Look for the one in 2012 -- amazing song and dancing in that one, too. I have the same reaction. It genuinely makes me happy. Thank you to Matt and everyone who took part. I've shared this video with so many people in similar situations to myself just to see them smile.
So much the same. Matt has aged and so have I. I remember watching this in the apartment I shared with my brother a long time ago. It still makes me cry at the sheer beauty and vitality of it.
This video stopped me from taking my own life before. I don't recall exactly what was happening other than I recieved an email from a website saying someone had responded to my post. They had told me suicide was a temporary solution and that so many people would be upset and blame themselves. They said I deserved to be happier and linked this video. I don't know if it was the fact someone cared or the fact that all of these people looked happy. People with much sadder lives. All I can really remember is I was crying and laughing. I talked to my mom about getting help and went into therapy. I just feel the need to share how important this video is to me and what it means.

Anyone else watching in 2022? These are the types of unifying videos we need when the world seems to be in such a dire state. Edit: And for those still watching in 2023 Edit: And for those still watching in 2024
I'm an "old man" and still I cry every time I watch this video. I love to pick out individual dancers from each location - as far as possible given the brevity of each scene. My absolute most favorite has to be the guy in Paris - beard, perhaps corn-row hair, at 3:45. I'd love to meet that dude. :)
This video is beautiful because it brings home the fact that all of us - all humans - are essentially the same deep down. Stripped of surface differences like race, sexuality, religion, nationality, class - all petty differences that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things - we're all fundamentally the same with the same desires and needs. To be safe, to have access to sustenance and shelter, to be appreciated and to be loved and respected and to live our lives on this big rock floating ceaselessly around a big star that we call the Sun without fear of violence or discrimination. That's why this video touches so many people; subconsciously, deep down, everyone recognises these things and the beauty inherent in them; the beauty and wonder of life itself.
No matter how many times I watch this, still goose bumps and tears. My favorite UA-cam video. If this doesn't do something to you, you're not human or, at least, not alive.
I'm from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 and i was drawn to this video, see this video put a huge smile on my face, especially seeing all these people being so happy. I was only a child back in 2008 so it makes me wonder where all these individuals are, but it warms my heart that it is moments like this that really unites people. ❤️💓😊☺️
Matt stated his favorite moment in the entire video was 2:33. He took the time to learn something new. A new dance. "The colors, Choreography, it was one of those moments where everything came together perfectly. You can't even tell it was 110 degrees and i was melting into a puddle." One of the greatest videos ever uploaded to UA-cam.
13 years on, and this still makes me smile with joy. I was often in a very dark place mentally when I was younger and watching this video always gave me that bit of strength to keep going. A timeless youtube classic and something that filled me with so much love and hope even in my darkest emotional times...
I remember when I first came across this video. I had nothing and the video had everything I wanted: humanity, community, bonds, unions, colors, smiling will, simplicity, echo, life. I still am grateful I saw it.
15 years later and this is still one of my fav videos of all time this video was magic when it came out still holds up as something special so glad. I saw this before it ever blew up and many years later man I feel old watching this in 2023.
i watch this whenever i need to be reminded of joy, possibilities, and ability to come together (so i watch it A LOT!) thank you, Matt and thank you camera man!
it's 2016 and from time to time when I'm sad or angry or anything I come to UA-cam and watch this video again. 8 years after its release it still warms my heart and lights my mood. thank you.
For so many years, this is my go-to video when I'm down; and my go-to video when I'm up .... and everything in between. It's been shown to countless classes when Happiness is the topic ... and I've had more than one lot of students, try dancing like Matt (in the classroom, I hasten to add).
I always start crying at Gurgaon when they break the rhythm. I would give him and his girlfriend Nobel peace prize. This is the simplest and the most powerful peace message ever.
This will be forever the single most fantastic video on the internet! I cry like a little girl ever time I see it ... It's wonderful! I hope you and Melissa are doing fine, Matt!
I remember three years ago when my teacher showed us this video, today my teacher showed us this in class. So many memories flooded back, back before a pandemic, and a reminder that peace is one thing that everyone wants.
I remember watching this so many years ago ! almost 8 years later, it still gives me the chills. This video is one of the reasons I decided to travel and do what I do today. So powerful and meaningful in so many ways...
I'm having a hard time at the moment, and for some reason, years after discovering it, I remembered this video exists. It's like a warm shower on my soul, the world is a good place. Thank you.
The first time I saw this video 13 years ago it made me feel sooo happy 😊 tears where dropping from my eyes of happiness that I can’t describe, truly just love ❤️. When I’m down I come back to this!! It’s awesome that others feel it too !
To this day, this remains my favorite UA-cam video of all time. The music, the unifying message, the pictures, it’s just perfection. Different cultures should be celebrated and respected. Deep down, most people are good, want freedom & happiness. Appreciate the planet we have. ❤
And today, July 28, 2023, I am so much older and wearing a smile just as wide as so long ago when I first saw this! In today's world we need this; what pure joy!

I watched this video and the first one you did when you first uploaded them back in 2006 and 2008. I have not watched them since. But today at work i was somehow reminded of them. Just a tought a memory popped into my head of these videos and thank God it did because these videos are the most beautiful videos on UA-cam. Never ever, EVER delete them... Please Love from Norway❤
I find this video again after more than 10 years since I watched it for the first time. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 😭😭 I was cryiny while watching it again, especially in this harsh time of COVID-19... For dancing like this again, let's promise to each other to stay healthy! Hope to see you soon! #prayfromTaiwan #praytothewholeworld
Literally every time I watch this video, I am reduced to tears; something about this soulful music juxtaposed with the sight of humans just being silly and enjoying themselves across this beautiful planet of ours is so damn powerful. This is how I want the Universe to remember us; these are our best selves.
I remember way back in 2008 being a kid and going through some difficult shit when my Therapist showed me the first Where the Hell is Matt? video. 14 years later and I still turn these on anytime I need a pick me up.

