Hi love it beinging part Scottish myself but never seen it has made my day. My father is full blood and I just had to share with him bought tear of more then just happiness...
Well, I live in Brazil, but to know the Highlands is an old dream of mine... These wonderful songs are ideal to hear when drinking a single malt whisky...
30 years ago I was touring Scotland (and the UK) on my Harley that I shipped over . I was camped out in the Highlands and woke up one morning making coffee on my camp stove when out over the hills came floating the sound of bagpipes. I could tell they were a long way off but the sound was so hauntingly beautiful ! I had never really appreciated them until that moment. After I broke camp and rode off, I came upon a man out in the middle of nowhere in full regalia playing those pipes. That’s one of my most favorite memories of Scotland. Thank you for this video.
That's beautiful and a true memory, one you won't forget. I have yet to go visit. My ancestors go back to the 11th Century there. Borthwick Castle still stands today and is a bed and breakfast. But I'd love to camp out as well. I can't wait

I’m a US citizen… Sincerely appreciate this! Many years ago in Columbia, SC, USA, I went to a concert where The Black Watch performed. Sitting beside me was a lady from Perth! I told her we had been there. Told her my genealogy of being Scot… and that I just could not get enough of this music. She said, “You are us.” To this day, that’s one of the nicest compliments in my life! 🏴🏴Very grateful! Amen!
Mÿ brother was Black Watch, Queen 's Guard....so called in the day. Wore the kilt and spoon...but no performances. He was being trained for infantry. Royalty and their spares ; fact ɓe true. From an American with Irish, Scot, and Welsh Celt blood-with some Norwegian/Swede-the pipes are one of my favorite things to listen to. I got my love for them from my Grandma Johnson. Long live a free and UNITED Ireland and a free Scotland.
Being born and raised in the States of Greek blood, I grew up to a whole litany of music thanks to my uncle who enjoyed music from all over the world. I always enjoyed listening to the Pipe and Drums during the Saint Patrick’s Day parades. While serving in the military we had the pleasure of parading with a Scottish Military Pipes and Drums unit. Definitely a soul raising experience! Now living back in the land of my Ancestry I have discovered that the Greeks also have a more "primitive" version of the pipes called the tzabouna, it lacks the drones of the Pipes but still brings the hairs on my skin to attention. I have also noticed that some players of the traditional pipe have started to add a drone pipe to the tzabouna bringing a little more soul to it. Thank you for posting this valuable collection of traditional music!
I first went to Scotland in 1963 when I was 12 A school trip camping , climbing, hiking and canoeing in Glen Etive . It opened my eyes to scenery beyond beauty , Wild Deer roaming free , Eagles Ptrarmigan Weather changing by the second beautiful at any time but forbidding . Since then Ive been back many times in my truck and on holiday . The whole country is amazing . I think the Celtic People have an aura and imagination unique on this world The Irish are he same with a fierce patriotic nature unequalled

It was my honor to meet a Warrant Officer, a Scotsman of great character and honor. As my heritage has some Scots blood, I am most fond of the pipes that so melodiously sing the tales of Scotland. Brave are the people, proud is the heritage, deep is the wisdom, eternal is the glory. Scotland The Brave, may ye always be free.

