Shack fyi putting generators next to any building accelerates its production and research, so by putting four generators around a main base, you can triple its production and tech up super quickly. edit: the space marines and especially that beachead territory is indeed ultra tough, so I recommend turtling up until you get elysian drop troops fully equiped with lascannons, to one shot their bases (drop em at your base, upgrade them and put them back in the tower to drop them at the space marines' hq), doing that will force the marines to retreat to defend their base and you still have time to destroy it and move to attack another base and kite the marines. Plasma turrets with max range coupled with a sentinel turret for vision are a must to properly turtle and although space marines aren't moved by basilisk shells, they still get damaged so its a nice plus for any turtle.

It hasn't been supported in quite some time, so the models (and opponents) can be hard to find at FLGS (Friendly Local Game Stores). One of the things driving me crazy here... along with Shack's continued commitment to not investing in economy or research... why build so many vehicles if you're not even going to buff their armor?!? Or building one grenade launcher with a squad of plasma Kasrkins... just to make sure that only the grenade launcher will fire most of the time.
The Vulture Gunship is really quite powerful, you just sent in 2 gunships into one of the more heavily defended points on the map without any support. Your main army -also- got chewed up really badly assaulting that same base later. It's really good, but it isn't a flying Baneblade. You can't just send 1 or 2 completely alone and expect them to wipe out huge enemy bases. Oh yeah, and with the jumptroops, they can only go back into the Doctrine Command building. So you CAN deepstrike them over and over again, but you either need to return them home, or build new Doctrine Commands.
He also didn't realize that Tau battlesuits are still infantry. Sending an anti-tank rocket unit headlong into a broadside battlesuit that is specifically made for anti-vehicle... Shack truly embodies the stereotypical Imperial Guard commander!
Sentinel rush can be surprisingly effective. Crank em out early when they're cheap, then buff em up with research and upgrades. Makes a nice roving killsquad or backup for your guardsmen.
I must recommend you invest more in static plasma defences. Equipping the plasma guns on your turrets gives them decent damage against everything but most importantly ABSURD RANGE. Seriously these will outrange everything except the farthest artillery and shred everything that dares come close. Of course they rely on line of sight so you need atleast one recon turret upgrade and maxxed fortify upgrades. Also yes Elysian drop troops are great against pretty much everything including space marines and are the best unique doctrine overall. I mean infiltration + vehicle shredding + snipers + just better lasguns is a hell of a combo. KEY NOTE: the taurox has an ability to make all squad sizes BIGGER, including Kasrkins and Elysians.

I never imagined I would see the Tau Base Assault being done as an Air Assault...and it works really well! Makes me wonder if you could drop forces right on the enemy HQ and win the battle in a fraction of the time
The Titan closest to the Unification mod Imperial Knight Crusader variant you were most likely looking for is the Reaver Titan. As for the reason why the Knight isn''t in the mod that I would say is quite complicated. But simply put the Imperial Knights aren't your ordinary Titans made from Forge worlds and could be said to be more of a separate supporting element for the Titan Legions and Astra Militarum. The more common Knight variants are even supposedly weaker than the Warhound Titans. If you really want to learn more about all of this I advise looking into The Imperial Knights as there is a lot of stuff to write about. From their creation during the Dark Age of Technology, the lose of the Imperial Knights when the Men of Iron revolted and Warp Storms cut off the worlds where they were stationed, the worlds they were now stuck on turning towards feudalism, lastly to the point where they were rediscovered and some of the Great Knight Houses made a pact with the Adeptus Mechanicus (Questor Mechanicus) while others made a pact with the Imperium of Man (Questor Imperialis).
Questoris, armiger and dominus classes (ie the plastic gw ones) are at best supporting elements for titans. Cerastus knights are closer to warhounds and can out-fight them but definitely won't out-shoot them. The acastus knight porphyrion is pretty much equal to a warhound on the firepower front but definitely lacks the mobility.
