@My Disappointed boner Because at one point in time the media tried to link Counter strike to School shootings(At least in germany). So some people might think "He's planning a mass shooting." While in reality, people do it because it is a place you are familar with that is big and intricate. So schools were probably many peoples first map as it is a learning experience..

I'm glad philip has started to do paid promotions. He's talked about feeling dirty when taking the deals but he really deserves to be able to make a living.
Well, it is in regards to Morally questionable stuff. He already did sponsored with the Pulse Servers and that. Just a matter of how it holds up to his morals.

Yeah, he did. He says he'll only take deals on things he really believes in, even if it'll make his life more difficult. Guess this isn't an example of a shady deal but still good to see him take promotions.
I thought he was purposefully going a bit overboard with the product placement/details to be funny. I doubt they said in the contract "Make sure that if you leave the computer, you mention that you had to tear yourself away and reassure the audience that you would be back shortly"
Plus, he made an interesting and useful video that just happened to have little side comments about the computer. I'm glad he didn't spend forever showing benchmarks or talking about the components. If you care about that, I'm sure there's plenty of places to see it. All he has to do is let you know the thing exists and to pique your interest.
It was a promotion and then a joke about the promotion with a basis of truth. Absolutely nothing wrong or intrusive about it.

@@Omega-mr1jg uhhhh decent camera, make sure your lighting is even across the whole surface, and if your camera supports it, take an image in a square aspect ratio. Makes editing them a helluva lot easiser

The source Engine is already Beautiful, titanfall was made on it and that game looked very nice.
I wish Titanfall wasn't tied to EA, I think that game could have been a much bigger hit if the devs were independent

Titanfall uses a HEAVILY modified Source Engine build that is heavily different to anything you can develop with right now.

I remember when I had to code live reflections from scratch in college for my final project. God damn that was so fucking hard and it didn't even turn out that nice. Props to these developers for making their reflections actually map to the reflective objects properly.
Couple of nice bits, definitely will try and use these for my gmod map, atleast what will work for that older source/hammer editor.

Honestly, shiny objects/textures should be used very sparsely. They can take a lot of focus away from what is important, and also look ugly as shit if overused. So I guess what I want you to take away from this, is...

I loved it. You actually covered something i've beem having problems exploring the first ut engine. Although old i managed to learn how to "fake" radiosity and refracted light but i never got why a room would be diferent once properly textured. Now I have been "enlightened" (pun intended)
