That bidirectional charger is kick ass 🤤🤤 can’t wait to get it
The DC coupled EV charger is a game changer. I'm so pumped to try one out.
I’m right there with you, my plan is to buy a used EV and use it as a backup battery and only drive if needed in a pinch!
No sign of the DC charger on the market. Will they launch it again at all the 2024 events, complete with the 'coming soon' note?
I can't believe they went with a Google Graveyard candidate.
Why?
Will the DC Charger work only with the current Home Hub inverter or also with the (also current) Home Wave inverter?
Probably only the Home Hub inverter. The Home Wave inverters don't have the extra DC ports for batteries and stuff like that.
@@WestFortJacoby Home Wave inverters 100% work with the 10kW Home Battery.
Are these features in the current home hub inverter or is this a hardware update? If it is a hardware update, does it have a release date?
This is from my understanding existing in current Home Hub units and Energy Hub units.
Will this new system support the addition of a generator?
I do not know at this time.
The backup interface has generator lugs, but last I heard the software wasn't ready yet.
@@WestFortJacobyThanks for the updated info.
This is not enough of an edge to accept a single point-of-failure solar array. The efficiency in the real world comes from managing consumption and selling back to the utility at prime-time rates. Slogans can only go so far.IMO.
With EV chargers switching over to DC, Tesla new powerwall is DC compatible also so it seems a lot more is trending towards DC compatible to avoid conversions. I have bought AC Enphase in the past but it’s something to obviously consider.
Tesla is so large that they're slow moving in solar equipment. I've been screaming for years for Tesla to come up with a home DC charger. Tesla can also come up with a DC powered home because the grid laws are so convoluted which makes solar installation absurdly slow and expensive
There is no SolarEdge advantage.
Well there is an advantage to a DC coupled solution especially with batteries and electric vehicles.
