11 years later, and this still touches my soul like the first time! That Gael theme..... and there is no instrument that can play amazing grace better than the pipes
I am a Scot. My great grandfather was Mate McIntyre. Just got home from Scotland what a trip. Want to go back for more. Stood on the battlefield of Culloden, tearful
As a member of the Clan Cameron I'm proud to say that the sounds of these magnificent instruments have gone before the highlanders in many great and legendary battles. Hail Scotland!
A Cameron? My Dad Married a Cameron, Good People!! Myself I am A Lovat Fraser!......Not to be confused with the Lowland Fraser's....There not of good Highland stock!!
Awful good;gives me the shivers!! How can mankind ever forget their roots? The old ones are living in and among us.They nor we ever will be 'dead'! We are meant to live forever Keep playing and singing your ancestors tunes!!! Peter
Bagpipes give me the peace of mind I so desperately search for in life. They might only suffice for a certain amount of time but they're wonderful creations. Bless you Scots.
I'm Irish proud, the name is Rouse we're part of the Fuller clan we are small and not many left. But listen to this music makes me feel like we're all here again..... MISS YOU DAD and miss you grampa Fuller
proud of my scottish family proud of being scottish proud and never doubted i have never claimed to be somebody else, i feel actual pride listning to these magnificent instroments
what if you were a proud person from another culture our country, Ireland? New Zealand? Africa? does being proud of your history , routes and enjoying the music and pride feeling you get from listening to the music mean nothing if you don't play the instrument? that's just plain stupid, i don't play the bagpipes does not make me not Scottish, or proud to be Scottish or does not mean i don't feel pride listening to them
AlaskanThunder245 I think the first song is the bagpipe version of the celtic song Promentory from the amazing movie "The last of the Mohicans" so if you you enjoyed the first song i would recommend listening to the original
Andrew Schmidt no way thats where I've heard this from. Sounded so familiar, and Last of the Mohicans is my father's all time favorite movie and makes me and my relatives watch it with him ever year!
I'm English, but with a welsh dad and scottish mum. I've spent about 1/3 of my life in Scotland. I live in Wales for university but feel a huge connection to all british music. :D I speak both gaelic and welsh, and one day hope that british people can all respect each other for who they really are.
+jasonito23 I came here specifically looking for bagpipe music. I like to hear it at different times of the day, I have a tune for an alarm and the look I get from others in California amuses me. 😆
Angels must play pipes! I cannot describe my feelings... I was in Nova Scotia once, for the Highland Games. There I met bagpipes. They stole my heart forever!!
It amazes me that a small country like Scotland is so well known throughout the world and loved by so many, of course the pipes and the kilt certainly help. I left my homeland 40 years ago but it is still close to my heart
truly stirring music, the bagpipes are a beautiful and under-rated instrument. the old instruments of war, they still bring hope to the hearts of those that listen to them and inspiration to those that need the motivation to continue forward.
I love the bagpipes, this is wonderful. I play it at work, but my co-workers can't appreciate the skill and talent it takes to play this amazing instrument. THANK YOU
I love the sound of bagpipes...as a young lad, in Teggiano, during Christmas, a piper used to come to the piazza and play beautiful Christmas songs on his bagpipe...these sounds have stuck with me ever since, I guess it was the seed that was planted within me...years later I married me a beautiful Irish-American flame-haired lassie!! thank you very much for posting...God Bless you!!
My Grandson is learning the bagpipes, at the moment it sounds nothing like this, but one day I hope he will play such beautiful music and bring joy to all. Awe inspiring music the technical difficulties leave me breathless, or is it just the music, don't quite know, but which ever it is, I just love it.
I get bagpipes aren't for everyone but like... all i hear is home. I'm only partially Scottish/Irish, never been out of the US, and barely traveled at all, and yet i keep coming back to videos like these because they make me feel more at peace than anywhere I've ever lived. First time i ever heard them in person at a Girl Scouts gathering, i cried, a lot. I still don't get why bagpipes pull such an emotional reaction out of me.
I once heard it said that God gave man the gift of knowledge to build the Bagpipe just so He could hear us play His favorite song, "Amazing Grace..." What a befitting statement for a blessed instrument and an amazing song....kudos to the Scots men and women who have proudly carried this tradition from generation to generation and for generations to come....
+flip inheck ....Flip....was referring to the music, alone, played on Bagpipe....however, now that you mention it, please school me on Bagpipes and the music for the song, "Amazing Grace..." ....for instance, are Bagpipes of Scottish origin or an English invention; also, if the words to the song I know as "Amazing Grace" are of English origin, is it fair to say that the Bagpipe music always heard with the song was written by an English person...? (...apologizing in advance---am from America and, sadly, I know nothing of the history of this, one of my all-time favorite songs....can you please fill in the blanks I am drawing....thank you...)
I live right next to Dunnottar Castle and seeing it with Amazing Grace playing really makes the hair stand up. Scottish, British or whatever, proud to have this as part of my heritage.
Musique qui vous prend aux tripes ,j'ai visité l'écosse 2 fois et j'en suis revenue enchantée par le paysage et les gens gentils qui vous ouvrent les bras .Je repartirais encore si Dieu veut .Merci aux écossais .
This is just amazing, forget the haters, they obviously cant hear the beauty in sccotish bagpipes, bagpipes shouldn't be taken for granted at all, scottish bagpipes are the best. GO SCOTLAND!!! xoxoxox
Thank you I had the most terrible day at work in the last,... well let me say in a long time, then the pipes come along and the pic of Scotland, and they help me thru the night, thanks again.
So few are able to see the true beauty of bagpipes how they can't see it I'm not sure I am part Scottish and i live for the soothing sounds of the bagpipes they reveal such an emotion far beyond anything I can explain...
I love the sound of bagpipes & I'll probably never stop loving the sound of them - they're brilliant instruments in my opinion, great songs, great blow tinkers
Amazing how many people love the bagpipe. I am Canadian, but my Mom. born in Perth, Scotland, came here to Canada in 1947. My Dad.s family 1850. I still consider myself to be a Scot. My Grandpa was a Black Watch in WW2. The most feared regiment! The bagpipes were at one point outlawed in Britain. Of course now, no longer. The greetings from India, Egypt, Ireland, all over this planet it is a call to arms, for truth, justice, and freedom. Enough said.
I don't know what it is with bagpipe music, but it seems to always know exactly what note to go to and when to do it. It's very soothing. And wasn't expecting that bass groove in the first selection; loved it
I have a really important exam in half an hour, this exam is the basis of many major life decisions. The first song just pumped my up my adrenaline level , I'm motivated more than ever! Thank you !!!
Agreed, until you get a Scot drunk of course. then the accent makes them completely incomprehensible. Or maybe the whiskey makes them that way. Either way, with a snoot full you can't understand a flipping word.
Aluciel286 i totally agree with you that it shnuldnt matter who you are and where ur from, it gives us all that amazing feel. im a true scotswoman and so proud, and patriotic. This music always gives me goosebumps. Love it!
I was born in CUBA and i love the bagpipes other than the violin there is no better instrument. the sound comes from and thru your heart. Laddie, Ich liebe deutchen volk.
I love this. And everything about the celtic beauty of living. Bagpipes were clearly made to move the soul and stir the emotions of every man, woman, and child. Now if only UA-cam had a comment filter for ignorance, irrationalism, and the effects of the internet's ability to encourage anonymous hostility, we'd have ourselves a grand slam :) Now go listen to the music and let it fill you, and stop trying to prove to everyone that your comment somehow matters. Nobody is really listening :)
Great song played in the movie "Last of The Mohicans". One of my favorites,&I wish I knew the name of it. The version from the movie is still the best version of it I've heard so far,but this in the video is excellent as well!
Tysvm gor sharing this. Its very kind & considerate of you. Its always done something to my soul to hear this music. As if I am being called home. Blessings to you. -M
I was born in America, but my blood is from Scotland..... pipes and drums always make my soul homesick......and proud.
Should come back maybe. Are economy is not shit any more. And all the Americans I know that have come to Britain prefer it here for some reason :/.
That's good enough son, yer "One of ours"
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Best instrument on earth thumbs up if you agree
It is vastly ancient, and still UNMATCHED
You know an instrument is amazing when it can be played at a party or a funeral and feel like it belongs at both
Irish Wake?
Oh bagpipes, you be so good!
I wonder why this piece of beautiful instrument isn't popular.
The whole world must be in awe of this wonder.
To be honest, I'd like to play it except the nearest person who can teach me lives 1h and a half away sooo yeah
Aye laddie :3
stave m If you play it wrong of course..
to true I love the sound of bag pipes
Vikas Bhat "I wonder why this piece of beautiful instrument isn't popular. "
Because it's the most annoying instrument if played incorrectly.
Being of Scottish descent the sound of the pipes stirs my heart and soul. I loved my visit to Scotland - what a beautiful place it is.
bin ein bayer aber habe so eine sehnsucht, meine füsse auf diesen wundervollen land zu sezen ,und zu gehen.!liebe grüße BERNHARD ROTTELBERER wenn ein er ? einen platz frei hat bitte melden

