I just looked through several videos searching for basic beginner macrame knots and this is the ONLY one that actually explains every step clearly from the beginning whilst defining and demonstrating every knot THANK YOU!!!
I’m saving this as a favorite to use when I get my supplies. I love that the talking is limited to teaching. She doesn’t feel the need to talk incessantly about herself, but gets straight to teaching.
Yours is the first time I haven’t either fast forwarded or mute the video. Your voice is very soothing and you don’t over explain your steps. Thank you for this.
Thought I’d pass on a little trick I’ve learned. I have been tying paracord for a little over a year but have been asked to do a few macrame plant hangers. I learned that when doing spirals, I’ve purchased some “ Dog Leash clasps “. The ones that swivel. That way when your spiral begins to take shape, instead of it getting awkward to tie...or so that you aren’t trying to maneuver around it, it simply spins and you don’t have to move or work around it. A simple trick. Of course you need to us a hook so that it hangs as you tie.
@@susanwright351 I think you would attach the bottom of the clasp to a ring or run a small dowel through that loop and then on the clip end you would attach your macrame starting loop
You cover everything in exactly all the ways I need to hear it/see it. So clear and precise. Even your timing on everything is perfect. Thank you! You’re a wonderful teacher!
What a fantastic tutorial!!! So perfect for impatient people like me 😅 You just jump right into the good stuff, but keep a nice slow and steady pace while teaching the knots so beginners can easily keep up and pause as needed! Also great that you first show an example of the knot you're going to demonstrate, and then you repeat each of the knots several times for practice. This video is a perfect example of how to properly teach a skill. I've been wanting to learn some more fiber crafts because crochet unfortunately hurts my wrists a lot, so it's hard for me to do it even though I love it. I'm hoping things like macrame and weaving will help me feel productive while I try to relearn better crochet technique. I look forward to learning more from your channel! Thanks 😄
Thank you for your very instructional video. I did macrame as a young girl in the 70’s, but had forgotten how to do it. Your instructions were very precise and clear. Now, m going to give it a try again! Thanks for sharing!
Right? I haven't really watched enough to be able to claim any knowledge of whether this is the "best" or not, but I can decidedly say that I much prefer it to the last one I watched, and I expect I'll watch more from this channel! Thanks, Majestic Macrame!
It's so hard to find a macrame tutorial for left handers, but this one works really well with a couple of modifications. First, I added a browser extension called YT Mirror that allows me to flip the video on the vertical axis. Then I still had trouble because the narrator refers to "left" and "right" a lot, which still made it confusing. However, with the sound turned off I could follow along easily because the narrator does such a good job of showing what she's doing. Thank you so much! After many struggles, I feel like I can finally do this!
I know I've commented previously, but it's gone! I wanted you to know that I've NEVER done macrame except to make one feather (if that's macrame,) and your instructions allowed me to learn AND understand every step and every knot! I'm amazed and your work is absolutely STUNNING and superb... ❤️❤️❤️
I love how slow this is it helps me understand, in most videos I see it’s just people going fast and I never understand what’s going on so this video really helps!
Thank you for a fab tutorial. I’ve wanted to give this a go for a while, but other beginner tutorials are always so fast, or speeded up, and I get fed up of pausing the videos! Yours is just right and I’m going to have a go 🙌🏻
Tracy Wade, I agree and she took her time to fully explain what and how. Her hands were not in the way because she wasn't too close. I Loved it. Subscribed.
I used a white metal tension rod in this tutorial. Sometimes I use a Dowel Stick which I hang on two hooks (and I hang the hooks either on a tension rod or a clothes rack)
Ummm wow… I didn’t realize I needed this in my life. Voice is perfect and your method of teaching and instructing is great! I am Easily able to follow along and now I plan on working with 550 cord to see if these types or things will work for that but before coming here I had no idea what macrame even was. Thank you for the very well delivered instructions! Keep it up!👍🏽
This is my first time watching you. You have made theses knots so easy to understand.! My Favorite is the 3rd one combining the square knots. I like that you showed us how to do the opposite directions as well . You chose some very beautiful knots to teach us how to tie. Thank You For Sharing And Your Time!
