    Great advice on the different parts, hopefully it'll help some to save a ton of both money and product.

    You can get metering orfice from titan to turn flat tip into fine finish tip

    I been using titan rx pro i have 2 of them they are good guns. I use the yellow gun filters for spraying interior and for exterior i usally take the filters out. I do really like the contractor gun by graco the Titan RX pro is a little cheaper and i like it . I would still say my favorite gun is the Graco contractor series but the rx pro is a close second. Never even seen the silver series on the shelf

    I like reversing tips for one reason, clearing a clog. No filters, just strain the paint. Reversing tips blow that stuff out. 100 gallons, 2 seconds to clear a clog. Flat tips are more precise, but a lot more trouble to clear. They have benefits, but basic house painting, I dont use one. Also, a 3 or 6 foot wand and swivel attachment, always. I've sprayed a lot of paint, lol.

    Yea I don’t clean the cone filter every 5-10 gallons, I’ll clean it if it gets clog or when I’m done spraying and I clean my gun housing filter at the same time.

      depends too on your line and rig filters. mine has no filters. but I still would clean it at about10 gallons.

    Love the tailgate videos man . That’s your trademark.., serious question . You got me on using flat tips . At first I didn’t like them I had to crank the pressure up so darn high just to get rid of the tails and was blowing through gallons . Until I seen your tip on shooting water through a new tip ….. my question is about these flat tips I seen some that come individually packaged and that are way more expensive then the ones thrown in a jar and sold they are in the same case at the supply store . And is their a brand you prefer ? I seen tri tech flat tips claims to last the longest what do you think .

    I've been using flat tips ever since I watched your videos a few years ago, today I had an issue where my spray pattern was fingering, how do I fix this?

    • @mikethepainter
      @mikethepainter  8 місяців тому +1

      turn up the pressure for a minute or 2 then back down. Or tap it on the concrete it probably had something in the tip.

    What tip size do you use?

    You can use a silver plus gun using an inline filter that uses the cone filter. The tip adapter with the cone housing is a little bit bulky in comparison. Hosco has the best inline filters IMO. OSHA is full of 💩. HVLP is wayyyy better for fine finishing. There’s no comparison it blows airless out of the water. And yes HVLP can do high solids water base coatings easily with the right setup. You can shoot Renner or any other 2k polys through it no problem. Paint is getting so damn expensive now save as much as you can. I can’t afford to work with an airless anymore I don’t paint exteriors. I do millwork, doors and cabinets and hvlp kicks airless ass. When I was spraying airless I got 40% transfer efficiency at best with hvlp I get 75% I am saving literally half the paint per job now that I can use for the next.

      OH yea for sure millwork HVLP is Key....

      @@mikethepainter you don’t use an airless on a car just like I don’t use an airless on cabinets, just my preference.

      @@bingobunga8995 oh for sure. I used to do cabinets with lacquer and an airless. 2 11 tip but I dont do them anymore because the lacquer sucks so bad it is not worth it. too hard to fix flaws. doors and such too interior office ones done at the shop then installed. but it is cheaper to buy them finished from china.

    • @bingobunga8995
      @bingobunga8995 8 місяців тому

      @@mikethepainter not every customer or general contractor is using Chinese made cabinets. In fact my area doesn’t use that garbage at all. I don’t use lacquer as a topcoat at all. Water based has come a long way and can be touched up very easily. The industry has changed quite a bit from when you were doing it. I’m not involved with new construction, only remodels.

    Reversa tips made painters lazy. Learned to spray with flat. Except for the fine finish tips. Reversa tips expensive

      really doesnt take any more time either. I Didnt plug up at all yesterday but my gun had some issues. Nothing to do with tips. or tip plug ups. Still need to clean that filter. I just do it when I move the rig. I was only running 50ft With 100 you usually dont need to move. Only on a really big house over 3000sf. typically. just didnt want to have that extra Q in the line.
