Just looked at their website and prices ... suffice to say I can't afford a strap (£200) let alone the watch! Stunningly beautiful watches though, if I get a chance ever, I'd love one in honour of my grandfather who'd been a Spitfire pilot.
I'm not into these type of watches that have bits inserted into them that are not part of the watch movement itself. It's not just ZW, I would have likely had the new Breitling Aerospace as I love the orange dial had they not put some of the orbiter in it. One of those with the standard Aerospace back would have been brilliant. Alien objects in timepieces is just too gimmicky IMO.
I bought a Hanhart 417ES which had a "Steve McQueen" link I bought an Omega Speedmaster Moonphase which had a "Moon Landing" link I bought a Rolex GMT Master 2 "Rootbeer" which had a "Clint Eastwood" link I bought an Omega Seamaster 300 which had a "James Bond" link I bought a G-Shock MRG-B5000B which had a link to my childhood in 1983 But this watch is linked to a mosquito WW2 Mission? ... for £3,600. You'd have to be very keen to validate that connection.
This is a brand that seeks out , sources and celebrates British engineering history how is this anything like the watches you’ve listed? Half of them are not made nor assembled by humans! There are a hundred of each that’s it. Someone is going to find a close connection with the brand and the watch. The fact it ain’t gonna be you is fine! The watch is inspired by the plane and operation . At least find the respect the brand deserves for making something different ??
@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I'm exactly the type of guy who would spend this type of money on a decent watch. I've spent that on a MRG GShock as a curiosity. It isn't a lack of respect, it's finding a connection with the brand that inspires me. Does WW2 stories inspire me... I don't feel it to be honest... we'll be in a new WW3 before long at this rate. Buy a bombing watch then in the sales.
@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Oh... and by the way... I spent a week in Cambridgeshire recently, visiting the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. Reading about WW2 and the Operations Centre, the vehicles, planes, infrastructure. If this watch was made available in a context setting like that, maybe I would've bought one... there and then.
Every Tall Tail supplied by the owner was going over splendidly until they showed the black plastic transport watch box, then it was completely Obvious, these watches are produced & assembled in China, believe me it's 100% true. I'm curious what the Mad Watch Collector's cut is to pretend any of this drivel is legitimate, because it's not.
You are an idiot my friend. Not only are you disrespecting me and the channel I’ve built over the last 4 years, you’ve disrespected a brand that go above and beyond to make amazing watches. Shame on you man , surely you’re better than this?
Same case that £70 ali express watches come in . Also, we've seen this dial before on the longines spirit so nothing new there. And nowhere near the prestige or history that comes with Longines. £200-300, OK but, please........
Hi Russell. I'm always stunned at how much Zero West seems to polarise opinion, most of it seems to be about their price. There can be absolutely no doubt how well they're made and the finishing is so good. To me the best watches have a story or memory attached to them and how can you possibly not think that the background story to the vast majority of their watches is not worth a premium. Jeez, you're actually buying a piece of bona fide history here. If i had the Dambusters watch i'd be showing the case back to EVERYONE!! Graham and Andrew and great guys, so passionate about making their pieces the very best they can be
Am I in the right comments section? Your all talking about that overpriced eyesore that MWC just reviewed yeah? This is a tacky piece of crap that MWC had to build the courage to put on the screen a full 5 minutes after the vid started. They must pay really well.
Absolutely stunning timepiece! If I had that sort of money to spend on a watch I would DEFINITELY have one of these. Totally agree with everything said buddy! 😉👌
Another entertaining presentation, thanks - Not a bad design, I quite like an easy to grip crown. Overall design seems like an Alpinist wanabee. Lume looked good. Might be cool in all your vids to see set an image of the lume after a particular length of time and we can make a judgement from watch to watch. Price, well other comments have got that covered 😂 Cheers
Sorry Russ, not doing it for me I’m afraid. Nice spec but nothing amazing. Zero West logo looks s bit like a cartoon graphic and the whole channeling Britains glorious military history is getting a bit meh. I so wish our UK micro brands spent more time looking forward not backward ( Studio Underdog and Marloe springs to mind as exiting micro’s doing something unique ) It’s a tidy field type watch for sure but at Tudor Black Bay 58 money it’s kinda taking the piss a bit with that Selita movement. I don’t feel this company is a good fit for you.🤔
I really like your content, but the price seems very steep. Also, I’m not someone who has to have the most expensive movement, as long as it works and it‘s decently accurate. But if im spending that kind of money, i‘d rather have something better than a SW200… I’m not accusing you of getting paid for this review, i really think you genuinely like this watch, but your review didn’t at all convey why one should Buy this watch instead of something like a nomos or a sinn who seem to be a much better value. Maybe you‘re just that much richer than me. I have 1000€ watches, but that‘s a huge pile of money for me. I do have grail watches I would spend 2-3000€ on, but your review does a poor job explaining why one should spend that much money on this watch.
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR that is true but my point is that by having that movement it would put it in the company of higher priced watches like monta, rather than watches under 1k.