Hail the Celts brother

Keep playing and singing your ancestors tunes!!!

Amazing grace on the bagpipes is so powerfull. Voices cannot do it justice.
Bagpipe music is so rich and layered, how do you not appreciate it's beauty? Something about a melancholy monotone under it all is just so satisfying.
proud of my scottish family proud of being scottish proud and never doubted i have never claimed to be somebody else, i feel actual pride listning to these magnificent instroments
Diana Bravestorm Nothing to be proud of, if you aren't making the music yourself
im proud of scottish history and my scottish family you got a problem?
Proud of being danish and having my ancestors invaded britain :D
Diana Bravestorm He's saying if you really proud, then you'd learn to play yourself. Otherwise it's just a "hollow pride"
what if you were a proud person from another culture our country, Ireland?

Pewdiepie Sucks that name tho
AlaskanThunder245 i agree
+flip inheck And Gaelic is part of the Celtic languages. Nevertheless, Promentory is based on the song "The Gael" by Dougie MacLean from 1990.
I'm English, but with a welsh dad and scottish mum. I've spent about 1/3 of my life in Scotland. I live in Wales for university but feel a huge connection to all british music. :D I speak both gaelic and welsh, and one day hope that british people can all respect each other for who they really are.

Now go listen to the music and let it fill you, and stop trying to prove to everyone that your comment somehow matters. Nobody is really listening :)
