I've got kids and was in and out of prison all the time and I ain't been prison for around 8 years and now I'm looking back and it destroys me that I missed out /Myownfault/ on so many things like that are one of times like first time they done something great! Cant get them times back! Prison is a proper mugs game .I'm sorry to my kids for having to see me banged up .I wish for anyone to trust me that put the younger 1st cos no kids should have to see there dad or mum banged up

Belmarsh even broke Nicholas van Hoogstraten. He ended up training as a samaritan while inside and said he had real sympathy for anyone sent there. Even when he was released on appeal he looked broken and wouldn't talk to the media for a while.
If you know what that man is like, you'll know how utterly out of character that is. It really got to him.

Single cell? Lucky bastard. They should have padded him up with some psycho. I just finished a 4 year 4 month sentence in a B-cat jail and I can tell you … it’s no picnic.
Pity he couldn’t feel like a woman who is made to share a cell with a male rapist, in for violent man, domestic violence etc. the authorities seem to think it’s ok to do that. Thankfully, in th UK the tide is turning

@@josephobi.837 The whole idea was for him to get a realistic feeling for what it’s like spending your first night in prison. Whilst much of it was accurate, he should have had a cellmate. It would have made for far better television!

Mattress is 💩, pillow (yes 1 pillow) is💩, you pick your food, lucky if you get what you choose, 2 pieces of doner meat and stone cold chips, kit change near none existent, toilets that don’t flush, twice a week every week 24hr bang up,

How is it a waste of money to have a tv in their cell? It's not like every prisoner gets their own tv bought for them. The cost of electricity to run them is negligible compared to the total energy costs.
