The raid being super short is a feature not a bug. It makes it easier for gamer dads to get away from the wife and kids long enough to get the raid done without generating too much threat.
On CrusaderStrike (US), Ashenvale is almost never a PVE-only affair. The strategy of both sides involves sending massive teams to wipe the opposition as they are working on a boss.
I dont think runes should take longer to find but i do like he idea of there being things for us to find that take time, like new bop recipies or something like that
Maybe not hard, but have them have a class identity. Most of the runes in p1 were like that and if they keep thatbup it's great. I still believe very strong runes like metamorphisis should take you a bit longer as it is a massive addition which can completely change the way you play your class.
As someone who never really enjoyed Vanilla, SoD has been pretty cool. My biggest gripe is that since PvP is a major focus, which I like, the rune power between classes is wildly different even with gear. I would like to see rune balances rather than nerfing an entire class, also can we please get a solo queue for BGs? An example of rune power is how druids can essentially hit one button to kill you, Starsurge hits for 200+ and that's just dumb.
I wish people that get the opportunity to interview Aggrend and co would really stress the importance of getting on top of botting, RMT & GDKP's for the integrity and sustainability of the game. I worry about end game being a cess pit for those that don't participate in swiping.
I do believe the interviewers are given a list of things they can't ask about. Wouldn't be surprised if it was on it. Besides, it would be a waste of time because they would avoid they topic or give the same answer as a blue post would.
Having now played a few classes and trying to minimize spoiler for rune discovery, I'd say that some runes are great and well designed (deadly brew rune feels perfect and is really fulfilling for class fantasy and everything) while others just feel kind of stupid (like starsurge rune where you just talk to a guy and eat some shrooms). I think that runes should be much more quest oriented. Not to say that every rune needs an explicit quest marker to work, but that runes where you are on a quest chain or are tasked with going out of your way feel way more fun than runes where you just get a random drop and do 1 thing and get your rune. Like blade dance rune in westfall for rogue was really cool. You do pickpocket things, you get a cryptic note, you follow its clues and you make your way to finding your rune. That feels fulfilling. But the Regen rune for mage in Silverpine Forest where you just kill a specific NPC until it drops your rune, feels kind of weak. I want more runes that tap into player class fantasy, that are on long epic quest chains, that use resources/abilities that players normally ignore or pass over. Imagine a rune in P2 that involves speaking to a person in a specific language. So if you are a Troll you gotta speak Troll to get more details about a rune location. How do you know you have to speak Troll? The NPC is in a city of leveling zone and is occasionally /say in Troll. I'm not sure how that would work for Orcs and Humans, but it would just be something to be like "here's a thing you don't normally think about, let's make you think about it and you'll get a cool new ability if you do."
some of the runes were just a chore to get. i get the spirit of discovery, but divine storm, metamorph, the ratchet guy etc.. it was just silly and way too much. i like playing alts (currently have 5 horde, 5 alliance in 25). once you unlock all runes on one char, it should be MUCH easier to unlock all runes on other chars.
Removing the lockout from BFD and giving an experience boost to mobs and bosses would be the coolest thing ever. It's SO cool to think everyone could get their BiS items from the raid before going into Gnomeragon. I''m not sure that Blizz would do it because they don't do stuff that awesome. lol
I dont like the idea of removing the lockout from BFD...what I personally would like is for BFD to keep its lockout but it gives us something like one entire level, for 30min-ish time + some possible good loot, thats very good!
The argument that some things like runes or bfd seem too easy, I think this comes from a point of view from a seasoned gamer. However, we have to remember that there are a lot of people playing wow for the first time and sod being that iteration of wow they are trying first. Just for example I have a buddy who's dad who is 60years old just started playing. He loves it. Retail is far too busy and convoluted, having to catch up on 20 years of story, and complicated mechanics. What I think we are all doing is having fun in wow again, and damn we want more. Finally an outlet for our wow energy. Blizzard is going to do sod right I think, because out of all their games they see they finally got one right, and the community is behind them for once, cheering for the for once. Bravo job imo, can't wait for phase 2.
Yeah Classic era prices are throught the roof, but so is the Materials, with a couple of hours farming and crafting, you can get thousands of gold. People just need to forget old prices and adjust to the new inflated numbers.
not only is gold being pumped as questing at max lvl on each phase, but also, many players have alts, and they do the same thing also on their alts, and also people farm, and farm, and farm items for next phase, which is potential gold, which will eventually be gold pumped, just changing hands. There will be an enormous amounts of gold in 5-6 months.
I have been very vocal about wanting them to ban gold buyers. My problem is that how do you avoid ppl banning ppl they dont like by buying gold for them? It would be such a cheap way of getting someone banned that you dont like.
The punishment for gold-buying shouldn't be perma-bans, it should be that all your gold, gear, and items get deleted. They could even replace equipped gear with lvl1 grey set "...of the cheater". That would be a better deterrence because the punished will surely loudly complain in-game when it happens.
i havent had this much fun playing an MMO in sucha long time. classic vanilla and classic wrath were really fun and i played both a lot but so far on SoD ive leveled every single class to 25, every reset i raid with ALL 8 CLASSES and i cannot get enough. my one complaint is MORE LOOT. for instance since i started raiding ive done 5 runs on my hunter and i have ONE piece of raid loot....so many groups like to stack rogues druids and hunters usually you are looking at half the raid wearing leather all fighting over the same drops. they need to increase how many item drops imo or at least make certain peices of gear CLEARLY "hunter" or "rogue" because how it is now youve got all leather wearers fighting over the same stuff
Idk man, I like Ashenvale. You CAN make it very PVE, but the 50v50, 70v70, 100v100's are insane and really fun. And the massive amount of PVP before and after like he said. It's been fun. #RoadWars
Hey StaySafe, did you know that in classic era you are not even able to transfer servers if you have over only 5,000 gold? &Just like you mentioned in this video where recipes like flasks will be tens of thousands of gold it is also like that in classic, a game thats been out since 2019, but having 5,000g is too much!? If you are on a dead server with dead AH you cant even just spend your gold and then transfer, you cannot just make an alt and buy another paid transfer to send your other gold. &You only find this out after you have paid.
I really didnt enjoy the runesystem the first few days. Getting to 10 on my druid and learning there are 3 runes that are as hidden as eastereggs. So i was faced with 1 of 3 choices. - Run around looking and clicking everything hoping i would run into the rune (and the mob was not despawned) - Google where the runes are. - Leave without runes knowing i lack required spells and that i would be forced to return for them.
Lying to people to scare people won't work lol slowly but surely people will realize everybody is gold buying still and nobody is getting banned and then it continues to happen as usual. Blizzard have tried this approach.
Only big change id like is longer raid clear (60-75 min average) and 5 day lockout. 3 is just too quick especially with alts. Oh and ban all gold buying
ive leveled every class to 25, a couple of my characters have okay gear, most have next to nothing and ive been doing all of them each lockout for the past 4-5 resets. my hunter has done 5 bfd runs and has ONE piece of gear, if im getting gear this slowly with a 3 day lockout then a 5 day or 7 day lockout would totally kill my interest. ive collected more "off spec" gear than main spec on all my toons, the competition for what does drop is insane.