What?
TGV would have a hey-day with these.
Not unless there's something in it for him à la Carl Friedrik 😉
waaaaaay tooooo muuuuuch money
Stunning watches, Zero West has nailed the designs on these.
That case is awesome too!
I bought a Hanhart 417ES which had a "Steve McQueen" link
I bought an Omega Speedmaster Moonphase which had a "Moon Landing" link
I bought a Rolex GMT Master 2 "Rootbeer" which had a "Clint Eastwood" link
I bought an Omega Seamaster 300 which had a "James Bond" link
I bought a G-Shock MRG-B5000B which had a link to my childhood in 1983
But this watch is linked to a mosquito WW2 Mission? ... for £3,600. You'd have to be very keen to validate that connection.
It's almost in the "the guy who cut that famous guy's hair wore one once!"
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR... you deleted my previous comment. Wow... 😂😂
Unsubscribed.
Sandpaper vibes brilliant 😂😂😂👍
Every Tall Tail supplied by the owner was going over splendidly until they showed the black plastic transport watch box, then it was completely Obvious, these watches are produced & assembled in China, believe me it's 100% true. I'm curious what the Mad Watch Collector's cut is to pretend any of this drivel is legitimate, because it's not.
You are an idiot my friend. Not only are you disrespecting me and the channel I’ve built over the last 4 years, you’ve disrespected a brand that go above and beyond to make amazing watches. Shame on you man , surely you’re better than this?
They have black plastic boxes in the UK too though? What a weird post. Also, your grammar is stressing me out, ‘tall tail’ is unforgivable.
In what universe is that the best dial ?
This one?
In the world of capitalism
As I’ve always said if you want to see precious metal on a watch then look at the open case back on most Zero West models. Well done ZW. 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Go on! Absolutely lovely watch. Where else can you get a piece of aviation history on wrist. Thanks for the great review.
Interesting watch brand but for my money I prefer the Seiko Flight master as an aviation type watch!
Graham and Andrew and great guys, so passionate about making their pieces the very best they can be
Your videos are the best.keep i up
The colors are great!
Nah, way too much money. Maybe they are worth it but at those prices watch enthusiasts attention is elsewhere and rightly so.
Am I in the right comments section? Your all talking about that overpriced eyesore that MWC just reviewed yeah? This is a tacky piece of crap that MWC had to build the courage to put on the screen a full 5 minutes after the vid started. They must pay really well.
Idiot
I really do like Zero West and think that’s a great one to sponsor you and there’s nothing wrong with having a good sponsor you actually believe in!
I like the dial. The lugs should have been all brushed. Also, not that the crown is too big, but it sticks out too much. Awesome looking watch though.
Don't know what's going on with the comments.
I think the watches are beautiful. The crown, case and dial make them great watch pieces.
Great story.
Great watch.
🇺🇸 🇬🇧
Even on July 4th….
we still love ya !
Absolutely stunning timepiece! If I had that sort of money to spend on a watch I would DEFINITELY have one of these. Totally agree with everything said buddy! 😉👌
Wow what an absolute bargain for under 4k pounds 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂
A great watch Rus, hope to see you at the next meet down at ZW
Another entertaining presentation, thanks - Not a bad design, I quite like an easy to grip crown. Overall design seems like an Alpinist wanabee. Lume looked good. Might be cool in all your vids to see set an image of the lume after a particular length of time and we can make a judgement from watch to watch. Price, well other comments have got that covered 😂 Cheers
Good looking watch. Just visited the Zero West website. The DB-1 LANCASTER is a super cool watch. Love the story behind it.
BOOOO, your trolling us at this point with the shilling .... this is a basic dial in 2024 and you know it .
This dial is made from a piece of brass, it’s manufactured in Switzerland.
I don’t feel this company is a good fit for you.🤔
Awesome
Speaking of lil bit of field watch, when do we get our Mad Hackers?
Can i get your thoughts on Nomadic watches Ltd made in Belfast please especially the Nomadic marai 401 dive watch. Cheers
It’s a great watch .
QUICK 🗣 SPEC 🗣 CHECK 🗣 - that's my fav.
I really like your content, but the price seems very steep. Also, I’m not someone who has to have the most expensive movement, as long as it works and it‘s decently accurate. But if im spending that kind of money, i‘d rather have something better than a SW200… I’m not accusing you of getting paid for this review, i really think you genuinely like this watch, but your review didn’t at all convey why one should
Buy this watch instead of something like a nomos or a sinn who seem to be a much better value. Maybe you‘re just that much richer than me. I have 1000€ watches, but that‘s a huge pile of money for me. I do have grail watches I would spend 2-3000€ on, but your review does a poor job explaining why one should spend that much money on this watch.
For that amount of money I would at least expect a chronometer sw300.
The only thing you get with a 300 is the fact it’s thinner ? These cases don’t need a thin movement my friend !
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR that is true but my point is that by having that movement it would put it in the company of higher priced watches like monta, rather than watches under 1k.
