Thanks for sharing I like you style of sharing your experiences within UKs incarceration system I found it relatable and engaging much appreciated
Hello , I have just watched your channel 4 interview.
You spoke well with a great deal of authority.
Well done,
Brilliant Jack. A great insight into HMP Haverigg...
Jack really good videos and help a lot of people out. Even if they should and never need to refer to this information, it's great to watch it anyway and always be prepared no matter what. However - i feel you could have vast amount more views if you utilise the algorithms for UA-cam better. Far many more views!!
Love these videos, back in 2011 after my girlfriend being made redundant. We decided to do the stupid thing of hiding drugs in our house for somebody - and yes we got raided after about a week. Like you, it was quite out of character for us. I wasnt charged but unfortunately my girlfriend was. She was sentenced to 3 yrs. Easily the most difficult time of my life so i cant even imagine how hard it must have been for her! We got thru it, were still together, her 3 year licence is up in october and the month after were going to cancun cant wait.!
Why didn't you take the rap for her?
@@FiveElms Enitt 🤣🤣
Fascinating insights as always. I do have a question, you seem like a very intelligent and articulate dude. One I guess who just took a wrong turn once, but now you are back on the right way. Anyway, I was wondering if you thought this about yourself, and were there many prisoners there like you? Did you feel you stood out at all? as you seem very broad minded. Without knowing, I'd have thought you didn't meet too many deep thinkers in prison, but that could be completely wrong.
Ur honesty but likeable and humble nature makes me want to watch I'm not condoning prison but live learn but I've always thought mental health is very under looked yes Human Rights 😌
these are super interesting. does anyone know of anyone else doing this sort of thing but after they changed the rules in 2013?
haha your story about the strip search made me laugh :) Great video cant wait for mooooreeee
Haha, yeah, I was always joking with people inappropriately :-) It went down well because the mood was often so tense/ serious all the time. Take diamond :-)
+Jack Hill kirkham was bad for seagulls atacking wasnt it hahaha
done a few prisons, but have to say Kirkham is a fuckin holiday camp!
Hells yeah.
Hey, I'm doing a uni course in psychology and criminology and am looking at prisoner rights. Were there any major issues that you and other prisoners had with particular human rights issues, such as smoking (smokers and non-smokers sharing cells etc) or did you see others who had problems, such as the elderly with medical issues?
Any comments would be really helpful, and by the way your videos are really insightful and have changed my perspective on prison loads :) cheers
I was in a prison not that long ago and they did take every practical measure to make sure smokers and non smokers don't mix. I was a non smoker but opted to share a cell with both a smoker and non smoker (because almost everyone smokes I would be lonely in a cell on my own.
One issue was when someone pressed the buzzer it sometimes took a long time for a guard to see them and other times they were seen to in seconds.
Something I noticed was one much older inmate (80s) who had terrible hearing problems who sometimes didn't make it to meds because he wasn't able to hear the call. Another problem I noticed with him was the guards often locked him in his cell when he had a notice saying to keep his door open due to his age. All in all the guards were actually pretty good with respecting the prisoners but every now and again things did slip their mind.
I've recently been offered a job in a category C prison, do you think I should be scared or do you think it'll be ok?
Can you do a video about dental work in prison. Great channel by the way.
I am facing a custodial sentence due to the allegations (guilty until proven not guilty apparently)
Shitting myself... seems everything that is for me is irrelevant and everything apparently against me is fact!
Oh yeh, I have just gained my first toothache in 40 years... I have a split tooth that the dentist caused......
Really cannot take any more pain and stress...
The dentist used to come in every other friday and you would have to book a week in advance to see him .and it was only the most basic dental care e g tooth pulled for an absess.no crowns or fillings.
whats that sound in the background?
so how do you get put on enhanced privileges because my friend just came out and he said he was on enhanced for a bit
Hey xXkizza11Xx , it just takes time when your behaving yourself. In forest bank I think it was something like 8 - 12 weeks of being good and you got enhanced. Thanks for the question dude :)
okay mate :) what happens then if your on enhanced but your cell mate is on like standard/basic what would happen there?
Basic people wont generally have pad mates, they end up in cells by themselves or in there own area. There's no problem if your in a cell with someone standard anyway. As enhanced, you get extra visiting hours and a few extra items allowed, that's it. So the privileges don't conflict really. Hope that helps xXkizza11Xx :-)
Jack Hill ohh ok thanks :) just cos my friend had enhanced but his cell mate was standard but his cell mate had to ask permission before using his stuff while he was at work
What crimes warrant a Cat C?
what are the chances of getting a cat d to an open prison rotl homeleave from a cat c closed prison
lucy evans Depends on your crime, when your recat review is coming up (usually every 6 or 12 months) and what you have been like inside. If your in a Cat-C you are more likely to get there than a Cat-B and upwards though. So your in the best category of prison security you can be in. Hope that helps :)
I need advice on this too. A cat C prison getting cat D. Did you find any more information on this?
I was in Haverigg back in 2002.... N the food was the best I'd had in jail! Fry up and porridge at weekends! Key to ya cell...not to the billet tho.. Sounds like it's gonna reet down hill! Shame! But ye, sounds a bit gay...lol...but I loved it in the winter, seeing the black Coombe covered in snow at the top! Ain't been inside since 2008.... So must be doing something good! Lol...
what did the blacks say about a hill called coombe.
I want to know what this guy did to get in prison
Your Mum
