i totally agree! I've been having trouble with my blade rusting because the rust has all been captured in my old hard guards. It was unfortunate that I didn't realize that was the problem for a while though.. 😂
I've used both as well (trad hard guard and the E-guards). I think the lack of metal pieces that could rust is definitely a plus for the E-guards. The small crevices of my old hard guard sometimes retain water and one of the screws has developed rust. Could be my negligence (got it when I just started) but I like the hassle free nature of the E-guard. Also, we have these free outdoor rinks and usually I would put my guards on the board and the rubber E-guard is much more durable in case anyone knocks them over + less noise. That being said, they are rather pricey. I got mine at a discounted rate because of a loyalty card (20 euros instead of 45)
I use rockerz skate guards since they are very customizable and cool looking but I completely agree with you and what you are saying. Do you have any opinions on rockerz skate gaurds
I honestly was going to purchase a pair before I got the edea ones! The only reason I didn't is because of the metal spring in the middle. I'm not a big fan of the noise it makes
I love my Edea guards because they don’t move under my blade as I walk. However they do require a lot of strength to use so they aren’t a great option for most of the kids.
I have e guards for my jackson entre with the ultima legacy 7 blade and they work just fine. Just make sure you know the length of your blade for sizing - my blade is 8" 3/4 and size medium is perfect.
