My Brothers yall brought back so many memories catching these sheepshead. When I was in college I would go catch some and sell to the older locals in the neighborhood they loved those things. I had to sell them because that's how I made my money I never called home for money or asked anyone to do anything for me I always worked for it. But I loved this video brought back some good memories from where I was then to where I'm at in life now. GOD BLESS
I was fishing once with my brother and there was a bunch of guys fishing also. The guy next to us had hooked something and started to hoot and holler while he put up an epic battle to land his catch which turned out to be an eyeglass case with the glasses.
I once 'cought' a rubber slipper while bottom fishing. But the thrill was amazing. It sway left and right like big catfish with the help of strong current.
Love them sheeps. My buddy and I tried something different, we used our ultralight crappie rigs for specks in the industrial canal. That is a hoot !! You can catch them on the little stuff.
Get a longer rod than a ice fishing rod. We use 5 to 6' with 10 lb. braid and 10 lb mono leader. Can' throw a bait very far with those short little rods. The rod actions we use are medium/light ,
You guys look like your having a blast. I too love to catch sheepshead and they put up a good fight on light tackle. I have caught some monsters around the Ponce Inlet jetties in Daytona Beach. An excellent fish to target in the cooler months!
Always have a blast on the water with friends ripping some lips, but them sheeps do make it better! Oh I bet, we still need a few more cold fronts for them to get really fired up. I’m ready
From an old sheepshead fisherman.....bring you a 1x4 board and scrape along the pylons, knocking off barnacles, chumming the water. flip your bait down current and hold on.
THAT HOOKSET THOUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats how to properly start a video. Sheepshead is the best type of fishing. Well done Capt another great video.
Been whacking the sheeps on my charters lately. They’re the fish that got me into saltwater I love them, if you’re ever in Savannah Georgia look up Bad Intentions Fishing Charters
I use to use the uni to uni knot. But now FG knot is all I use, I would highly suggest learning that knot, it’s really slim and strong. And don’t have to worry about swivels ruining your guides if you happen to reel up to far.
My favorite fish to catch and probably in my top 5 on the table. They are delicious for sure. I would much rather catch sheeps all day than reds. Nice work!!
Brother I haven’t fished in ocean for years my favorite believe it or not in big blues, fightingest, fesh in sea, but what I’d give to catch few of them sunfish y’all are catchen
Man it seems like you guys in AL have a much easier time catching fish than we do here in SW FL. I'm guessing the amount of people has something to do with it and the lack of structure.
That'd be so much fun man, plenty of action. Pitty l'm 10,000 miles away , maybe holidays someday. Loved the vid , plenty more of your vids to check out, tight lines brother 🎣 🐟 🇦🇺
That's Goat City...They come to the barge like Jacks do on Draggers...Not skeerd at all...A lot of puppies and reds there to..Fine cloakers, sammiches for days..Glad you left the crab trap bait alone....RTR
7' MH Shimano teramar rod with a 3000 shimano ultegra spooled with 20lb power pro braid. I use an FG knot to join that to 20lb flouro leader. Sorry, forgot to mention that.
Pretty work! Here in Manteo, NC, we fish for sheepies until the water temp starts dropping below 68. What was your water temp? What temperature have you found the Sheepshead bite to slowdown or stop? Just a FYI, around here we call puppy drum any redfish that is slot or smaller, and black drum, we just call… black drum😂 Tight lines, but not too tight!
Hey Cap 😎 Awesome content as Usual!!! Would love to stretch a line w/you. Don’t have Much chance to get down there but would ride down ANY wknd for a Saturday or Sunday mornin!!! 🤣🏍🇺🇸 Be comin from adamsville outside bham

Nice trip, enjoyed this one. Two friends having a good time is always fun to share.