Watching the commander just casually continue to check his power claws while being hit by an orbital ion cannon instead of getting sent flying is a lot funnier than it should be.
The boardgame to play titans on small scale I believe it's called Adeptus Titanicus, you can find it in the Specialist Games section of the GW site if I recall ^^

However, the difference is that Laser is more for fighting vehicles, while plasma is for fighting infantry. - Artillery should generally be weak against Armor. Fun fact, in the lore the Tau originally thought Titans were just imperium propaganda, because they viewed the concept as a colossal waste of resources and labor. They had quite the shock when several titans engaged them for the first time
In regards to the tiny-scale line. IIRC it was a brief experiment by games workshop to branch into flames of war style scale with multiple tiny minis on a single base. Unfortunately, due to a lack of any significant marketing and lack of availabilty in all but their flagship locations it never really took off and was regretably axed. Which is a real shame because I would love to play at that scale, I think it's a natural fit for 40k.
There was a really old 40k short run tabletop game called Warhammer epic which big model you could get is the warhound but it got discontinued a very long time ago.
oh those air infantry with the jump jets, should be pretty good scouts, instead of using scans, just hop them into sight of the place you wanna strike and start dropping troops, then hop them to another useful spot.
I can't talk for the mod but I played this game loads. Space Marines need plasma weapons AND a rush to keep them from snowballing. Send your guys to kill thiers, while that's is going on, build some vehicles to destroy thier buildings
Gotta say first time playing with this mod last night. And my ass has been with great detail kicked and spanked in every single way and angle that’s known.the emperor is not pleased
there is a small scale version called warhammer epic game with 6mm human figures and smaller tanks. GW discontinued it though :( the other way to play titans is in the titanica game which is titan on titan
Captin' there is error in description - Stun grenade launcher does ZERO physical damage but devastates infantry morale. With broken morale even Space marines infantry will do almost no damage to you. So keep at least 2 in each Special weapon/Kasrkin unit. Effectiveness of weapon affected a LOT by target's armor type. Melta guns great for destroying armor and buildings. Heavy bolters and Plasma guns effective versus any infantry (over 50% Infantry armor penetration according to mod files). Autocanons do good damage to both Infantry and Vehicles armor types (except super-heavy ones). Lazcanons simply longest ranged with great damage ( and best vehicle armor penetration)
i got a weird question captain shack, do you leave the perminent bodies off for performence?, with the amount of changes crucible makes i would not be surprised it that was teh case, but i am still curious.
We are actually more computationally efficient and glitch free than what we started with. But this is still a 32 bit game that only uses 4gb RAM and a single CPU core. Any situations with shit loads of bodies and persistant bodies enabled will cause issues to some extent.
"A lot of people said to do different things..." Guard Players: What they meant to say is do all of those things, at the same time. I've almost finished the Campaign and I promise you, Head on fighting rarely works. I take great pride in disruption efforts, long range Artillery on their means of production. Use infantry against small squads, and vehicles against large groups of space marine. And never fear base building. A 2nd FOB, or defensive line is the difference. Build walls, mines, tank traps, and turrets! Late game turrets such as plasma are absolutely banger. Stationary Artillery weed out their vehicles with hot rounds and EMPs. Like some people mentioned jump troops are valuable, but if you pick another doctrine then air support is your best friend. Swooping in, deploying enigseers and infantry to cao the point and instantly build defenses. Jump to the next point, etc. Spread them thin, and bleed em dry. Then go ahead and just air deploy baneblades. [2 at a time works best, 1 regular and 1 anti infantry like the Vulkan bullet spammer 9000] Also Nukes. You can air drop deathstrikes. Deploy 2 near their base, click it to delete it, and then bum rush the survivors. It will be tedious and hard, but the battle shall be glorious. If you're lucky, you'll turtle long enough to deploy titans. *This is when the fun begins.