- I love doing party flowers at @northcadburycourtuk - such a beatiful old grand country house, still owned by the family and with still a real family feel despite the size. And whenever I go there I find friends and colleagues beavering away making our corner of Somerset the welcoming place it is. Today I arrived to find Nell of Home Table Dining with whom I'm working next weekend too at a big family wedding. Do look up her website and if you're having an event whether intimate or huge she is a great caterer to ask to help. And do look up North Cadbury Court too - you never know, one day you too might need to give your friends and family the full Downton Abbey experience in a big old English country house.

Oh no, I had to turn off the sound re the fire alarm beeps. My dog goes into alarm mode too! I ❤ the flowers and the glass and the venue. Thank you for sharing your flower farm!

My ranunculus were a total failure this year so I will have to go back to the drawing board if I decide to grow them next year. Yours are absolutely a joy to behold. Gardens are curious places. While the ranunculus failed, a calla lily unexpectedly bloomed from a grocery store plant I bought last year and plopped in the ground as an experiment. More callas next year!

I was explaining to my husband, this morning, of your use of trees and shrubs. Oop, I ended up breaking a fresh branch on our miniature oak tree. It's now tied into a posy vase (with cotton twine around the branch then down to the base of the vase) 😂

So fun!!! And what a beautiful venue. How lovely is it that you can make people's special moments even more special?? I'm wondering, though, what it might look like if you were to arrange the table flower vases in groups of maybe three, then take the teeny bud vases and sort of randomly dot them in between? I don't know, maybe that wouldn't really work, but I was thinking maybe the spaced vases on the long tables looked a little symmetrical and the tiny ones on the mantel were too small? But really gorgeous, Georgie, I'm being way nitpicky 💚
Ah the table will have been filled up with a lot more kit before the guests arrived: candelabra with tall, dipped candles, wine, water, salts and peppers and more - so I expect the posies will have been changed about to fit the rest and I never saw xxx

How do you keep your lilacs from wilting, mine only last a day or two. I harvest early morning, slit stem, use quick dip, put in cool water in cool dark room but no luck.
cut early, slit stem, I never use quick dip - you could sear? x