After minutes of the macrame cords I ordered for the very first time has arrived I was searching on UA-cam on how to tie basic knots and this is where I landed thanks ❤
PERFECT! PERFECT! PERFECT VIDEO!!! I just learned so much and have me excited to finally feel like I can do this and get started. Thank you a million times over!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to watch your other videos now. Cheers
Thank you for this tutorial! I got a Macrame kit, a gift for Christmas (2021) and I love it! I've done the 1st 3 macrame knots you showed and added beads for extra colour! I'm so proud of myself lol :D
Love these! Thanks for such an easy tutorial. I remember making the last pattern in middle school with embroidery floss to make friendship bracelets. We’d do about 10 knots to the left then 10 to the right and alternate. Making the spiral a bit longer and we’d use two different color floss.
Excellent tutorial! Found the exact knot I was searching for to use on simple pendant necklaces just to give a bit of accent and flair. THANK YOU so much and would love to see more of your work using leather and hemp cord as well.
I truly thank you for this video, it was very helpful. I just started learning macrame and needed basic knowledge in learning the different knots, and you couldn’t be clearer, you took the time to patiently teach each step. 👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰
Thank you for a well good Tutorial I am glad I watched yours first I found you in Pinterest & came to UA-cam to watch your video's . Years ago I made one of the bigest hanging basket for big pots the lady at the store told me if I made this pot I could make anything in Macrame . She showed me how to get started it wasn't a class she owned the store I think I had to go back a couple of times when I got stuck but I made it . Then I made hanging tables with a pot holder in the top they was beautiful . I was never taught what the knots or cords was called & that was many years ago but watching you & your video's I believe I will be able to start making things again . Thank you for taking the time to explain how to get started . I will be watching your video's 💯❤
Thank you so much for this! I was trying to figure out the double knot and kept messing it up. I can see clearly that I was overthinking it! I appreciate you!
I have never done macrame but by watching beautiful things of macrame and by your video i would love to learn macrame soon by following your step by step instructions love this ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, I have been trying to make a fly curtain, so that I can leave my back door open for my old dog who can't get in or out of the dog flap. Your tutorial is superb for this old fella.
Great tutorial easy to follow thank you , I’ve tried on many occasions but your video and voice over really is the best I’ve seen and I’ve actually achieved a bracelet many thanks now I can show my grandchildren ❤
I just practiced the first one and I got it done in 30mins obviously still need practice to make it nice but totally proud of myself. Thank you for the help “over the middle under the right. Over the middle under the left”
Thank you so much for your video! You explain very simple and clear. I have no experience with macrame. This is my first exposure, and I am very grateful to have seen your video. Thank you so much for sharing.
THANK YOU!!! I've just gotten into micro macrame, and in EVERY video where they give a tutorial, no one mentions the type of knots they're using or even show how to tie it. Drives me nuts! **For jewelry, just thought I'd add that lol
Thank you so much Majestic macromae! Your technique is so clear and easy to follow along! is very direct and clearly indicated and right to the point you don't spend a lot of time talking about irrelevant things and your whole life story Before you get started either LOL! Sure it's nice once in a while but when you're trying to get down to the point I don't want to have to see a video for 25 minutes to 45 Minutes just to get to the point and get started LOL. They've got an over hour-long video just showing you how to do a design that should be fairly simple! It's very informative and using the thick white cord has definitely made a big difference and you don't have your hands going fast & in the way... 5:27 Because it trips up your viewers when you work with dark colors with a dark background with not very great lighting there's people who even have good lighting but their hands are in the way and they don't tell you the way you don't end your constantly having to go back and try to see what you're missing because it's not turning yell the way it should I'm good at following directions so you can only imagine how frustrating it is for somebody when they're trying to do something that seems so simple but They're not clearly indicating how things should be. You do it step for step in the most easiest way and you're not going too fast it's hard to follow. You could teach children easily how to do this you make it look so easy so I'm gonna have other styles now for this video just to see how good I can make my pieces look now certain ones I already knew like the Cobra stitch and the Twisted double knots one I forget what you call it but i always call it the twisted double helix because the way that it looks it looks just like ADN a strand LOL🧬
I really like this video. Thank you very much. I like how each one you were making, you did it slow and did more than just a couple knots on each hanger. You really do make this look pretty easy. Once again great video!
