2008-2011 was peak LEGO. Perfect balance of old school themes with updated modern designs that still look good today. Every time I see a video like this, it just makes me think the company has strayed so far...
The LEGO set barely resembles the train in the show. The biggest difference is probably that the set it is a steam engine with cage-like carriages and the one in the show is a smooth, electric-looking (and less LEGO looking).
What I always figured happened with the Serpentine Train was that somewhere along the line, a decision was made to change the vehicle used in the show - the episode in question has the Serpentine commandeer a bus, not a train. Ergo, my thought process was that they were at one point planning on having the snakes hijack a train, and by the time they decided to switch, it was too late to fully redesign the set to match, so it was scrapped.
The Atlantis series was one of my favourite lego themes ever. I probably got over half the sets back when they came out, together with the Power Miners series which eventually got its third wave to be canceled sadly. I've got a lot of good memories for these series :')
Serpentine Train, Seatron Monorail, and Bison, the three sets that would’ve made the list for toy of the year were they released today. Sadly, with Disney’s lawsuit against Lego over the Airport Shuttle, the end of 2012 Ninjago, and nobody at Lego really caring to divulge how many Bison Prototypes were actually created, nevermind actually letting one go, it seems we will never see these famous concepts become a reality. Poor Bison. Poor Yellow Monorail Motor Cover, Poor Snake Train….. I am sad for them.
I remember when the head mold for the alien in minifigure series 13 was leaked, fans thought it was Zoidberg and rumors started that lego would be making futurama sets. Maybe the head was made for Zoidberg, but was reused when lego didn't make futurama sets.
I swear to god there’s this Lego camp in my area that has so many old and vintage Lego pieces being used to build things by little kids. They probably bought these sets in the late 90s and still have a lot of their pieces. So I bet they could have a few hundred bucks just sitting under their noses
That 7774 Aqua Raiders set looks a lot like the model for the Penguin Submarine that appears in the second vehicle mission on the Lego Batman video game from 2009.
So weird that the Boneheads of Voodoo Island aren't mentioned in this video, being the prototypes for Bionicle, but then again they're already extremely well documented elsewhere.
Some of the buildable Star Wars characters were great. I still have Grievous and Vader displayed. Those were bigger than the average and were the best looking ones IMO
Number 7 of if you do another lego errors i'v got one. on Lloyd's golden ultra Dragon two of the vengestone warriors have armor pieces but in most of the promotional images it does not and in the real set it does not
Is it me or some of those prototypes were much better than the original releases??? Also lego and their designers has allot of weirdness when it comes to build something really cool for a release, and the decisions to make for a release! They are really strict in some rules as it seems,it reminded only the alien head this build and would be also an awesome refer to the franchise!
the only exclusive part of that darth vader is the helmet. you can get the cape from superman and the easiest way i know to get a completely red figure is the everyone is awesome pride set.
I was born in 2005 so I couldn’t see all the great old lego set’s but….luckily my uncle is a chad and he had a lot of original stuff such as the old millennium Falcon
Weren't the serpantine the whole gimmick of Ninjago that season? Is that why the designers went buck wild with their stuff? Like; Oops, we have too many ninjas in our Ninja line
they were the main villains of that wave's season, yeah! =) i think spitbrix's argument of "they had too many serpentine vehicles already" is pretty solid as to why it the train was axed, along with the fact it had no counterpart in the show (the bus doesn't count). idk if this is true of Every fan but i liked buying some sets because they're included in the show - it's basically a walking advert for the sets so you can spin your own take on the season and a random train wouldn't really make sense lmfao i think it never got a legacy release Because of that fact - since it was never a thing in the show it wouldn't make sense to "remake" it or give it its own set. and with ninjago getting fully rebooted next year (for real this time, the latest season was the finale for the current cast) i think it's safe to say it won't be a thing anytime soon 😔

I really wish lego would've released the surpentine train set! It would've been an super awesome set!

That SeaTron looked cool. The alien was very ahead of its time. I had seen images of it before, but thought it was a Space Police 3 alien!

