The "underground tunnels" was always how the guard's teleport ability was explained.

@@red244 I think he might have gotten it confused with the Eldar Webway? Though that isn’t teleportation either. Might be from a different mod though.
I swear in the original games description it had some silly mention of teleportation.

Hi, Voice Actor and Writer for both the Steel Legion and Death Korps here. The Steel Legion currently is going to get its own patch called the Steel Patch which should release in a few months that includes a massive update to both models, its unit roster and voice lines. However, if you are still attached to the OG voice lines, there will be a separate voice pack for them called Legacy. Also, about the Hellmarch, yes I made most of the sounds for the Death Korps and while the march is from CnC, the one I used was not from the game itself but from the propaganda reel that game got it from, hence why no music.

Krieg is a fun faction indeed. If you want a game-mode that really suits them, try out survival mode. You have to defend against 10 waves of increasingly stronger hordes of enemies as the name suggests, and Krieg with all their defences and artillery, is a great fit for that. Especially if you up the pop cap to 30/30 or 40/40. Just be careful not to get too close to the enemy base or it spawns a doom wave of high tier tanks and/or relic units.

Lord General Erwin von Eichhorn, the games canon LG for the 103rd, lost it fighting the Necrons and had it replaced with a cybernetic one. Yes, that is a reference to the novel Dead Men by Steve Lyons, and it will be mentioned in the General's after action report when you defeat the Necrons in DC.
Well tbf said arm is a cybernetic arm, but still badass.
The table top (dark heresy and the like) have reflex gloves that let you do that kind of thing

Yes! The GSC are one of my favorite factions and way too underutilized
I think there are plans to add them. But not anytime soon
Much like post-codex Admech (the current Admech race mod is an experimental Exploritator Fleet list) there's a few newer factions who have yet to step their toes into DoW modding, but give it time and they'll be as polished as at least Chaos Daemons and Tyranids.
Important note: If you enable the titans win-conditon and play Krieg you get access to a "teleportarium" building in the advanced building menu that allows you to construct a big airship and if you also enable the tier 2 titan win-condition you can build a massive warlord titan! All the vanilla factions and some of the modded ones have all gained a "tier 2" titan, which gives them a titan that is stronger than a scout titan.
You should also enable the artillery ai
The Steel Armageddon Legion are Mechanised Infantry/Armour specialists who fight on the hive world of Armageddon, the air is toxic, the gangs are brutal and the planet is most famous for withstanding MASSIVE Ork invasions. Sentinels and Basilisks with the close armoured tops are Armageddon pattern vehicles. Commissar Sebastian Yarrick is a very famous officer from the two Ork wars on the planet for besting an Ork Warboss and stealing his power claw!
You say hive world wouldn't that mean they would be dealing with nids as well?
@@rmcgowa1987 lol nah a Hive world is a world covered with massive human cities that from space look like ant hives. Vile crime ridden places that put out so much pollution they kill the worlds they are on from industrial production.
I guess at least they differentiate hive worlds with hive fleets then otherwise that would be super confusing what is a nid world called anyway I thought they would be called hive worlds
@@rmcgowa1987 Nah Tyranids are nomadic for the most part, Hivefleet Tiamat has settled down for mysterious reasons though!

With the addition of the Kriegers, this is officially my favourite mod (they were my army when I still had my models). I hope they add the Pretorians next!

Praetorians have already been made they just haven't been redone for unification yet they need a serious rework because the mod is ancient by this point and wouldn't stand a chance against unification's current factions.
The Praetorians are getting an update though by an independent team rather than by Uni. I've seen some of their stuff and it looks excellent.