Very relaxing, taking you out of this evil world...with wars, conflicts, slavery, evil politicians, hard to swallow and to accept. Thank you for this video everyone is free now.., in a different world...
Scotland has gone to shit. The lack of freedom is staggering. The landscape has been ruined by WOKE stupid wind turbines. There's fly tipping and litter everywhere.
As a proud Scotsman from Aberdeen but unfortunately at moment is not living in Scotland. Isn't Scotland such beautiful country ❤.yes 😢 I'll go hame soon ❤❤❤
The Scottish Highlands and the Appalachians (US) are the same mountain range. This looks like where I live. I never get tired of the beauty. I love the Uilleann pipes featured in this music.
I, too, live in the Appalachians. I'm in the Laurel Highlands region of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Scots-Irish heritage as well. It feels nice to have a small piece of something like Scotland at my doorstep.
Ganz im inneren meiner Seele, merke ich,das bei dieser Musik, meine uralten Gene zum Vorschein kommen!Wir sind doch im Herzen das,was wir sind!Egal welche Sprachen wir sprechen!Wir gehören zusammen!❤
My Grandmother RIP & Dad are from Aberdeen . I was born in New Zealand but for some reason I always get goosebumps listening to bagpipe or Scottish Celtic music
I have loved bagpipe music since I was a young’un. Mom came from Scot-Irish-English heritage. But I was the only one in her extended family who was drawn to the bagpipes. Then again, Mom and I were the only ones who really loved dance and music. ‘Guess we inherited the “good” genes. Ha ha …. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO
I've always loved the Bagpipes...to me they're so Spiritually transcendent & so hypnotic...they would be the most beautiful piece of instrument ever made. 🥰❤️
Haunting music echos of men long gone who had courage physical toughness a clan around them .Sacred was their land life and music. We will need their like again.
I had a luxury of visiting Scotland and stayed there for 2 weeks while I was studying and working in the UK. I must say I'm very proud of Scotland although I'm Thai.
So nice to see such absolute beauty that's not been destroyed by massive influxes of humans. And accompanied by the beautiful sounds of the pipes! Thank you so much for sharing!
Wow Scotland! No where is like Scotland! Awesome. I wish I were a Scot! Attended the royal tattoo saw the stone of destiny.what a wonderful place. Bless you Scots! 🇺🇸🏴
My family is lowland Scots, Macgregor...but the history says one of my ancestors killed a British noble and fled into the highlands to escape the pain of prosecution. I'm hoping that putting a British noble 6 foot under gets my family a wee bit of highland cred.
Brings a tear to me eyes, absolutely beautiful You can be the toughest man on the planet, and be humbeled by the sheer power of the bagpipes, they invoke such a strong emotion, makes me damn near cry every time. Alba gu bráth
I listen to it several times a day! What amazing melodies! I am part Celtic, though I am Cuban, this music resonates in my soul and prepares me everyday in the mornings for battle and at night for soothing respite...God bless you!
Left Scotland in 1980, returned with my youngest daughter last year after 43 years. My daughters was born in Australia. But in her own words "I've never felt so at home and at peace". Already making plans to return in 2025.
How stirring the bagpipes are. Stirs my Scottish heritage in Australia. Have never had the opportunity to visit my ancestral lands, but hope to one day.🦘🐨😁 My father used to tell of hearing bagpipes played in the Malayan jungles in the Pacific chapter of World War 2 when he was made a P.O.W. in Changi after The Fall of Singapore. Said it scared the Japanese soldiers who'd never heard such instruments before, but it helped keep the Allied prisoners' spirits up!
If you are still healthy enough, go now, don't wait. I was born and raised in Scotland and have been back for visits only twice in 60+ years. If I was healthy enough to travel, I would go and maybe never come back to the states. I miss my homeland. So again, if you can go, go.
I live on the Navajo nation, where I live which is near a lake, I would wake up early in the early morning and listen to someone playing the bagpipes. The beautiful sound filled the whole valley. I wish I knew who it was😢. I love the sound of the bagpipes.
I live in Scotland on the Banks of the lower river Clyde With a view of the Highland mountain ranges (mountains in Scotland are called Bens) there is a park in my town that has been used for Highland Games and bagpipe games where 1000s of people pay the bagpipes together in pipe band its quite a sight to see and hear
As with native american flute music or Irish flute music it's from the soul of the land, if you go back far enough in any culture you find we are all the same in the beginning.
@@MrZOMBIE170pay a little more attention, my friend I said Irish flute music not scottish, and if you listen to real Irish flute music you will be transported to visions of the Emerald isle just as the bagpipes bring you visions of scottish countryside.
I love the sounds of our indigenous music, from traditional Navajo songs (with drums) to the sounds of pow wow drums and songs..... music in any form is beautiful. I can still hear my grandfather singing for a healing ceremony, my son sings all those songs as well as the relatives who are medicine people in their own right. It's all beautiful ❤️
Lately my God has encouraged me to strive to think only positive thoughts. I had been watching Christian videos on UA-cam and came across so many that were critical of other faiths, preachers, doctrine, so many things. It was discouraging. Then I found this video and it immediately brought me back to positive thought. What could be better than the beautiful music and stunning scenery? God has a way of giving us exactly what we need and I trust that is exactly why this video appeared on my feed. Praise the Lord. Frank Taylor

