Apparently the 'No, don't touch that' when Grey was talking about the Ice9 is a reference to the book Cat's Cradle. From what I found online..
"In Kurt Vonnegut’s 1963 novel Cat’s Cradle, a central plot element is called ice-nine. The substance, created in a lab, was made up of familiar H2O molecules, but they were locked in a novel crystalline structure that froze solid at room temperature. This is actually just an audio clip of Grey ranting to Civilizations 4 about how they should use hexagonal tiles instead of square tiles so Grey can get the most nearby resources per city. They listened and Civ 5 has hexagonal tiles. Years later, Grey decides to animate it.

I disagree with this video. The most efficient way decrease the surface area to volume ratio is to increase the size of the shape rather than change it to a hexagon. For shapes of the same size, however, the hexagon would be the best shape to use, but I do not see why the bees don’t just make their holes bigger
@@chieuleyang6768 Each hexagonal cell contains an egg which develops into larvae, which in turn spins a cocoon and pupates into a bee, all within the cell. So making the cells any bigger than necessary for that purpose would be wasteful.

But anyways, if you'd be brave enough to plan on getting out, you should consider that squares are easier to mathematically organize and calculate overall, not to mention that hexagons are the definition of inefficient when attempting to convert into and using as a 3d polygon, as opposed to cubes. But the members of the hexagon order are probably going to see this and do unthinkable things to me for telling you this. I've already said too much...
@@foxelfire Pfah squares are infinitely divisible and the repitition of the pattern is exactly it's weakness. The lines are the source of strength but the square pattern aligns the weakest lines alternating with the strongest lines.
The square pattern also propagate forces along the lines, never dampening the forces until the squares bend enough to cease to be squares, unlike the hexagon that divides the forces in two again and again.