Immediately went and listened to Hell March after this. Yeah it now will drive me crazy hearing the sound clip in game, that song absolutely slaps.
Also, figured i should fill you in on what was happening with the Rubrics when you killed them (the basic Thousand Sons infantry) - essentially they are just dust in a suit of power armor. when they 'die', the dust leaves the power armor and goes to inhabit a new body. essentially they never actually die, as long as they have a suit of power armor to inhabit they're effectively immortal. (Thousand Sons are my main tabletop faction and i thought it was a cool fun fact)
This is true of rubrics but the chosen are what rubrics used to be some survived the Rubric of Ahriman without turning to dust.
@@rmcgowa1987 ya, that's why I specified the rubrics alone. I noticed later that the aspiring sorcerer's have the same death animation but thought the lore tidbit was cool so left it up :)

Very few Thousand Sons space marines survived the Rubric of Ahriman those who did the "chosen" were made a lot more powerful because of it this is why in game they have a lot bigger health pools and are a lot tankier.
The majority who didn't survive the Rubric of Ahriman were little more than reanimated dust trapped in armour which can't die which retained only a semblance of their former selves this is why in game Rubric marines are very slow and not as accurate should this armour ever be destroyed the dust will escape and seek out the next nearest available armour so Rubrics essentially can live forever.

Try place those bunkers outside of your building control zone. I plopped one in front of enemy base... Also maybe now you'll use arty doctrine and men of Krieg in crucible campaign?

As someone who collects and paints warhammer models, the best advise I can give you Shack, if you're scared to try, is not be too worried about the end result. If you've never painted models before, you're bound to make mistakes, but I guarantee that you will be happy and proud of what you were able to accomplish. Also, thin your paints and apply multiple thin coats

The Death Corps of Krieg Field HQ's sound effect is from an unknown source of a stock "drill march." Not only it has been used in Red Alert's hell march but also at Battlefield 2's USA theme
But does this mod include the strongest weapons in the galaxy?

Catachans have been discussed as a seperate faction IIRC, not guaranteed but its been talked about
@@MillzDMC it would be awesome if they were more focus on flamers, booby traps, det charges, and etc. It would suck if they turn out to be a reskined cadians.
Although I imagine reworking models to look like they belong in a jungle is alot of hard work.
Just starting the video, but if the Krieg don't get a morale bonus when arty(friendly or otherwise) is raining on them, I'll be disappointed.
Remember Steel Legion was one of the first big mods for Winter Assault, they got like 16 to 20 different tanks they could use, it was amazing.

I love that the Rubric Marines actually have an animation where they crumble back into sand when they die. I havent played much of them and figured they just used standard marine animations.

you can increase the max unit and vehcial cap in the skirmish options list as well theres a new addon mod that removes caps on things like tanks and grenadiers

This mod is so cool. I've played ultimate apocalypse and I found it really fun but I should really give this mod a try because it looks so cool.
The Ragnorok tank looks like a KV-2 from WW2. I flippin love it!

I think the whole perpus of the steel legion was to use huge amouts of armour to defeat emines, leaving infantry battles to the death korps, (they are sorta the armour version of the kreig with iron ahrd discipline and a lack of belive in other regiments so they think if they not doing it themselves then it wont be done right, they also where the reason armageddon DIDNT fall too the orks so ide say they a prtty solid lot)
Of course, when I am on vacation unification gets an update God dammit

If I remember correct, Rubrik Marines are basically souls trapped in power armor. Something that their Primarch did.
Not the Primarch Magnus, but the Chief Librarian of the Thousand Sons, Ahriman. He was essentially the second in command of the legion, and defacto leader once Magnus started on the path to Daemonhood and was busy with other things. It was a last ditch effort to stop rampant mutation; and it worked, albeit with a cost.

Shack you have to set your units to hold ground. It’s the infantryman that looks like it’s running. The blue version means they fire at enemies in range, but don’t move to engage or chase them!! Great vid though! Love the Guard!!

About the rubrik marines, they used to be flesh and blood, until a certain sorcerer messed up a spell and now they are literally empty suits of armor with some dust in them.

Somehow a defense oriented faction is worse at their job then their standard counterpart faction, i guess that's what you get when you go for quantity over quality.
Just downloaded this mod and it’s awesome! Only thing I wish you could do is have the massive armies like in ultimate apocalypse
I don't feel the guitar riff would fit with death corp of krieg's whole serious theme the line is also slightly different c&c ending line sounds more like haa where as unification has the proper military hup.
The effect of the rubric marines dying was their souls leaving their armour, they have no bodies but are instead essentially souls operating armour
Much appreciation to the people behind the mod. I am 100% behind Shack with that C&C sound clip but the rest seems great!
Im absolutely in love with the fact that they added Trench Raiders. I created my own Melee-Krieg trench raider squads years and years ago to fill the very same role.
Being S 3 doesnt matter when your weapon is S X2 AP -3 lolol
They also added Krieg Ogryns, but you have to choose one over the other in the win condition menu.

