My brother won the sheepshead category 3 times in the 80's he would climb under the old ammunition dump pier with 50# hand line. Using seawall roaches.
Oh yeah! Crawfish work good! Buddy of mine won the sheepshead tournament with them! He would borrow my pyramid traps every year about 2 weeks beforehand to get stocked up on bait.

LOL THAT HOOKSET THOUGHT!!!!( even thought it broke off) Have had many days like that where the fish just dont want to stay on. Love me some sheepshead fishing. Never thought to use mudbugs for some sheepshead. Man that looked like it was so much fun. Excellent Video Capt as usual.
I use freshwater crawfish for everything in Michigan, and it works very well. Freshwater fish bite on them very well. I am not surprised that sheepheads like them.
If you're out to absolutely pack the cooler with sheepshead treble hooks are the key. Gamakatsu #2 with a shrimp wrapped around it and pierced in 3 places; you will hook up with damn near every bait. It's not very sporting but if your out to fry some fish that's how you smoke em.
Great job guys.thats what fishing is all aboht, trying new stuff.i wouldn't throw my sheepshead back because thats the only fish i eat lol.keep up the good work
I took 250 fresh caught crawfish to the coast with me about 10 years ago, kept them alive in a large bait box we made out of a large cheap cooler and never caught anything. Never even got a bite, lol. Finally dumped them out and kept with traditional baits. Wasn't fishing from a boat and didn't know anything about sheepshead fishing at the time. Fishing Port Aransas, Texas. My preferred fishing / vacation spot each year.
Damnit Collier another awesome video who else would think too use crawfish for sheepshead keep up the good work you'll be at 100,000 before you know it.

I watch all the videos and love it so y'all could catch mullet all video and I would still tune in.
I've caught plenty of Tautog and Black sea bass with crawfish,I actually won the pool on a headboat out of New Jersey back in the 90's using them..still use em all the time
You guys look like y'all are having too much fun! I'm sure you would be a fun guy to fish with and that is important to me. It's not all about catching fish, although that does help. It's about getting out and just having good clean fun! Great video!
That was a hoot!! Great video. Crawfish is good whatever you use it for. What you don’t use, ya eat. 😁 Thanks for sharing a fun video with you and homeless Tanner. 😂
I’ve been callin them crawdads my whole life but now I don’t think I can call em anything else but mud crickets 😂😂😂 that’s some good stuff. Great video as always brother 👊🏻
Would love to see what you could yeet offshore with different baits like crawfish, crab, slim jim, etc. Saw one you did with a wrench jig, that was awesome!
I’m from the Mississippi gulf coast and I use to use crawfish for bait when I was living down there. I’m living in the Tennessee mountains now. I miss the coast so much which I still call home. You need to try in bay saint louis in the marsh areas which are loaded with redfish and specks. I love your videos man keep on keeping on.
Saw you this morning in the bayou we was in the two Jon boats I hit Dauphin island the bayou and industrial canal looking for sheepshead and nothing I heard everybody had a pretty slow day how did you do
It was a tough day for sure, i was on a charter. 4 keeper Sheepshead in 5 or 6 different locations all day. Finally said screw it and went and got a 4 man limit of redfish
@@CaptCollier dang when we saw you was by yourself I went to the island today and caught 40 sheeps yesterday caught 2 same spot I guess the cold front and muddy water messed them up
I either tie an FG Knot or a uni to uni knot to boing my main line with my leader. I personally like the FG knot better because it’s more streamline, it just takes a few seconds longer to tie
Man that’s crazy, I would think so as well. Did you try pinching the head off and just using the tail? We noticed we got more bites that way. I think their big head intimidates them
I wanna see y’all in the canoe under that dock, take one of the rods tanner has broke and glue a tip on it so it’s about 3ft long. Also, try some stuff used in freshwater like crickets or big night crawlers. Would be a cool video.
Haha he's broke a few. Im sure he'll definitely break one fishing under there, but heck yea we'll be making a trip under there soon. Gonna be some serious fish battles going on

The old ammo dump at Theodore industrial canal?
