Jonathon, finding your videos has been an absolute revelation and I cannot thank you enough for sharing your incredible wealth of skill, knowledge and creativity with such generous clarity and heart. And, as if your spectacular technical and teaching skills weren't already enough, you have the most remarkable ability to communicate in a way that is so very natural, warm and inviting, making it feel as though I am right there with you in the workshop. Your complete lack of artifice and ability to connect with the viewer in such a calm, gentle and informative fashion is like nothing else on UA-cam. I found your channel only recently after just having completed the refinishing of significant and ambitious furniture pieces using chalk paint techniques I found on other channels. Large creative projects of any variety have always been a big part of my life not only for pure joy and pleasure, but also as a valuable and necessary tool in the management and maintenance of positive mental health. As such, your videos are in a league of their own not only in terms of your content that inspires me to learn and experiment on my next few furniture pieces (using techniques taught by you!) but also in their ability to simultaneously soothe and entertain in a way that is a balm for the spirit in these demanding and overstimulating times. You are an absolute treasure! Thank you, thank you, thank you. And please give my kind regards to your cat(s)!! 😺
I love it! It looks like it's been hidden away, preserved from light and sight, in the attic of a castle or chateau for a couple hundred years, and you discovered it like a hidden treasure! Beautiful.
There are no words to fully express how much I LOVE this piece! One thing I would like to share as to using a crackle medium. You can do all your painting and then you can put down a coat of the crackle medium and then use a clear coat to make it crackle. Then finish with your waxes. Although I think you still had the perfect amount of cracking.
After a particularly trying day, what a comfort it is to watch you create another masterpiece! The texture, the crackle, the wash, everything you chose is simply breathtaking, thank you so much for sharing! 🩷🩷🩷Wendy :)

What did you use for filler? Wood filler? my kitchen is white cabinets with taupe walls. The taupe lets the white pop. Definitely marble but make sure the color is repeated on the piece. nice piece. Nice wall finish also. Old wall paper used to be 2 ft wide. Presidents Lincoln's house.
Thought of you at my neighborhood garage sales, these people sell beautiful antique dressers and lovely pieces for next to nothing, I thought you would buy them all up😂
