75k a year to start with no ot while in training your first year is tough. Risking your life in a job that is so dangerous for what is really crumbs in California with the crazy cost of living, is a hard sale. Sadly being a police officer is not something that in today's society is considered honorable and good. Best of luck finding recruits. We sure need them
@yedidyah18 look online. U make like 70k In the academy ( 6 months ) no ot. Then you are assigned to a training officer for 12 months ( possible ot if you have to stay later on a shift with the training officer but u can't pick up days to work since u can't work alone the first year ) I believe u jump up 5k a year once you graduate the academy then another 5k once u pass your training. Then you get your step increases and cola every year. With the county step schedule it usually take 5 to 6 years to top out at the 100k per year mark.

The government's lies, deception, and more ,How did we get here, stop the war. Innocent lives lost, I see it in Itheir eyes, not knowing what's coming, more American lies. The politicians play a twisted game, Manipulating our minds, and sealing their fate. I'm ashamed that I danced to their tune, And did their bidding, causing death and gloom. The military, once a proud badge I wore, Now tarnished, and tainted, forevermore. For the deeds we've done, I bear heavy guilt, how can we destroy what others have built? The blood on our hands, will never wash off, of our fellow man, I feel so lost. To the world, I extend my heartfelt plea, For the harm we may have caused, I deeply see. For the lives shattered by our misguided hand, I offer my apologies, as a god fearing man. Know that I was a believer too, In a nation of honor, pure and true. But now I see the dark beyond the veil, My crusade for truth, was only betrayal I'm sorry, world, if our actions caused pain, For the innocent lives taken, were taken in vain.