Lawsuit?
@@GeneralPurposeVehicl Yep, it's why we don't have monorails anymore.
The story I have heard is that Lego repeatedly has stated that the Monorail just cost too much to produce to be economically feasible...
I really wish B2 super battle droid was released. It seems to be the best looking of that series.
Range trooper: uhhhhhh
I never even heard of the prototype but I would have gotten that boi as soon as it hit the shelves same with general grievous
8:20 “…When they introduced these Star Wars sets, the response was LUKEwarm at best.”
Subtle pun there
I'm gonna miss hidden side, it was one of my favorite series.
sorry this is off topic
I have always thought the sea tron aliens looked to cool not to release
I keep hoping one of these days they’ll show up in the CMF series…
8:19 - 8:24 “However when LEGO introduced these Star Wars sets their response was LUKEwarm at best”
I see what you did there!
As somebody who hasn’t used Lego in like 20 years that underwater train one looks awesome
I agree on the Entangler. I like it a lot. And the comparison to the Tumbler helps for me, as that's my favourite batmobile.
I remember when the head mold for the alien in minifigure series 13 was leaked, fans thought it was Zoidberg and rumors started that lego would be making futurama sets. Maybe the head was made for Zoidberg, but was reused when lego didn't make futurama sets.
I want all of these. Just because funny.
No it's not
Lego needs to focus on original themes that aren't just Ninjago again. Lego is just pure licensed stuff rn it feels
Oh wow!
These are quite interesting!
I swear to god there’s this Lego camp in my area that has so many old and vintage Lego pieces being used to build things by little kids. They probably bought these sets in the late 90s and still have a lot of their pieces. So I bet they could have a few hundred bucks just sitting under their noses
I still wish Ninjago Legacy brought back that train for real.
you know those leg-o's at 5:05 I have the exact same piece but only one. EVERYTHING IS AWSOME!
It is hard for me not to love that space police car. I love almost every wheel based Lego vehicle.
I'm still mad that LEGO Ninjago train didn't get released. Those Serpentine sets were all great.
I definitely would have bought the entangler. I love the unified shape, the fully enclosed cockpit, it just looks like a complete design.
6:40 will we ever get a lego byzen? The world may never know 😂
8:30 to be honest these look very cool! If they would've released i would've definitely picked these up
It’s sad that the Star Wars build figures weren’t very popular, I loved making big robot with the pieces
Very cool video keep it up

he he....i remember getting the set at 9:18 for Christmas as a kids these vids bring back memories

I love your videos
Man I would've loved that space police entangler as a kid
I really wish there was a lego bison prototype set made as a throwback to western or someone making a bison in the old lego style.
Wow! That’s so cool!
Number 7 of if you do another lego errors i'v got one. on Lloyd's golden ultra Dragon two of the vengestone warriors have armor pieces but in most of the promotional images it does not and in the real set it does not
Awesome video, really wish that aqua grin thing existed thanks
please update us when you update the program! this is awesome!
Can we see a return of the mystery mini bags?
we never even got a sky bison for avatar let alone a regular bison
Also one of those fan pieces at 9:29
The space police entangler kind of looks like the big green and white galaxy squad truck
I had a dragon set that you could build multiple dragons from the same pile of bricks.
I completely forgot space police existed I used to have a few of those sets as a kid
DUDE THANK YOU FOR THE 15 DOLLARS!
thats crazy hands down!
good video btw!

i’m still happy on my first two lego mocs i designed i got both right on the first try but i haven’t been apple to get it quite right
8:25 I don't seem to recall any Super Battle droids in The Phantom Menace
Aquazone was my fav theme ever
I like them cuz the're so unique
Thank God the Reddit user has the Seatron minifigure! I was wondering about the whereabouts of the figures!
where on earth is that Alien Conquest picture from?
Huge bummer about the Super Battle droid buildable figure. I have the General Grievous one and genuinely like it
That white-trans blue color scheme of Space Police III originated in later Classic Space, and was also used in Futuron and Exploriens...
You deserve 10 mil
Where do you find all of these?😂😂😂
i would definitly buy every space police prototype
5:12 i actually have that set that you said was unreleased of that alien crawler
i think SeaTron is really good. it gives me Barotrauma vibes
I really miss the knight, pirate and western themes...
