I've tried those wire minnow traps you can get at Walmart and have had success with regular cheap dry dog food for bait. They're pretty classic and work good for me. But I'll tell you what, there was a kid beside me today while I was fishing and he had one of those weighted minnow nets that work like the big nets they use for commercial fishing. He probably caught over 50 minnows with one throw. So I think I might try one of those out here soon.
Catching fish keep them alive put them in a giant fish tank wait until they lay eggs and multiply then pull one out every day and take a picture of it so your friend's think your a skilled fishermen.
That's why I use shinners... they're bigger lol

I use like 10$ minnow traps from walmart, just bait them and set them and you’ll have a whole colony of the things in minutes