* Also minor tips: Conscripts divide the Astartes attention during combat and spawn really fast. Use them as a literal human barrier for better units. Ogryn are pog champ, use em in melee while the guard take potshots. Air strikes are doo doo, but in a close infantry fight they can make a difference that matters. Mobile Artillery is a literal god-emperor send. Having infantry engaged, while arty provides support? Absolutely blissful. Upgrades people, Upgrades! Keep your tanks upgraded for the job. I like to avoid flamer Upgrades unless I have a dedicated rush tank with support tanks in back. Some more advice, Priests, Commissars, and Medicae help keep important people alive. Important doesn't always mean best, they can heal solo squads to keep them going. Inspire conscripts to soak up damage, or ensure the heavy hitters don't loose morale and keep pumping rounds. Also if you need knock down assistance, most vehicles have a sped up option. Just ram enemies to send em tumbling. A it's funny B its advantageous And C Did I mention funny? [Some transports even deploy landmines, so use those to pepper chokepoints to make em focus on more medics or force attacking with a slight disadvantage] Also end game weapons are good, I recommend using nukes to clear bases. EMP to fight their titans or just mess with em. And laser to deal with hordes [such as Orks]
I stopped giving tips a few years ago on Shack's videos. He simply doesn't understand many of the game's base mechanics, and he tends to forget advice that's given, even if he remembered it in a previous video. I realized that I was wasting my time, so I now advise people to simply try to enjoy the video, and enjoy the personality when Shack overlooks the same thing for the 100th time...
Hey XP gamer I know its a little late... But to stop the Space marines, just spam turrets around you're base and bring in armor, and I beat them with death core of Krieg and the associated doctrine and just throwing Bane Blades at them... Space marine stronghold is a lot easier than fully set up space marine bases. However going against the tau is bloody hard in crucible mod.
Astartes vs nades, should just buck them a bit not knock them down. so maybe it's like 0.25 of a second instead of a full second maybe that they aren't shooting or otherwise fighting.
The Titan game is Adeptus Titanicus there was a steam game called Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus but the devs lost the licence so you can't buy it anymore.

Yes, Shack, the scale for games like this is called, "Epic","Epic 40,000"or "ADEPTUS TITANICUS" (Insert echo). You can have Titans.
Titanicus you use only titans and knights it's really awesome. Sadly epic is gone for the most part unless you've already have the stuff
You went full Elysian Drop Troopers.
There was a really old 40k short run tabletop game called Warhammer epic which big model you could get is the warhound but it got discontinued a very long time ago.
0:31 in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war
Into the crucible we go
Looks like the drop troops have a jump button on the bottom right and may be able to deep strike WITHOUT the building, hense their whole point.
Blood Angels? BLOOD ANGELS?!? How dare you sir!
They're Blood Ravens....not the Blood Angels, sob
oh those air infantry with the jump jets, should be pretty good scouts, instead of using scans, just hop them into sight of the place you wanna strike and start dropping troops, then hop them to another useful spot.
Epic armageddon, tiny troops and titans upto imperator or titananicus for titan v titan stuff
Warhound Titan go Brrrrrttttttttttt!! XD
Lol 1:20:45 you said "Air Sprite"
This tau superweapon...tickles a bit...
Flack armor son. They harden in response to physical trauma
I can't talk for the mod but I played this game loads. Space Marines need plasma weapons AND a rush to keep them from snowballing. Send your guys to kill thiers, while that's is going on, build some vehicles to destroy thier buildings
Damn, I was thinking an armored column supported by air cavalry, but it looks like the entire column will be air cav
Gotta say first time playing with this mod last night. And my ass has been with great detail kicked and spanked in every single way and angle that’s known.the emperor is not pleased
Glad to see more episodes
there is a small scale version called warhammer epic game with 6mm human figures and smaller tanks. GW discontinued it though :( the other way to play titans is in the titanica game which is titan on titan
Nice it’s gaurd time!!! Let’s go!