No matter how many times I read this, still goose bumps and tears. If this doesn't do something to you, you're not human or, at least, not alive
There's some good in this world, Mr Frodo! And it's worth fighting for!
LOL, the video should include that shot of the dancing hobbits at the Party, with Matt inserted in place of Gandalf!
Where is Matt now 2023? Where the hell is he? I still enjoy this!
Was looking through my oldest liked videos on UA-cam and rediscovered this masterpiece. The world needs more of this again
He also stated that “The world is people. It’d now what we build, it’s us.”
Getting to meet him (twice!) was an absolute treat!
13 years on, and this still makes me smile with joy. I was often in a very dark place mentally when I was younger and watching this video always gave me that bit of strength to keep going. A timeless youtube classic and something that filled me with so much love and hope even in my darkest emotional times...
You described me.
This guy has so many frequent flyer miles that he practically owns every airline on the world now

I remember when I first came across this video. I had nothing and the video had everything I wanted: humanity, community, bonds, unions, colors, smiling will, simplicity, echo, life.
I still am grateful I saw it.
I had watched this video in 2008 and I am still watching it in 2023 . It unifies the world when there is so much unhappiness around . Thanks Matt .
I saw this when it first came out, and rewatch it every couple of years.
15 years later and this is still one of my fav videos of all time this video was magic when it came out still holds up as something special so glad. I saw this before it ever blew up and many years later man I feel old watching this in 2023.

it's 2016 and from time to time when I'm sad or angry or anything I come to UA-cam and watch this video again.
This was a video from my childhood. Warching it again feels so nostalgic!
I remember watching this when I was young like 7 8 somewhere around there maybe younger

Yeah was in like year 5 during school assembly lol
I always start crying at Gurgaon when they break the rhythm. I would give him and his girlfriend Nobel peace prize. This is the simplest and the most powerful peace message ever.
This will be forever the single most fantastic video on the internet! I cry like a little girl ever time I see it ... It's wonderful!
I hope you and Melissa are doing fine, Matt!
Never, Ever get tired of watching this ... it just makes me happy!
I remember three years ago when my teacher showed us this video, today my teacher showed us this in class. So many memories flooded back, back before a pandemic, and a reminder that peace is one thing that everyone wants.
It's been years and these videos still cheer me up. I hope Matt makes more in the future.
I'm watching this almost a decade later and it's still one of my favorite videos of all time.
watched it in 2009, watching it in 2021, eternal classic
Has it really been 8 years since this was released? Still puts a smile on my face. :)

This video is one of the reasons I decided to travel and do what I do today. So powerful and meaningful in so many ways...
I'm having a hard time at the moment, and for some reason, years after discovering it, I remembered this video exists. It's like a warm shower on my soul, the world is a good place. Thank you.
2023... still with tears of joy watching this....❤
Here I am at the end of 2023.. here to watch this video again.. for some reason I come back every year to watch this
makes me cry seeing people all around the world come together enjoying the dance
Still cry every time I watch this video. We're all more alike than we are different.
Matt's new video in 2023 brought me back here, a trip I will never forget!
So many years ago seeing this and it still makes me cry.
And today, July 28, 2023, I am so much older and wearing a smile just as wide as so long ago when I first saw this! In today's world we need this; what pure joy!
When I need to be reminded of the overall goodness in humanity, I come back here, to Matt's video. I needed that recently. Thank you Matt.
Still here. Still bringing a smile to my face every time.

Just a tought a memory popped into my head of these videos and thank God it did because these videos are the most beautiful videos on UA-cam. Never ever, EVER delete them... Please

10年前に見て号泣したのを覚えています。そして今も泣いています。最高の動画です。
Rewatching it after so many years because it suddenly came to my mind. I'm glad the video is still here and still am loving it!
Wish I had the opportunity to travel the world and dance :(
One day you will..
I think...
Then why not just do it?
@@blackham7 Because people don't have infinite money, Becca you hoe.
@@madelinebitts2766 probably one of the funniest responses to a comment I've seen on UA-cam.
Matt, I always cry when I watch this video. The music and dancing so deeply touches me, and encourages me. Thank you!
I hate dancing
This was the first UA-cam video I ever saw... time really flies
Literally every time I watch this video, I am reduced to tears; something about this soulful music juxtaposed with the sight of humans just being silly and enjoying themselves across this beautiful planet of ours is so damn powerful. This is how I want the Universe to remember us; these are our best selves.
Anyone else watching 15 years later? This was one of the first vods to inspire me to travel :)
I remember way back in 2008 being a kid and going through some difficult shit when my Therapist showed me the first Where the Hell is Matt? video. 14 years later and I still turn these on anytime I need a pick me up.
back again to rewatch this masterpeace of beauty that gives you hope, hapiness and a Smile always. in a year with so many conflicts in the world and geopolitical issues.....we need this more than ever. love to all.
One of my all-time favorite UA-cam videos. Who‘s still watching in 2022?
The world needs more of this, positive upliftment :) Great to see & most commendable. Peace.
