I make the cylinder hollow and then put the spawn point in it. The only problem is, there is water inside the cylinder even though it is closed. How do I prevent this? Thanks in advance! Zachary
you can create water by placing many water blocks around the tube that touch it so that there is water everywhere or u can add fog or sth to your map and make a water block above the tube so that it looks like the water surface
Can you please make a tutorial on how to make a tunnel inside a building? Also, I would like to say thank you for making these tutorials and your normal videos, you are one of my biggest inspirations for mapping. Keep up the good work!
3kliksphilip I meant making the walls of the tunnel circular. I have it set up where there is the pathway in the building but I have no idea how I can make it circular
a time when the vertex tool is great, would be when you are making a tunnel with an arch in it (blocks around the arch, on top and on the sides) so you don't have to waste a lot of time making blocks and cutting them into perfect size
Yes, that's what is expected unless you make water unrealistic by making several different locations of water and blocks of air surrounding the hollow tubes, so the only way to make a map like that would be to have a nice big mess :)
You forgot to mention to use bullet immune brushes on the stairs so they are both smooth to walk up but explosive damage is accurate and doesnt get blocked by the stairs
obviously this video is super old now, but I just wanted to say, when you make stairs make sure to put a player clip over the steps so you're not bouncing around every time you go up or down them

You might want to convert the bottom solid part of the stairs to func_detail also. As it doesn't obscure too much of geometry but increases compile time.
@3kliksphilip ok. 12x8 looks better for more realistic stairs, however it is up to the mappers choice to choose stair dimensions for their environment such as Aztec pyramid stairs.

Hammer is glitchy on my laptop. Like when I move the cursor from one window to another, the whole viewport starts flickering. It's impossible to do more precise things because of this.
