому +1

      @@ronaldschilling4753 I disagree that letting Bates go was the right decision. The Bengals philosophy has always been grow your own talent in the draft and pay your guys if they deserve it instead of paying free agents that have a history of not working out with their new team (although the Bengals have been better than most clubs at identifying FAs that fit them). But just look at the problems letting Bates go caused last year. He’s a Pro Bowler because he’s smart, has great instincts and makes big plays in big moments. You pay a guy like that, that could have been fantastic in Anarumo’s scheme. Players like that help you win championships. I don’t agree there’s no way they could have made it work. Bates is gone because it’s also the Bengals’ philosophy to not give guaranteed money in contracts, and it’s also their philosophy that Safety isn’t a valuable position. You can’t get by with Kevin Kaesviharn or Chris Crocker or George Iloka in this defense, we’re trying to win Super Bowls. To their credit, Battle looks like he may be an answer eventually, but I’d feel a lot better if our starting Safeties this year were Jesse Bates and Geno Stone. It’s the same with the Tee Higgins situation, they can certainly afford to pay him but WR2 isn’t a position they value. I’m mostly on board with that because Burrow should be good enough to elevate a WR2 but we could certainly end up regretting letting Tee go. Been a fan since 1981, and it was a long wait from 1988 to 2021. I just think maybe in this unique window of opportunity the Bengals could relax their usual stance on these things.

      @@tmartin8888 They new what they had in Jessie Bates but with having expesive contracts coming with Burrow, Chase, Higgens, Hendrickson and offensive line problems to fix they didn't have a choice I believe. You were right about the position being undervalued with how Lou runs our Defense because Nick Scott was a bust as the replacement

      @@ronaldschilling4753 I was about to say we’ll have to agree to disagree because I thought it was more an issue of the amount of guaranteed money. But then I looked up the contract Bates got with Atlanta: 4 years, 64 million ($36 million guaranteed) and a signing bonus of $18 million. Umm. So I can’t fault them for saying, “You know what? We can get Kyle Hamilton or Dax Hill in next year’s draft and be good at Safety for the next five years.” It was a good plan, just didn’t quite work out the way they thought.