I would really like them to dedicate more content to pvp. there has been balance changes for pvp already, so why not make content it? right now many people don't have fun in pvp because they are doing it for pve fear(srg cloak, the neck and rings) and make premades to just stomp. It would be healthier for the game if pvp was rewarding and not just a tool to gear. WSG is only fun when both groups can focus on having fun there rather than sweating out pug-stomp matches to gear quickly.

I don’t really understand why the ashenvale event is so disliked I’m so glad they added a way to speedrun the bg rep grind seeing how its just a seasonal severer I’d hate to do 800 wsg and when it come to the PvP aspect often raids will road block the way to a boss, or just defend one of our bosses wiping other raids maybe people would prefer just fighting over a contested area and have a load bar go up idk
STV is burnt as a zone. PVP event + PVP server = gtfo. My only care is what the STV faction rep rewards are, and if there are any runes in there. Other than that, BB's only excuse as a flight path is for fishing, nothing else.
The ashenvale pvp is easily fixable by forcing players to get 50-100 honorable kills in between pve boss kills or something else like needing to farm scalps and ears to summon a boss like in AV and you have to guide him to destroy structures to unlock another boss. Why would anyone pvp if there's no incentive..
The raid does not need to be longer or harder at all. then it just becomes a huge chore to be doing every 3 days. BFD is absolutely perfect. People cry for harder content in Classic then quit because of it. Raiding and player numbers consistently showing that quick & easy 10 player raids are the best format for Classic and it isn't even close. if SoD keeps this format going forward it will be a huge success. The moment raiding becomes difficult it will just become another GDKP nightmare and most of the population will quit playing. Nobody needs to do GDKP runs when they can quickly and easily clear the content every 3 days themselves without needing to be carried. Blizzard must keep this easy 10 player raid format going forward or SoD will die. I also mean from MC to Naxx they should keep this format and make Naxx much easier. Do you understand how many people will want to clear Naxx every reset if they keep this format. The game will be poppin off from MC all the way to Naxx like this. That's so many phases of active Classic from Leveling phases to true endgame. Let the sweaty no changes GDKP lovers play on ERA if they want. Keep SoD the way it is now.

the rune quests vary as much as the normal quests, so i don't mind that some are simple.
I love how Staysafe is worried they’ll ruin STV, but I HATE it, and I try to avoid it at all costs every character I level on a PvP server
