American here with Scots-Irish ancestry. I live in the Alleghany Mountains of Virginia, and when I see the rolling hills of Scotland and Ireland, I feel like I'm home, and that's what my ancestors must have felt when they immigrated to these mountains. The music of the old country is preserved in the fiddles and songs of the Alleghany hill people. Research has shown that the music of my mountains is the music my ancestors brought here. The language we speak, especially in the mountains, is the language from the King James era of history. Even though I have never visited the old country, my soul receives a little familiar thrill when I hear this music.

My Da was a MacLeod of Lewis with family origins dating back many centuries (to Olaf The Black from memory⛵️⚓️☠️). Most of my family members have been privileged enough to travel back to his homeland to visit his last surviving relatives & witness the incredible surrounds of the Hebrides. My sister & I (both very much MacLeods by name & nature😉) are yet to get back to my father’s ancestors & geographic origins but we’ll manage somehow in the future, that’s for certain. With much love & longing from Australia👍🏼💜🏴

At Busch Gardens Williamsburg V.A they use to play music of the old country. I've loved it since the beginning. Now they play modern garbage while walking through a setting that's supposed to capture Great Britain of old.
My family is about 50% Scots-Irish and 50% French. We were among the first to go through the Cumberland Gap with Boone and the early explorers. My dad's family was French and had some of the earlier "runners of the woods" among them, from whom we gather our Native American heritage. We're Americans! That is what America is all about, fierce people who worked together and survived tough times. God, I love the pipes!

Τι όμορφη μουσική!!!!! Αγγίζει την ψυχή μου !!!!!
This music is incredibly beautiful and so powerful. The hauntingly stunning landscape as well. I have to find a CD with this music.
Scotland.....I see thee through the deep sound of this music, the hillside the lowlands the highlands and in the crevics of the rocks. Live on....live....on. Carmen Stewart.
Beautiful, it brings back memories of a place I haven’t been, in this lifetime anyway.
Pamela Beurman perfect sentiment
Pamela Beurman A medium I spoke with once told me that my soul originated in Scotland. Explains why I long for it though I’ve never been, either. :)
Pamela Beurman there is always time to visit Scotland we love visitors

Beautiful Pipes Always a pleasure to hear the pipes
Soul soothing 🤘🔥✌️❤️
I saw them back at Molly Maguires and I will never forget the sense of heritage I feel from their pipes and drums. May the wind be at your backs my friends. 🍀
There is so much power in this music. Because of the drums, I think. It is kind of mysterious.
I'm not Scottish that I know of but the beat speaks to my heart and soul.. I can feel it in my veins! Love this!

Clan Graham on my Dad's side and Clan Kennedy from Ireland on my Mom's Side. Thank you for your amazing music and keeping the Celtic spirit alive.
Bagpipes are in the primal key of B flat,Gods favorite key,the voice of the wind, you know...the breath of life.
@@Scorpion-vh8lj it is known
Cool comment McLean! Though some folk hate the pipes, I've always loved the sound--something in the blood I suspect.
Well said my friend
just like trumpets ;-)

Love from Ireland.!!!
When the Romans in Britain saw the people who would love this music They built a manned wall across the entire island.........and went no further.
they actually built two walls Hadrian's Wall and the Antonine Wall which was further north.
They Romans built the walls as defence walls yes Antoine wall is in bonybridge along the road from me it's a ruin and been built over on top it's a pile of this was grass grown over top with a plaque was pushed Back to the English borders and defeated by the jackobites the battle of Falkirk and then gadrian built the wall across the border from West to east to keep the celts from enialating the Romans intact when you look at it the English are from Roman descents as they invaded there land and Pilates and bread with there woman the rest is history lol 🕵️👍👏🏴🥃
Until they invaded.😡😡😡
@@tonytotten408 that same wall runs all the way to drumchapel
@@tonytotten408 the romans built Hadrians wall were it is because anything further north wasn't worth the trouble. They were right.
This pipe and drums music is immeasurable, unfathomable and beyond description , and full of admiration and deep emotion , and comfortable to the ear and the mind
This music is a cradle of human soul
That stirs my Celtic blood!
🔥🔥🔥
I see this group at least twice a year at my local Renaissance fair. They are awesome.
Scott's are insane ,crazy, wild, animals !!!! Thank GOD I'M ONE!
By far my favorite version of the Gael
Wow que hermosos paisajes, que bellos lugares ,me encantaría conocerte cada uno,y la música le queda como anillo al dedo, muy muy hermoso
What is it with a lot of this Celtic music?
It has a resonance with me that I highly appreciate and don't understand in the slightest.
Always loved the pipes as my dad did before me. Saw Albannach several years ago in New Jersey at a Scottish festival and got to chat with the members. What a great bunch. And their music is outstanding
As an good old german man, I must say, great this scotthis backpipers. Really cool. I like it.❤
Only just found this fantastic music gets your blood going long may you play our real Scottish music 👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🎶🎶
Man, I love me a good drum line. Where has this been all my life.
Not sure if I have Scottish roots or not but I love this kind of music. Sometimes if I feel down, this is my go to music😀👍🏴
Albannach rocks!!!! I love their music. If I get married I want Albannach to play at my reception 👍 The pictures in this video are as breathtaking as the song

I just watched this video, thanks to a commenter above, blew me away.
Saw these guys at an outdoor concert a few years ago in Kincardine, Ontario. The ground literally shook with their thunder.
I would like to feel that
My Da was a MacLeod of Lewis with family origins dating back many centuries (to Olaf The Black from memory⛵️⚓️☠️).
Awesome performance! Dougie McLean is one of my favorite artists but I've never heard his work like this before. WOW!
Clan McGregory on one side and Hayslip(Heslip) on my Dad's. This really speaks to my soul..
I have NO idea how I stumbled on this, but I am so happy I did! This the most incredible blend of bagpipes and drums I've ever heard - I don't even have the words! Thank you for so much for this. I love, love, love it!
My blood is 100% Celtic, so I would rather listen to this than anything on the radio.
God bless Celtic brave race
I knew this woman - way back in my youth - who would sometimes say, “ Sometimes all you can say is. . . WOW !
The only people and nation that the Roman empire could not conquer. Julius Caesar call us barbarians for running naked into battle with the sounds of pipes and drums coming out from the forrest. The romans built Hadrian's wall, still there to this day! #Bornfighting clan McCaffrey!
Ungovernable the Romans said!
And they were fucken right!
The Brits still haven't learned that!!☘
