Breech is the best Bengals kicker of all time and the all-time leading scorer for the Bengals. He should already be in the Ring of Honor, I don’t care that he was a specialist, I think he should be higher on the list. Most people don’t know this but Breech had tiny feet for an NFL player, size 7, and he wore a size 5 on his kicking foot in games.

A thing that often gets unspoken about Bernard is in Zac Taylor's first year there were rumors he lost the team. Gio came out and squashed any leaks. Great leader

4:14 Oh, that '94 Cowboys game. Winless Bengals vs defending SB Champs in Jeff Blake's first start. Those 2 bombs staked us to a 14-0 lead and gave us a shot at a gargantuan upset. Still had the game tied in the 4th quarter, before losing 23-20.
I told a good friend of mine who was a Cowboys fan that if Cincinnati had won that game, I was going to paint a big Bengals helmet on his front door. I seriously would've done it too.
BTW, this game basically ended the David Klingler era, as this began a string of 52 consecutive starts for Blake.

Gio is one of my all time favorite Bengals too. I love the potential Chase Brown brings to our current roster, but how great would Gio (in his prime) fit in our current roster? Very good pass blocker and elite receiver from the RB position, underrated rusher and a truly unselfish and great man, he’s one I wish could have retired as a Bengal. Legendary run vs. Miami, of course you lead any Gio highlight reel with that one 😉.

Ross Browner is like a 70’s version of Myles Garret

GIO was so electric. 5 yards a touch for his career with us is wild. We just need Brown to show flashes of that and we'll be much better this year
    Edit: Brown, not Evans

Gio was a much better pass protector than Evans, which is what’s kept him from getting opportunities. I like Evans and he’s talented but if he’s still a liability in pass pro this camp I don’t expect him to be more than a special teams role player. Maybe he excels with the new kickoff rules.

Evans? I think Chase Brown not only has a ton more upside than Evans, but he's in a much better position to do so. Brown is part of a 1-2 punch with Moss, and in all honesty has a good chance to be the 1A on the team. I like Evans, he's a good receiver, but he hasn't earned the coaches trust, which is the most important thing.

Another great episode, Joe. I just wish you'd mention if/when the featured player has passed away.

Andre Smith, Rey Maualuga, Michael Johnson, and Kevin Huber….That draft lineup in 2009 kickstarted a stretch of 5 years where the Bengals just kept hitting on their draft picks

How is it I don’t remember Ross Browner but I can name all the other starting LBs of that 81 season? Well sure, I was only 10 in 1981, but it’s weird that I have a blind spot for a guy that big and disruptive. Classic non-local Bengals game coverage, with the guy getting his name wrong and calling him Browning. That’s awesome though, now I can dig into Browner and learn about another Bengal 🙂.

Is Breech the reason why J. Burton wasn't issued number 3?

I would think the formula needs tweaked if the list is the greatest Bengals and players like Breech & Ickey are as low as they are. Ickey especially has too much cache not to be top 25, the Ickey Shuffle is one of the most legendary celebrations of all time in the NFL. And Breech being the top scorer in the franchise 30+ seasons later speaks volumes. Both are top 25 ish guys to me.
Also Darnay was a great deep threat. I'm still taking TJ over him all day. In fact only Tee Higgins is a better 2nd WR in his time with the Bengals in my lifetime in my humble opinion.

@@GoodberryExactly what I was going to say.
2004: started 10 games, 4 INTs, 1 TD, 15 PD, 1 FF, 1 sack (only sack of his career), 35 tackles, 1 TFL.
2005: started 14 games, 10 INTs, 20 PD, 1 FR, 56 tackles, 1 TFL. *Pro Bowl*, *All Pro*
      2006: started 7 games, 1 INT, 10 PD, 1 FR, 30 tackles, 1 TFL.
      2007: started 8 games, 1 INT, 9 PD, 1 FF, 1 FR, 48 tackles.
I remember Deltha O’Neal very fondly. He was an exciting free agent signing and he was actually everything we hoped he could be and more in 2005. He was a big part of what made the 05 Bengals such a fun team.
Since 1980 only 17 NFL players have had 10 or more INTs in a single season (14 is the record if you go back to Night Train Lane in 1952).
I didn’t realize until Joe mentioned it in his video, but Deltha did only have one great season. He only started more than half a season twice, in 2004 and 2005. In 2006 he started 7 games and he started only 8 games his last year in 2007. 2004 was pretty good production for the number of games he started, but it wasn’t anything special. He did have only the one fantastic season as a Bengal, but it’s a season I’ll never forget, arguably the most fun Bengals team of all time. Ranking Deltha O’Neal in the same range as Ickey Woods seems fair and right to me.
