Thank you so much for explaining this technique to me. I didn't think I was naturally dense but couldn't seem to get it right. You explained it so I not only understand how to do it but I will remember it going forward. You rock! 🤟
UHGGG IM SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU. I have gone through SO. MANY. videos trying to find someone who can explain to a beginner beginner. I look forward to learning more through your other videos ❤🎉
The wall hanging behind you in this video is beautiful. I’d like to understand enough about measuring the strings while using the various knots to complete a wall hanging too one day.
Thank you so much! It’s been kinda embarrassing that macrame in general comes pretty easy to me but for some weird, super frustrating reason I just could not figure out this ONE KNOT, I understood it conceptually and knew it was pretty dang simple, it just wasn’t quite clicking in my brain, and I could not seem to find a tutorial anywhere for the longest time that would explain it in a way that made complete sense! Silly as it sounds, it kinda got to me and had me feeling shitty and discouraged as an artist all together. Thank you for taking the time to help folx like me just starting to learn this craft and putting in the care and effort to be a super effective teacher! It’s so easy to take it for granted in this day and age but like, for real tho, It really is a beautiful gift you are offering the world 💎✨I hope you are reminded of that at least daily:)
I can totally relate to what you’re saying!!! Pretty much everything other knot clicked right away and made sense but this one was confusing for the longest time!!! I was discouraged too but it doesn’t reflect on your ability as an artist, I’m sure you’re still great! If anything it shows you’re a true artist because you’re willing to work at your skill and it can (sometimes) take lots of practice. Keep it up! 🥳
Thank you SO MUCH for taking this so slowly. This is the only video I've been able to understand. Edit: I really wish you started as slowly coming from the other direction.
Oh yeah!!! It’s been over 45 yrs since I gave fine macrame and I ha e just begun to macrame again. Could not remember how to do this. WTched s hunch if tutorials and hit a headache, but your explanation worked great for me!!
Thank you I have been searching every video and everyone goes too fast it was getting very frustrating !!! I watched yours and boom I got it! Very helpful video again thank you 😊
I made a mistake with my length of cord for a project and hence want to abandon it but would like to keep the half hitch knots (quite a lot of them) If I cut off the remaining cords will the pattern not stay secured and unravel?
Doing it twice locks the knot in place. You don't have to do it, but if you don't the space between them may be too far apart, the gap may be too wide, if that makes sense.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really struggled getting my head around this knot - your video was so helpful I can do it now :)

What is the difference between DOUBLE HALF HITCH KNOT and DIAGONAL CLOVE HITCH KNOT
Thank you, Susanne. Very good video.

Thank you so much!
Thank you kindly finally i get it
I'm so glad it helped you Linda!
Isn’t the cord your holding called the FILLER CORD? and the ones your ‘working with’ are the working cords.
I’m so confused. Isn’t twice a double half hitch?
You're quite correct go two times and it's a double half hitch. A single half hitch is half of a double half hitch. She's doing double half hitches.
I made a mistake with my length of cord for a project and hence want to abandon it but would like to keep the half hitch knots (quite a lot of them) If I cut off the remaining cords will the pattern not stay secured and unravel?
Everything above the half hitch knots should stay in place. I understand wanting to keep them, they take a lot of time!
My instuctions say nothing about having to do each one twice. Is this true in every piece?
Doing it twice locks the knot in place. You don't have to do it, but if you don't the space between them may be too far apart, the gap may be too wide, if that makes sense.
