A lot of misleading and wrong information in this report: It shows cannabis food and processed products, this has been legal for quite some time already in Thailand. However only if there's less than 0.2%THC, the 0.2%THC rule still applies for food and processed products. The flower can be sold in high THC strains, but only in flower form. Great news still, but the first half of the report focussed on food products. Nothing has changed in that regards. Most catastrophically wrong in this report was the notion that recreational use is still illegal. Wrong! Recreational use is absolutely legal. The health minister has verbally recommended to use it for medicine, but legally you can do what you want with weed, and no prescription is required. If you're smoking it in busy public areas you could get a small fine for public disturbance, but that's it! Weed is legal for recreational use in Thailand.
So are you allowed to actually openly smoke marijuana that knowingly has a high amount of thc? Also, will thc marijuana be sold in stores or will it still be in the black market?
@@Rambonegern If you're smoking it in a busy public area in central Bangkok you could receive a 3,000 baht (£60-£70) fine for public disturbance. UK needs to legalise, the UK government and police can’t stop us smoking it here, I’m a nobody and I can get in anywhere in the UK, so the war on cannabis clearly isn’t working
No they should not legalise any recreational drug on the level of cannabis. legal drugs such as Alcohol and smoking cause enough hardship and suffering for many. Legalisation will allow unregulated consumption which could have devestating effects on the whole country, Cannabis is strong and highly addictive. Its effects can be relapsed years after someone has stopped its consumption. The cannabis trade is associated with violence, murder and exploitation but legalising it is not a solution, the public should be protected from it.
@@TheAnnoor “Legalizing it will allow for unregulated consumption” 🤔 Pretty sure the government regulates it’s consumption in places where it is legalized. Canada has had it legal now for 4 years, it hasn’t lead to any increase in consumption that didn’t already exist. If anything it made it more difficult for minors to get it from dealers as the store bought quality and price matched or surpassed that of the black market. You would rather stigmatize and punish individuals over your outdated and disproven beliefs about a plant instead of moving on to the 21st century like the rest of us.
It is a real health product after all and society would be much better off than allowing alcohol use. In Australia in 2015 or so 75% of the NSW police budget was spent on alcohol-related matters, which is crazy.
I don't see why recreational use is such a big deal. I've been smoking for 30 plus years as have most people I know. None of them are paranoid crime lords. If anything weed is more likely to make you stay home on the couch. Not go out full of belligerent confidence and bad ideas,, which is very often the result of perfectly legal alcohol.

Hi. I don’t know much about canabis other than what I’ve read and it’s quite an interesting debate. Alcohol I definitely agree with you. It can cause havoc for many people or add to existing problems. For me I can say that I have destroyed my life through abusing alcohol. I do understand that many folks enjoy alcohol sensibly and moderately.
And here I am, a 67 y/o Australian female who grows a plant or two for personal use. I suffer debilitating arthritis. Yet I’m constantly harassed - and heavily fined, by the police! Even they say it’s pointless as I’m obviously not selling any, but that’s the freedom that Australians are quick to brag about - but don’t actually have!!! 👎🏾🇦🇺😞

Denmark has become more conservative, more reactionary, in the 32 years I've lived there. Don't count on it. But it practical terms it doesn't matter. It's more a matter of principle, really.
If India follows suit, its farmers will be rich. India can become the world's leading exporter of cannabis. People in the west will be eager to buy cheaper Indian products. As per me, it is much less harmful than alcohol which is widely legal.
Boomers and heavy taxes on alcohol and cigarettes don't want marijuana to raise up. Our riders are brain washed into thinking marijuana is some bad evil plant

Thailand has a horrendous road death toll. Will be interesting to see if it gets worse now that many drivers will be high too. I'm not against marijuana myself, but pretty much declaring open season will have consequences.
Lol " im not against Marijuana myself, but..." I am going to use a derogatory nick name designed by the u.s government to vilify cannabis instead of its actual name cannabis then regurgitate anti cannabis organizations materials including the false statement that cannabis consumers are more likely to die on the road when government backed studies have actually shown the opposite is true.
So you think nobody drove while high before cannabis was legalized there? And you believe many people will start using cannabis there only because it is legal, but will drive around high even though that is probably illegal? That makes no sense. People who want to use any given substance will use it legal or not. Legalizing will not make everyone use it. If heroin became legal in your country tomorrow, would you run to buy some? Nope. So it sounds like your opinion is based on your biases against others.
Drinking and smoking isn’t that bad, Canada only says not to drive if you have an edible not if you smoke it. Less people have accidents on weed than drinking. Drinking was already legal and would already suffer the effect of drink driving. If anything it may go down as more people may smoke weed on a night out instead of drinking if they are gonna drive. Seen it already loads in the states and Canada.

