Years ago prisoners’ besotted girlfriends used to get off the train and ask for directions - I think they thought it was just a couple of minutes stroll down the lane. They were in for a long walk, the name is misleading because it’s actually in Bickershaw not Hindley and the bus service wasn’t very regular. Originally I think it first opened as a borstal, probably around 1950s.

I'm over 5 years off heroin and crack but now I'm drinking to much about 6 beers every night and I'm on subutex which I've been snorting. Anyway I will sort it all out. I've done about 9 years in and out of prison. Keep up the good work bro.
I done the same tour hindley July 92 ,back and forth to stoke heath till I got sentenced then castington April 93- aug 95 then haverigg to finish off!!! Did your prison number begin BK!!! If we were on the same touri between seen each other!!! I was on e wing castington the whole time I was there
Visited my mate there in 89 shithole had his trads nicked by scoucers from Warrington was a wool there init. Never seen in jail bless me I was glad to be honest
I was banged up in Hindley back in 2015. It was a juvenile person, but they all got shipped out and dispersed to other jails because of a young lad who was basically bullied to death. I was one of the 1st adults over 18 to get shipped to that jail. I was still a YO because I was 20. But it was a rough little gaff still. I was on E wing. Everyone thought they had something to prove and was always trying to sort a pecking order out 😂
First night on the wing speakin to a mate out the window as seen him on servery, someone started chattin the usual, then says see ya in the morning and all the talk, nexr morning door opened, sone kid asked me "is this your pad lad" i said yeah, he turned round and walked away, then says to me mate "ya could have told me he filled the door" 😂😂 (bit of an exaggeration on his part) needless to say nowt happened
I think most of them are same mate , go to Leeds there rough as fuck , go to Manchester , I've been plenty yoi and there all same , obviously moving away from your home around people who talk differently that can be challenging but always represent for my city and die for that , cause when I was in wetherby , doncatraz it was Leeds lad running the wings 100%

Fucking rough as fuck. I was there twice. 1991-92. As a welsh boy from Pwllheli I was scared. Terry Mccann was hardest lad in there.
Stoke heath wasn’t easy either but my worst was Walton 1987 0n the 5s it was 3 to a cell . That was my intro to the Cons
