I like your system Shane. Really cool and really efficient. They make a thing called a “power clip”. You could use it in place of the split ring. They work much easier and you could switch back and forth from lures to tuff bubbles without needing to get the split ring pliers out. Thank you for your videos man and best of luck!!! Mahalo!!!
It’s a short rub line. Sometimes the bubble gets hung up on the reef. Also, if I wanted to switch to a lure I just remove the bubble and attach a lure. Rub line is already spliced to the main line (braid).
@@skainoa if you on Oahu and like do a collab for menpachi lmk I got a bunch of grubs from Tylah lures and aku eye lures for menpachi but don’t really go for them but would love too
Not usually because I get better distance on the cast if it’s not running through, but if I’m fishing a spot that I know has lots of ledges I might run a longer leader that goes through the guides. Mahalo for watching🤙🏽
Do you ever put stuff inside the bubble float to make it rattle and attract predatory fish? What do you think about that?Heard it was good and am trying it right now but no luck yet. Thanks
I use a 20 gauge wire. .045 diameter. I’ve also used the Marlin wire I got from fishing supply store or even Walmart. It’s a little smaller diameter, #17 gauge .039 diameter but will definitely do the job.
@@Spanish_mack-770 Everything you can do to a tough bubble I’ve tried. Filled it with resin, bb’s, glow resin powder, polyurethane, glitter, stickers…the list goes on…I always go back to just using water. I don’t know, I just run the wire through and fill it with water and it’s been working. Check out my videos🤙🏽
You can run just braid through the bubble but after a while the braid will begin to fray from the bubble sliding up and down on it. Mono will take the rubbing much, much better.
Mahalo for sharing! Living in Japan but as soon as I get back home Hawaii I’ll give it a try.
Wow…Japan!!!
Awesome!!!
Genius! I didn't see the advantage of setting up the bubble like that until you swapped out the rig for your lure. Good idea!
Great setup. I love the wire through the bubble and the ring for changing from float to lure. I will be trying this.

I've been wanting to see this for awhile. Thanks for sharing Shane. Tight Lines!
thanks for sharing bro💖 i love to do that techniques of yours🎣 fish on always brother!🐟
I set up mine almost the same but use Ika Line (#30-50) instead of wire. Tactical Anglers power clips instead of split rings. Mahalo for sharing!
You should make that wire setup for the bubble and sell them. Those would sell well at J Hara and S Tokunaga on the Big Island.
Cheee been waiting for this ! Mahalos unko!
Mahalos!!!
Teaching me the ways! 👊🏽💯 Mahalo Shane! 🤙🏽
Thank you for the video unko 🤙🏾

unk why not braid to swivel above hammerbomb why extra knot ,extra line.straight braid to swivel to bubble then 3ft 15lb mono.sf style!!

Brah I tried your set-up today and took a major strike for da first time. Bust my line but I finally felt da rush finally 🤙🏽
Congratulations and welcome to the dark side of fishing…you are now hooked and will be forever chasing the next rush. Lol
Mahalo for the info.
If you ever have the time, maybe you could make a tutorial on how to make the wire setup you use with the tough bubble. Mahalo
Mahalo for sharing your knowledge 🤙

I’ve heard of some doing that but never tried it myself. I’ve heard the rattling attracts the predators. Gotta give it a try sometime.
Mahalo for the information braddah shane 🎣💯🤙🏽cant wait for the next mish!!! Aloha👍🏽

Hi mahalo for sharing your technique shane, i like your lure, may i know how or where i can buy that,
Nice system...mahalo for sharing!!
Mahalo!!!
Brilliant! 🤙
How do you retrieve? Straight or pop it?
Both
Fast and straight a few times then pop it a few times switching it up.
What do you do to get the heads on your flies so balanced and round? Been using Solarez UV but my heads often come out lumpy or uneven.
I use Solarez UV thick. I usually spin the fly slowly for a few seconds after applying the resin to let it even out then I hit it with the UV light.
Howzit Shane. Great video! What tool do you use for tie your wire?
Mahalos for watching!!!
I use 2 Vice Grip pliers to hold and twist the wire. Round Nose plier to make the loops and cutting pliers.
@@skainoa Thanks! Do you happen to have the diameter of the wire you use? Alot of wire packaging doesn't have a gauage number.

Remove the tape. Drill a small hole near the top, use a hot glue gun until it bubbles out. It will last longer. Good luck
Lol
@skainoa I use stainless steel instead of the 20 ga. Also 10 mm acrylic beads as a noise maker and protect the bubble from your crimps
@@Spanish_mack-770
That’s 20 gauge stainless steel wire. Wouldn’t think of using any other wire than ss in salt water. Lol
@skainoa try the hot glue trick. It cast further than water and won't break when you hit rocks

With this set up, how heavy are the plugs you run?
This one I throw 40-50g plugs. I believe a large tough bubble filled with water is around 56g
Can you just run straight braid to the bubble or need mono leader?

The wire come in different lengths? Where can I find it ?
You can use Marlin stainless steel wire. They sell it at Walmart and local fishing stores.
What rod you using ?
SPX PE1 1062-MH
Ouch what happened to your right thumb 😂
😂😂😂
You saw that huh?!?
Fish cleaning accident. Lol
What size bubble brahhda
I use the large 2 1/2” x 1 5/8”
filled with water little over 2/3.