That's funny, if it wouldn't be sad! Legalizing would lower crime; controlled quality would be safer for users. The only reason criminals are involved is because it's illegal. Like alcohol when it was illegal - crime flourished, everybody who ever heard of Al Capone knows that.
While I'm not a fan of drugs personally, marijuana does have many benefits to its use for people. It helps with PTSD, stress, and medical aid. Compared to other drugs, this is probably one of the few drugs that can help people with many of their problems.

Nice, I've wanted to visit Thailand👍
Im so happy for the thai people! here in germany we are on a good way to legalisation, hopefully it will workout
Time to move to Thailand
UK needs to legalise, the UK government and police can’t stop us smoking it here, I’m a nobody and I can get in anywhere in the UK, so the war on cannabis clearly isn’t working
Lol.....😂sorry to say I don't support weed
Yep you're right, i don't smoke but it only takes common sense to see it's less harmful than alcohol, and we love that here so it makes sense.
keeping it illegal makes more pressure on the idiots who want to become addicts and get it .
You would rather stigmatize and punish individuals over your outdated and disproven beliefs about a plant instead of moving on to the 21st century like the rest of us.
hello from south of thailand
I Love their King ! Long Live Thailand’s King !
Wanna go to Thailand now
Good for you Thailand! 🙏
amazing!! 😍😍
Great news for Thailand. Happy to hear another country has ended this nonsense "war" on drugs.
Very nice👏👏👏
It is a real health product after all and society would be much better off than allowing alcohol use. In Australia in 2015 or so 75% of the NSW police budget was spent on alcohol-related matters, which is crazy.
Love to Thailand 🇹🇭💚
I don't see why recreational use is such a big deal. I've been smoking for 30 plus years as have most people I know. None of them are paranoid crime lords. If anything weed is more likely to make you stay home on the couch. Not go out full of belligerent confidence and bad ideas,, which is very often the result of perfectly legal alcohol.
@My Beautiful life Making sense is a prerequisites for communication. A bunch of gibberish doesn't do that.
Spot on
@@techtinkerin The roach I just burned in your honor was particularly stanky. If I could remember where I left that bag of chips, I'd be in absolute heaven. ROFL 😂
Thailand got its Tegridy back!!!!!
as a person who loves Thailand and has traveled there many times, i would always miss my medicine back in Hawaii. im happy i can go to thailand now and have my medicine readily available.
I heard it helps with aids so you should benefit a lot
Is pakalolo legal in HI?
Cannabis has been used in Thai street food for decades.
That's amazing. This will be incredibly positive for the society, Thai health and tourism. Who wouldn't want to smoke a joint on the beach in Thailand 🇹🇭❤️
Come on UK open your eyes and legalise it ! BBC doing a great job 👏

Well done Thailand..... Leading the way.
If India follows suit, its farmers will be rich. India can become the world's leading exporter of cannabis. People in the west will be eager to buy cheaper Indian products. As per me, it is much less harmful than alcohol which is widely legal.

Reggae has been big in Thailand for a long time 😀
Look how happy they are …..priceless!!
But um yeah keep living under a rock
@@Skyhigh864 nothing is better than raw data after legalized in my state dui and self reported drinking and driving started dropping because there were alternatives that do not impair you the same way as alcohol and allowed for social consumption to take place 😀
as in every country where there has been prohibition of cannabis. it has been noticed that it often happens that politicians who were anti cannabis leave politics and become a licensed producer of the state. the magical power cannabis can do. this is really beautiful

it's nice to see cannabis is being accepted more and more. Even in a dictatorship! It's not like weed will make people rise against the government or anything. Good work, Thailand. 👌
????????????????????????
Im from Sweden and Its crazy that Thailand had super strict cannabis and drug laws and now its legal and the Police are even promoting it. Mean while in sweden it feels like we are going backwards, the Political party socialdemocrats dosnt Even wanna discuss de-criminalize cannabis for personal use because it would " incress the use for cannabis because People would belive its okey to use it and provide more money for criminal gangs" crazy... but cheers for thailand another reason for me to visit your great Country i hope Thailand grows as much and fast as the cannabis plant they are planting.
That's funny, if it wouldn't be sad! Legalizing would lower crime; controlled quality would be safer for users. The only reason criminals are involved is because it's illegal.
Like alcohol when it was illegal - crime flourished, everybody who ever heard of Al Capone knows that.
So proud of my country. ☺️

While I'm not a fan of drugs personally, marijuana does have many benefits to its use for people. It helps with PTSD, stress, and medical aid. Compared to other drugs, this is probably one of the few drugs that can help people with many of their problems.
Hello dummy kitty- it’s actually gods lettuce. Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon all the face of the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.
I think drugs are great. Especially mild pain relievers like naproxen sodium, oh, and anesthesia is pretty good.... I hate feeling it when I'm getting surgery. How about them antibiotics!