I lived Bowels Hall my first semester at UC Berkeley (1989) My room was on the top floor facing the back. On weekends when I stayed in to study a man, in full regalia would play the bagpipes in the mist & fog that covered the hills behind the hall. I’m Hispanic and grew up in the Central Valley of California but have always loved this music. I didn’t want to break the magic but always yelled: You play well Highlander! So grateful for those moments. Thank you Highlander. You played well. When they bury me they will play 2 songs on the bagpipes. One happy, one sad.
Yo, Hermano! Como esta! That was a really touching experience! Now, so long as that Highlander DOESN'T go around swinging a sword & beheading people while screaming "There can only be ONE!", then I guess he's an A-OK guy!
New Mexican here. There was a man playing the bagpipe at our park a few years back. Practicing away from the neighbors or wife I bet. I would listen and enjoy. At times I would walk from my house toward the park like one of the mice drawn by the pied piper. Something primal stirred in my soul. Then he stopped playing there. My heart misses the mesmerizing sound. Thank you for reminding me of the wonder I felt.
Ex British soldier, I lived in Merced for a while back in the 80's. Worked out of both Fresno and Modesto. Happy days. Move to Fl for a couple of years and then ended up with a posting back in the UK.
This calls me home….. there is something about Scotland that feels so close to my heart. ♥️🏴. I truly feel I have lived there in a past life. If I had one wish it would be to live there. 🙏✨. I am blessed to have a sister by heart ♥️ and soul that is Scottish and we have shared adventures together there . I will be back soon. Long live Scotland.🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴. Thank you for this amazing video. I got tears in my eyes….😢.
As a Scottish-American I have been drawn to the pipes since I've been a wee lad, I marched in an American para-military pipe band "The First Highland Watch", we were adopted by the Argyll & Sutherland of Canada... We marched through the Princess gates into the park & then into the CNE stadium with thousands of pipes & drums playing "Scotland the Brave" in perfect unison... Best Day of My Life🏴🇺🇸
I backpacked through the Scottish Highlands in the nineties as a young man. I remember at one point, in the middle of nowhere, being offered a free lift in the back compartment of a postal car because a bus would only arrive 3 days later. I remember zipping open my tent in the mornings on different cliffs around the north and being captivated by the mix of ocean views, fresh air, green grass and the absence of human interference. Seeing Highland cattle in the flesh and sheep graze between glacial erratic boulders that have been there for thousands of years. So much has happened and changed in my (grown up) life since, and I wouldn't be able to repeat the experience now, but that's okay... Thank you for the recollections through this video.
These songs have made me dance and weep.. My tribal Celtic spirit is crazed with fiery passion and love.. Thank you. One day i will go to my ancestral homelands and reconnect to the wisdom and history forgotten in my family tree, until then. BRAVE HEARTS!! Sarah Henry, Campbell Clan. NZ.
I have Scottish, Irish and Welsh ancestry in me. I remember hearing the sound of the bagpipes and they make me cry. They emote such a strong feeling within. From Clan MacKenzie here!!!! Long live Scotland 🏴 My land Oh Alba!
I love the sound of bagpipes. When i was a kid, I was in Boy Scouts in north Georgia, every year when we were at Sydney Dew for the summer camp there was a gentleman that would play Amazing Grace on Friday mornings, it was hauntingly beautiful with the sound flowing through the trees with rolling fog on the ground. Hardly anyone was up yet and i could sit on a log in front of my tent and just close my eyes and listen. I looked forward to Friday every year for that moment.
Hermosa tierra de Escocia, su paisaje es maravilloso y su música con gaitas me recuerda mucho a mi Galicia de España.Gracias por el bonito vídeo y salud a Escocia desde España.🌹🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏👏
I was enjoying the pipes and scenery but when the drums came in so did my tears. Scottish ancestral music has always stirred me at a depth I have never really understood. All my fore folks are from the British,Scottish and Irish countries. Thank you for this amazing visual and aural compilation.
Of all places I first heard a bagpipe being played was in Arizona. Was a foggy spring morning and I was out having a smoke in the backyard when I heard the most amazing sounds come drifting out of the fog. Must have stood there some twenty minutes listening before whoever it was wandered off. To this day I tip my hat (as it were) to that odd piper and give thanks when I hear such sounds. A grand day to all here.
I was educated in Scotland and my father was born at Craigilands,Beattock..I will always have long happy memories of Scotland and its people and this marvellous piping brings it all home.
I have learned that my ancestry on BOTH my parents' sides is 90+% Scots. The Pipes have always been my favorite, since I was a wee lad (I'm 60 now). Some 25 years ago, I got to take my mom on a trip of a lifetime to Scotland. Och ... the memories ... 😊 I am American by birth, Southern/Texan by the Grace of God, but my heart is always in Scotland. 🇺🇸🏴

