@@tash5540 this is all wrong. This video is a completely different style than all the guys you listed. While I love them all, technicality doesn't make a great player. A lot of the greats learned themselves and didn't know ahit about music theory, they just played what moved them. Who says the guy you responded to is even moved by their music anyway? If he wants to learn what's in this video, all the power to him.

The term neo soul has been around since the 90s. Artists like D'Angelo, Jill Scott, and Eryka Badu were known as neo soul artists.

Kerry 2 Smooth and Juno the Artist are two sources I like for this style. Melanie Faye too but she doesn't teach as much.

Could also be seen as an extension of triphop/ambient music and soul/r&b/gospel.