However is more stable and versatile compare to apocalypse, I prefer a lot more unification for all the different factions and units. In addition have survival last stand and kill team mods
Ronnie Kray was more stable than Ultimate Apocalypse.

Survival mode is so fun, and Unification mod is a lot more stable and a bit more balanced compared to UA imo. But yeah i kind of miss the ability to place down actual walls as IG.

The Macharius (Mack-are-ee-us?) is named after the Lord Solar of the same name who led one of if not the largest crusade since the Emperor’s own great crusade 10,000 years before. It only stopped because he reached the edge of the galaxy and couldn’t physically crusade more, though unfortunately many of the conquered worlds eventually slipped from the Imperium’s grasp. I recommend reading into his lore, since he’s an extremely important guard character…

Hey Shack just a FYI to follow up about that "Hell March" issue you mentioned. Frank Kelpacki the writer of the song actually wrote several mixes/variations of that song when it was being put together into C&C Red Alert at the time, the small clip your hearing from that HQ in your video without the awesome guitar riff is one of the song variants that never made it to retail sale, or getting remastered.(The Dev mods wont likely change it to the one we would like to hear, as they would be subject to copyright claims from good old EA) As being a C&C fan of Westwood Studios from way back in the days of the 1990's with Eye of the Beholder, Legend of Kyrandia, Dune, Lands of Lore, and I have some of the rare collectors limited edition Audio CD's for Command And Conquer.
Oh I wasn't arguing for them to change it over to the hell march sound effect. I was arguing for it to be removed completely because it's distracting. :)

I've just downloaded the new Unification Mod 6.9, and I already have trouble with it. Every time I tried to play
either a seven, or eight-player map, the game CRASHES. I tried the Nt Core, and it didn't help. Any ideas on

Did this take Apocalypse mod to the next level? i habent played in years... back on windows 7 ... Best RTs experience ever. An era for me... Soulstorm was a bit rough i remember i had it installed when i felt like getting owned in skirmish with dark eldar or sisters since ... they were ... awful lol i remember my exorcists getting popped by rail guns all the time or a bloodthirster running over my celestine and cannoness ... fack lol
I tried this mod had issues and the discord team was...unhelpful at best! Super condescending. Back to ultimate apocalypse!!!
I screwed up the instillation today. I need to uninstall and wipe everything clean and start . I still got total apocalypse and the other one on there. Titanium. I tried sticking this on top and it was like. nope. Cheers for the vid anyway. I need a morale boost to get me through the process lol. See all the amazing units theyve done.
Hopefully better than the original Soulstorm, which was a buggy, broken, poorly-written mess.
Are there any mods that fix the path finding of this game? My friends and i love playing multiplayer but the old style path finding is truly horrible.

An interesting thing about the krieg is the among other faction their unit the grenadiers has that passive thing like the guardsmen where if you upgrade your hq you gain more units in that squad BUT unlike them if you manage to build enough resources and to upgrade and build the maximum amount of hq you can get about i guess 20 grenadiers in 1 squad which is funny when the trench grenadiers doesn't have that (would have been fun since i love mass tanky melee unit), although there a limit in how many you can build (2 grens and 5 hq), the amount is still enough to make that squad basically unkillable against most infantry because of how much dmg they output might as well use them as meatshield and infantry slayers.
Idk why, but the deathcorp buildings really remind me of the brotherhood of nod aesthetics…then again hell’s March intro may be skewing my view set
that tank you like looks stupid. The turret is over the engine, How does that work? The crews legs are up front but their heads and bodies are in the back? IMPOSSIBLE DESIGN looks like a sailboat with the sail on the bottom.
There are a lot of impractical designs in 40k, you're just at the tip of the iceberg.
