  • Mastering the macrame basics is an important step in becoming a macrame artist! The the double half hitch knot, also called the clove hitch, is what allows us to make beautiful lines in our projects.
In this video, I will teach you easy steps in mastering the double half hitch knot.
NOTE: I tied a single strand cord to use as my leading rope for demonstration purposes. A lot of times you would simply use one cord that hangs down from a lark's head knot pairing.

🧵 Rope used: 5mm Braided Cotton Cord from Bobbiny.

OMG I LOVE YOU. I have PAID for macrame kits for beginners and their tutorials are HORRIFIC. You broke this down slowly with phenomenal dictation and visuals. 10/10

Omg this is really helpful! I was fighting with this macrame kit that only had pictures and I could not get the movements of this knot down at all and this solved that in like a minute

I love how you used a different color for the leading rope. I've tried this knot several times and always got it mixed up because I've never understood that the first cord is supposed to go through all the others. Thank you!

Yes!!!!! Every video I watched didn't say anything about using the same cord all the way through...that is a pretty important step, it is the foundation...

This is a wonderful tutorial. I still struggle so much! 😢. I am working on my first wall art piece. I got all the first from the left to the middle but for the life of my I can’t seem to get my mind to switch to be able to get the left to the middle. It doesn’t look right no matter what I do. 😭
