Going theough the book example 5n audio does not seem to match with the notation first bar. Is this something that anyone else had noted or is it just me.

Hey David, which books would you recommend for neo soul besides this. I am not a huge fan of this book because I don’t have the foundation to make the examples my own. Would you start with chord tone soloing or maybe chord melody? I have a couple books about all sorts of styles in Jazz but really need to start with one.

If I'm honest, I don't actually have a lot of guitar books, so I'm not sure!
Chord tone soloing is definitely a good start though, and I've made a video on it so check it out!

Hmm I'd say it's suitable for maybe someone who's been playing for 2-3 years!
I’m finding the 3rd chapter very difficult...can I skip it and move to the 4th and then come back to 3rd
Yeah absolutely, it's quite good, you can go back and forth througout the book

Does it teach you scales and chords and then gives examples of licks? Or is it for experienced players who already know scales/chords.
There is a little bit of teaching scales and chords at the beginning but it mostly assumes you know the theory for most of the book

Can u explain your what you mean by tedious. I thinking of getting the book but your comment made me think twice. Im fed up of dodgy tabs.