Scotland has gone to shit.
The lack of freedom is staggering. The landscape has been ruined by WOKE stupid wind turbines. There's fly tipping and litter everywhere.
I am of Irish heritage but can understand the beauty of the land and music God Bless

I am knitting aran and listening to this beautiful music. So peaceful!
I lived in Scotland for 17 years, I left Scotland 3 months ago and I miss it already, Highland is wonderful

Bagpipes have always called to my soul ❤️
I think there is something about pipes music that affects a lot of people around the world
I'm British, and they call to me. There is something quite beautiful and soul touching feeling from listening to them

Me, too! Must be in the blood.
I have a Scottish mother grew up listening to the pipes my younger sister plays
I've always loved the Bagpipes...to me they're so Spiritually transcendent & so hypnotic...they would be the most beautiful piece of instrument ever made. 🥰❤️
I'm ex military, I learned to LOVE THE PIPES WHILE MARCHING! They raised hair on neck then, they still do! Thank you. John P.
Haunting music echos of men long gone who had courage physical toughness a clan around them .Sacred was their land life and music. We will need their like again.
Cheers, brother
Yep, nothing beats marching behind a good and loud pipe band. I'm English/Irish and it makes me go all paddy.
I had a luxury of visiting Scotland and stayed there for 2 weeks while I was studying and working in the UK. I must say I'm very proud of Scotland although I'm Thai.
Scotland is the most beautiful country on earth.
So nice to see such absolute beauty that's not been destroyed by massive influxes of humans. And accompanied by the beautiful sounds of the pipes! Thank you so much for sharing!
Missing my former croft in Scotland, happy memories of love for a wonderful, beautiful country.
Wow Scotland! No where is like Scotland! Awesome. I wish I were a Scot! Attended the royal tattoo saw the stone of destiny.what a wonderful place. Bless you Scots! 🇺🇸🏴

long live Scotland and the highlanders
My family is lowland Scots, Macgregor...but the history says one of my ancestors killed a British noble and fled into the highlands to escape the pain of prosecution. I'm hoping that putting a British noble 6 foot under gets my family a wee bit of highland cred.

I’m the same, I forget how beautiful it is even though it’s on my doorstep lol
I got Lowlander from my father. I also sense a burning in my blood when i hear the pipes....fills me with pride.
And some people say White people have no culture. Idiots.
So it should
Doesn't matter what mood I'm in... when I hear the pipes, I start crying. Must be my Scottish genes. 😊 This was a beautiful compilation. Thank you.

How stirring the bagpipes are. Stirs my Scottish heritage in Australia. Have never had the opportunity to visit my ancestral lands, but hope to one day.🦘🐨😁
My father used to tell of hearing bagpipes played in the Malayan jungles in the Pacific chapter of World War 2 when he was made a P.O.W. in Changi after The Fall of Singapore. Said it scared the Japanese soldiers who'd never heard such instruments before, but it helped keep the Allied prisoners' spirits up!
Please don’t leave it too long to visit Scotland it’s truly beautiful...
@@valdavis4474 do the Scottish not have soleful flute music
God's planet is a beautiful place look at as much of it as you have a chance thanks for the pipes so deserving

@@fredhercmaricaubang1883 I'm proud of my Irish ancestry and of my Scottish ancestry! Love the bagpipes ❤❤❤

I was born in Scotland. And miss it so much

Oh wow! Thank you for sharing that memory. :)

Wow - a foggy morning in AZ!!! All it takes is a bit of fog to stir the Scottish soul, where it finds itself.
it seems the fog is significant in inspiring the pipers to come out worldwide...early morning too.
I was educated in Scotland and my father was born at Craigilands,Beattock..I will always have long happy memories of Scotland and its people and this marvellous piping brings it all home.