Saving this to my crafts Playlist. I want to make some macrame plant hangers for my friends. Thank you for the best explanation. Now time to get some cord to practice on! 🙏☺️
Thanks for all your time in taking to explain how to do the knots...I would like to follow you on UA-cam...your demonstrations were excellent ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤great job👍
Thank you for this lesson. I am attempting to make an attachment for my cochlear implant processor which attaches to my head by magnet, rather than one similar to an over-the-ear hearing aid. I want something decorative to catch it, if it gets knocked off, and I thought I'd try a delicate sized macrame braid.
Lots of ❤️...this is like the tenth video I watched for spiral knot...n i understood nit from your video!! Nobody tells the diff between half sq knots and sq knots
i had made a bracelet using the first knot method for my girlfriend and she liked it since she loves gifts which are not bought but made by hands... so thank you (bdw i used multi color woollen lace and added me and my girl name with heart btw names using those alphabet bids in those knot ) i never thought it would turn this great so thank you... also i am making a hammok using the knot method after DNA spiral once. it's half way done but i am guessing it's turing great too but too much of work. but i guess it's worth it.
Ive been thinking of doing some macrame. I did as a young teen about 40 years ago, i see it making a cone back so tjought id give ut a try. Im nervous, your video was perfect!! Greatly done, im going for it!!🤞🤞 thank you for making it look easy.
I've been wanting to start, but was a lil frightening cause I didn't even know how to start. Your video is by far the best to explain step by step!! Just subscribed🎉
Glad you found it useful, thank you. I really, really struggled with that knot at first.... but I kept trying and I finally figured it out. I'm sure you will too! 😄 It clicked for me once I realised I was losing the knots form while bringing it up
Hello Sage, just letting you know I've uploaded an in-depth tutorial on the vertical double half hitch knot. If you're still stuck with that knot, check it out and see if it helps: ua-cam.com/video/G-adrpdj_TE/v-deo.html
thank you so much for this video it help me in my time of panic. I was assigned to teach macrame to kids at a summer camp and I've never done it before, this helped SOOOO much
I love this tutorial! You made it as basic as possible and did it at a pace your audience regardless if this was their first time ever, a novice or an old pro..you will learn how!! Great job!! Thank you ...this was a refresher course for me ...I was a teenager the last time I macrame'd ...I just became a Great Nonnie or aka G-Nonnie...lol..and it all came back!! I'll be watching for new videos 😉
Great video will be watching this constantly i didn't think i could do this with Rheumatoid arthritis but i actually think it will be a great thing for me to keep my hands moving thanks and you should do this ASMR STYLE like full videos😊❤

I truly agree. She explains very well.
What a great tutorial! You’re on top of everyone else videos on this subject!

Same here, I saved it for the same purpose! I like the way she is speaking through, very professional 😊

Ah thank you for the feedback, glad to hear it 🧡
i had made a bracelet using the first knot method for my girlfriend and she liked it since she loves gifts which are not bought but made by hands... so thank you (bdw i used multi color woollen lace and added me and my girl name with heart btw names using those alphabet bids in those knot ) i never thought it would turn this great so thank you... also i am making a hammok using the knot method after DNA spiral once. it's half way done but i am guessing it's turing great too but too much of work. but i guess it's worth it.
That sounds really creative, I'm glad she liked it! I'm sure the hammock will be beautiful and definitely worth the effort :)
