Honestly, I love watching videos of foreigners trying mexican food!! They actually help me give better descriptions of taste and flavor of dishes that I already know so well. For example, salsa and other chilé based sauces have been described as “sour” which I’ve never thought of, including friends and family, as simple as it sounds. My favorite diner in Georgia, oddly, had the most amazing chilaquiles. As I'm Korean, I couldn't even begin to claim if it was authentic or not, but it was the bed of beans and chips, the sauce, shredded chicken, cheese sauce, crema, and pico de gallo, all topped with 2 chicken flautas. As I said, I dunno if it was authentic or not, but it was tasty as hell. And so much food, it usually took me 3 meals to finish it. But I LOVED it.

I put pickled jalapenos in my quesadillas and I always fry them in a little oil so they get extra crispy on the outside. I also like to use some sharp cheddar in mine. And of course pico de gallo! With chilaquiles I like to cook the salsa and scramble some eggs in the salsa just before dumping the chips in, in so the chips get all coated with egg :) I usually make it with salsa verde, but I bet it would be impossible to find tomatillos there!
am I the only one who lost weight when going to Mexico 😳. everything is much more organic and fresh and although I ate so much junk food, I still somehow lost a ton of weight 😭
Really? That's interesting to hear since everybody I know always says they gain weight when coming here. I went to the US for two months since I have family there and I gained 2 pounds, I was so shocked 😭
The food is mexico is so fresh it made me not wanna come back home. The bread, the meat, the everything. I remember seeing rotisserie chicken in mexico and was surpised at how small it was but that's the actual size a chicken should be. The one's in the u.s are so filled with so many hormones that's why their big.
While I lived in Korea for a year, the local Mexican restaurant was always packed with the local populace! Mexican food has a special place in the heart of many Koreans!
My Korean bf LOVES chilaquiles, also huevos con tortilla frita, I've tell him chilaquiles for breakfast is my comfort food and he enjoys it a lot. We're currently living in Mexico so going out on weekends to have some or cook (even at night, I've tell him those are breakfasts but he still likes it) is a perfect date Thanks for this video !!!
My favorite "simple" quesadilla is queso fresco in a corn tortilla. The cheese doesn't melt much, just softens, but it is so freaking good and easy. If I want to get fancier, I like adobada/pastor, flour tortilla, Oaxaca cheese, cilantro, onion, spicy-ass salsa and lime.
Our only addition to quesadilla was chile LOL Tapatio or Valentina. We was broke growing up. I'd really like to see another part of this showing more of Mexican culture food (posole, mole, mexican rice, tamales, aguas frescas, etc.) I'm glad to see Koreans know a little more about the food from Mexican culture.
All these attacks on the Asian community really gave me the initiative to start learning another language. We are Spanish speakers and this video was so nice to see. I’m gonna pick up possibly Korean, or Vietnamese. I’ll eventually work my way up to Taiwanese, Mandarin or Cantonese. It’s sad that most of the elders cant communicate that well, this is something we can relate to as elders in our community also struggle with this, so this is my way of helping close that gap. My family agreed so we will all start taking online tutoring soon.
I’m not Mexican, but half Guatemalan and Salvadoran, and I feel like the ham should have been added while it was cooking rather than after the quesadilla was done.
you're right Samus, even if you're a South American hot female space bounty hunter, you still have a say on this!, that jamón would totally taste better if put there early in the preparation of those quesadillas, the only ones that don't have a say are chilangos as they clearly don't know how to prepare a proper quesadilla
@@ca1ko_ I was born in America. I’m fluent in English. It was a jab at you using the wrong “you’re”. And it’s pretty racist to say I can’t have a say in how a quesadilla is made. What next? I can’t make spaghetti because I’m not Italian?
The quesadillas I *make* are gringo-style flour tortillas with whatever cheese and other ingredients I have in the fridge; the quesadillas I *favor* are fresh corn masa-based assemblies from scratch when I visit family in Mexico City, stuffed with the veggie fillings I miss [that are harder to find than all the typical meat fillings north of the border] like huitlacoche, calabasa, hongos/champiñones, and rajas. (I can vouch for fusiony mixes like mashed potatoes and kimchi under a blanket of pepper jack.)
i can't believe he went to the trouble of chopping and cooking that ham, i just throw the whole slice on it 😂 edit: omg he puts so much effort into it ksjdsjd i just put it in the microwave to melt the cheese while my comal heats and then throw it on the comal to charr it and im done in like 3 mins lmao

I just realized this! Lol
@@theheron3404 Man of Culture I see.
Any woman can be romanced with food, take notes and start cooking fellas!
Yes, this is giving me the idea it'll be much better... elsewhere 😏
it makes me so happy seeing people enjoy our food
Why do they look so cute doesn't matter what they are doing?
Dude same when I went i lost weight and my face got slimmer, but then when I came back to the states I went back to how I was😭😭
@@lisawater310 😂😂😂 facts and when I got there I got sick asf especially that clean water is different
ME TOO OMG
I love giving tastes, I don't need gifts just give me food with care. And quesadilla is.. so tasty. I love it all ways but steak is king for me
VIVA MEXICO!
so happy to see others enjoying our culture through food🥰
Love seeing this kind of content. SO wholesome.
As a mexican i feel proud to see the raza spread our culture to another country
My Korean bf LOVES chilaquiles, also huevos con tortilla frita, I've tell him chilaquiles for breakfast is my comfort food and he enjoys it a lot. We're currently living in Mexico so going out on weekends to have some or cook (even at night, I've tell him those are breakfasts but he still likes it) is a perfect date
Thanks for this video !!!
huevos con tortilla frita, das it mane
Mmmm Tapatio with a quesadilla is THE SHIT!
@@ca1ko_ My not what?
@@ca1ko_ as a Mexican I fully agree with Samus, I feel like they should have put the ham as it was cooking lol
@@ca1ko_ it's not like Mexicans are the only ones who eat quesadillas, it's really not a big deal for them to have an opinion on it
you're right Samus, even if you're a South American hot female space bounty hunter, you still have a say on this!, that jamón would totally taste better if put there early in the preparation of those quesadillas, the only ones that don't have a say are chilangos as they clearly don't know how to prepare a proper quesadilla
@@ca1ko_ I was born in America. I’m fluent in English. It was a jab at you using the wrong “you’re”.
And it’s pretty racist to say I can’t have a say in how a quesadilla is made. What next? I can’t make spaghetti because I’m not Italian?
Their energy is so bright....
I'M LIVING FOR IT XD
Food looks so nicccceeeeeee
As a Mexican this is dope & makes me want to learn Korean just like this dude as well. Mexican food is the bomb Browb pride.🇲🇽
Dude mentioned quesadillas and I immediately went to go make myself some
The quesadillas I *make* are gringo-style flour tortillas with whatever cheese and other ingredients I have in the fridge; the quesadillas I *favor* are fresh corn masa-based assemblies from scratch when I visit family in Mexico City, stuffed with the veggie fillings I miss [that are harder to find than all the typical meat fillings north of the border] like huitlacoche, calabasa, hongos/champiñones, and rajas.
(I can vouch for fusiony mixes like mashed potatoes and kimchi under a blanket of pepper jack.)
i can't believe he went to the trouble of chopping and cooking that ham, i just throw the whole slice on it 😂
edit: omg he puts so much effort into it ksjdsjd i just put it in the microwave to melt the cheese while my comal heats and then throw it on the comal to charr it and im done in like 3 mins lmao
finally some real mexican food!!! this made my heart grow a billion times bigger, thank you for making this 🥺 also!! the colors of the veggies make the mexican flag it’s wonderful