Looks like the cannon was targeting the guys you put in the bunker
It was called war hammer 40k epic… the minituare tabletop version you were asking about
Quantity does have a quality all it's own
Someone should mod star wars empire at war, with battle fleet gothic 2 and dawn of war 2. That game would be fantastic fr.
They did but it was abandoned. You can only play skirmish
I think you need to make a video showcasing the Titans off!
I leave it on and don’t have any noticeable problem.
I found out that having like 35 defense guns will affect it lol
We are actually more computationally efficient and glitch free than what we started with.
But this is still a 32 bit game that only uses 4gb RAM and a single CPU core. Any situations with shit loads of bodies and persistant bodies enabled will cause issues to some extent.
Love this series! Great entertainment
"A lot of people said to do different things..."
Guard Players: What they meant to say is do all of those things, at the same time.
I've almost finished the Campaign and I promise you,
Head on fighting rarely works.
[2 at a time works best, 1 regular and 1 anti infantry like the Vulkan bullet spammer 9000]
Also
Nukes.
You can air drop deathstrikes.
Deploy 2 near their base, click it to delete it, and then bum rush the survivors.
It will be tedious and hard, but the battle shall be glorious.
If you're lucky, you'll turtle long enough to deploy titans.
*This is when the fun begins.*
Also minor tips:
Conscripts divide the Astartes attention during combat and spawn really fast.
A it's funny
B its advantageous
And C
Did I mention funny?
[Some transports even deploy landmines, so use those to pepper chokepoints to make em focus on more medics or force attacking with a slight disadvantage]
Also end game weapons are good, I recommend using nukes to clear bases.
@@singerman7560 😔
Used be to, there was something called Epic 40k.
You need some Tactical resupply ordinace logistics lads. ;)
Are there any plans for another Star wars Empire at war series? Can't wait to see more ❤️
Seems like the bots have inevitably showed up, you know what to do captain shack. Seem to be specifically targeting me for some reason
I wanna see a space marine or necrons run
Such a good battle!
Astartes vs nades, should just buck them a bit not knock them down. so maybe it's like 0.25 of a second instead of a full second maybe that they aren't shooting or otherwise fighting.
Yes it called Warhammer epic
Your all wrong. Techpriest rush.
That would be interesting
They do hit hard once upgraded
The Titan game is Adeptus Titanicus there was a steam game called Adeptus Titanicus: Dominus but the devs lost the licence so you can't buy it anymore.
The most thing I like in your channel is stellaris seasons I really miss stellaris can you make a new season with the republic or Aramco mega cooperation maybe
It drives me crazy watching your sentinel getting destroyed right in front of you while you're talking. I totally get that you're narrating a video, but I find myself constantly yelling at the screen while units are dying. Great content though. Totally have to reinstall DOW.
Same lol.
And the lack of sentinels they are good cheap armor units that support infantry pretty well especially with the various weapons.
Muh poor little Tau are nerfed to no end. Those kroot units on the top side drop should have atleast given you a run for your money
micro-version is Warhammer 40k: Epic
Why doesn't this series have a playlist?
Yes there is Warhammer Epic, but that hasn't been a thing for a long time sadly
I do have a question as I've tried doing this many times to no solution. How is it do you queue up more than one building with a single builder??? I couldn't figure it out at all and have tried many different options
Size from small to large. Knight warhound reaver war loard imperater
Sending a request to HQ we need a tutorial for X4 star wars...its a bit of a learning curve is some aspects and no video of one actually exists, its just base game X4 and its not by you soooooo yeah it not so good for this old trooper
For the Empror
How do you play the campaign?
Also this mod is SO DAMN HARD, I get THRASHED even on easy I'm having a rough time as an IG player, I do like Necrons too, but the AI rushes nukes ant titans
Shack: Crucible vs Unificaiton?
Ayy. 4 minutes? I'm early af