😂 I’m sure most fishermen has done something similar to that before

😃 one of my favorites for inshore fishing fo sho! Thanks!
Great video! Catching sheepers like that is a blast.
Best part is the frying pan afterwards. 😁🍻
Haha you ain’t kidding. I’ll take them over trout and redfish any day of the week
Hey dad if your watching, he knew I’d be watching. Thanks for the sheep’s capt. 😂. Thanks for the vid really cool area you guys are fishing.
Haha anytime. He did catch the biggest of the day
It looks like the best way to make a delicious meal.
The crabs usually get the job done
I'm looking forward to that croaker catch and cook. They any good? They're from the drum family....
I was just joking about the CCC but i may do one in the future. They taste like small redfish to me. Not bad at all
Great fishing guys
Thanks 👍
My favorite kinda fishing nice vid capt thanks and keep em coming 👍👍
Mine too when it gets cold 😁 thanks
Been whacking the sheeps on my charters lately. They’re the fish that got me into saltwater I love them, if you’re ever in Savannah Georgia look up Bad Intentions Fishing Charters
Heck yea same here. Such a fun fish to catch and eat!
Would like to see exactly how to hook fiddler‘s crab , and set a hook fishing for them
I have a lot of sheepshead catching videos on my channel where I talk about that if you’d like to check them out
Capt.have you tried oysters or clams for bait
I have before in the past, I’ve found that crabs are the easiest and less expensive bait to use. But they will definitely eat those baits as well
Hey how do you connect your leader to your braid i like using small swivel eyes?
I use to use the uni to uni knot. But now FG knot is all I use, I would highly suggest learning that knot, it’s really slim and strong. And don’t have to worry about swivels ruining your guides if you happen to reel up to far.
@@CaptCollier ok thanks
great job on the sheep 🐑. also those were some hoss crokers. God Bless and stay safe 🙏
Thanks! And they tasted great 👍🏻
Good stuff. How do you like to cook your sheep ! I use to just fry them. !
Thanks! And pan seared with some butter and Everglades seasoning is my favorite

Gotta do the bump on a solid double up
Man it seems like you guys in AL have a much easier time catching fish than we do here in SW FL. I'm guessing the amount of people has something to do with it and the lack of structure.
What state are you fishing in and what's the limit on sheep head
Alabama, and it’s 10 per person. 12” to the fork
That'd be so much fun man, plenty of action. Pitty l'm 10,000 miles away , maybe holidays someday. Loved the vid , plenty more of your vids to check out, tight lines brother 🎣 🐟 🇦🇺
Thanks for stopping by and watching dude. 💪🏻🎣
How we get a charter with you captain??
Looking forward to catching my first sheepshead!
Hell yeah Cap! Good day
Preciate it ! 🤙
Puppy drum I thought was the fish you threw back.
That was a cool vid bro 👊🏻
Thanks bro
Great video guys! :)
Glad you liked it!
Y’all had those Sheepie’s rounded up! It’s like you are shepherds or something…😂
Herding sheeps is what we do! 😀
New to the channel and curious what state you fish in. I can't tell from the water...nice fish guys, good job.
And another question. What were the floating squares?
Thanks, i fish out of Alabama. The floating things are farm raise oyster cages for growing and harvesting
Those crabs are fun to get videos of!
Yes they always seem to get the job done!
Good stuff my brotha!
Appreciate it!
Awesome video my man
Thanks!
whats the specs on the shimano rod you using?
It’s a 7ft medium heavy shimano teramar. It has some great flex but still enough backbone to turn their heads if I need too
@@CaptCollier i like the way it was flexing ill look into it thanks.
when I saw "Delicious" in the title, I knew you were selling Sheephead. Ha.
will a circle hook work in sheep
They will, but I feel like you get less hookups
wont crab pinch the fish internals as they are live ?
Naw, they crush them up before they swallow them
how do you like the media mod?
It’s convenient for connecting my external mic to the GoPro but a pain in the butt when you have to swap batteries
That's Goat City...They come to the barge like Jacks do on Draggers...Not skeerd at all...A lot of puppies and reds there to..Fine cloakers, sammiches for days..Glad you left the crab trap bait alone....RTR
Haha yessir that’s very cool. The “crab bait” fish have been eluding me, and these taste better
What’s the setup and pound braid used?
7' MH Shimano teramar rod with a 3000 shimano ultegra spooled with 20lb power pro braid. I use an FG knot to join that to 20lb flouro leader. Sorry, forgot to mention that.

😂 thanks man idk about all that, UA-cam doesn’t see all my trips haha
I think someone has hacked you again possibly
